  1. remember everyone's plans are different and mine has it printed it may take multiple meals. Also my NUT has approved 3 meals and 2 snacks even b4 wls. However with 3 meals alone you would have to have up to 30g protein per serving and cals would be upward of 900-1000. my cals remain at 600-700 @ 7 weeks post
  2. No way to get in all your protein six weeks post op? I have zero problems with it and I don't supplement shakes either. I average 60gr+ to my highest day at 93gr. I also eat 4 - 6 small meals every few hours at 100 cal each to ensure from the time I get up 5:00 a.m. to my last meal - never later than 7:00 p.m. all my goals are met.

    Sweet tooth

Wonderslim Chocolate Caramel protein shake / pudding - Bariatric Pal Cheesecake protein shake / pudding The wonderslim has become a good friend of mine. I love it for that sweetness especially when I'm craving chocolate, which isn't that often anymore. And it must be engraved into my brain, but I'm a sucker for cheesecake anything - so when I found the pudding I was in 7th heaven (well at least my head was)... my belly doesn't care so much anymore. I tend to crave more salty than sweet as of late... I keep a jar of mixed nuts everywhere...
  4. Once you are cleared... download the Wendy's app for your smart phone. Right now they are offering free 1/2 salad with any purchase. Last week they offered free Dave's single with any purchase... add .50 cent frosty and you have a 0.53 cent meal. I gave my frosty to my mom and ate 1/4 of the meat. from sandwich. can't beat that deal.

    2 Weeks Post-Op - Full Esophagus?

It did. I usually took it after a meal and that helped the best. Along with opening up the capsule and taking with applesauce (that was truly my savior). Before I was approved, I moved my from evening to mid-day - that's when the pain was always the worst. The the Dr. said twice a day. It helped. Now I'm off completely and take as needed (which I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've "needed" it in 2 weeks. I'm now on a twice a day regimen to prevent gall bladder stones (three months).
  6. First... Invest in an above average Toaster Over or microwave / convection oven - So it can do multiple things... Even the Power XL Air Fryer Oven would be a good investment for you - multi-function. Learn to read labels to the items you're buying are more healthy. Living in Motel not sure if you have a full size fridge or compact. But if Full size... When going grocery shopping (Best thing I Ever learned).... Stay in the perimeter of the grocery store. There is nothing you ever really need to buy that's in aisles. Shop the sales, I use the flipp app for price comparison. The only thing I ever buy in the aisles is canned green beans, or dry beans, Tuna, Canned Chicken, and nuts. Everything else I eat comes from the perimeter of the store. (stay away from the store made fried chickens... LOL) You have a challenge, but it's doable. Nothing is "off" your list forever. But somethings should be or at least within moderation. You've got this...

    Help needed!

I would contact your surgeon. I was off pain meds as soon as I left the hospital and returned to work 1 week later. I had some sharp pains between incision points but it went away relatively quickly (within 2-3 days after I spoke with my surgeon)
  8. If you like Green Beans and Broccoli you're on a good start. Salad will definitely make you fuller sooner and not provide enough nutrition to get you through to the next meal unless paired with protein. White potatoes just need to come out of your diet, if they are a trigger to bad food. Why fish sticks, the cheap minced meat kind? Then make your own and instead of flour and breadcrumbs use flax meal and almond flour. Don't deep fry, put in an air fryer. I love taking fresh cod and slicing it into nuggets to give me that sense of something fun is about to be eaten. You are the only person that can make yourself "try" new foods. It has to be a conscious effort every time. I love steak, but I prefer to just have my meat with a salad or fresh veggies. My household does not eat potatoes, except rarely (Maybe 3 times a year). We don't keep pasta in the house and in fact I had to buy some this weekend to make a pesto - it was a waste because we barely touched it. I had maybe 1/4 cup - the joy of pasta is not there. The desire to eat healthy and be healthy is there.

    2 Weeks Post-Op - Full Esophagus?

Are you on a PPI? I had a similar feeling / reaction and actually had to adjust the time of my Prilosec and requested to take it twice a day for the first few weeks. I also had to experiment with liquid textures / temperatures. And 7 weeks post op, I still have to adjust to make my pouch happy.

How long are your food phases?

I would contact your surgeon and NUT to verify the information. I have read some posts that have had 1 month long phases. Each Dr. is different. And just from what I learned through my surgical team it depends on how long their program has been in place. I made a comment post surgery and they responded with, "we're not there yet, hopefully soon" - But if you have contradictory information from your Surgical team and discharge, I would definitely ask about it. Based on the discharge timeline you provided - that's about how my post op plan went. I had my surgery on 8/20 and went into normal diet at the 6 week mark. I was given my meal plan twice, once by the NUT at my final appointment with her and by my RD during our Pre-op plan. Both were a part of my Surgical teams facility. Other than some minor verbiage, the plans matched 100%
  11. I 100% echo @J San, you need to call your Dr.

    Favorite restaurant meals post WLS?

My BF and I have gone back to sharing meals when we go out. It's the only thing that makes sense... A full meal is high in calories for one person to eat, so he gets 3/4 of the portion while I get 1/4. When we visit Seattle, I order a cup of clam chowder and he ends up finishing 1/2 of that as well. We head off to vacation this week, so it will be our true test of how eating out will work post surgery.
  13. your body is healing, have you had a BM? Yes, you should be moving. how much are you taking in at this point? are you following your plan, have you cheated? Are you peeing enough?

    Munchies

@photogirl70 I used to love those, thought they were super healthy... I think my obsession with them helped me gain weight prior to starting my wls adventure. I also found raw rev glow peanut butter bars, high protein and fiber. Enlightened Plant Protein Gluten Free Roasted Broad (Fava) Bean Snack, are easy and give me that chip crunch I miss. another high protein high fiber. Kay's snack crackers are also high protein

    Munchies

spoonful of PB, Cheese sticks, Tender Jerky, deli meat roll ups. but a sf popsicle usually suffices

    Soft foods - I quit

I started buying Tuna creations flavored and add tsp. of dressing to add a little extra creaminess. cottage cheese, has been my saviour, but regular cottage cheese provides the most comforting sensation. Try ricotta add seasonings. BP store and Amazon have some great tasting protein puddings. Wonderslim chocolate caramel... great as a shake or pudding. have you tried pureed chili? one of these posts has my recipe for Hungarian zucchini stew and would add unflavored protein powder. super soft, but can also be pureed. cheese sticks, and deli turkey roll ups. high protein and soft

    Flying. Talk to ME!!

the CPAP would have to be in yourcarry on, or your purse would have to be in.it. you're allowed 1 carry on and 1 personal item. medical equipment does not provide Ok as an extra carryon.
  18. are you meeting your protein / water goals? Everyone gains weight with surgery, but are you saying you haven't lost that weight either? Are you moving, walking?
  19. MargoCL

    CONSTIPATION!!

The more hydrated you are the better, easier it is to have a BM. additionally, you need fiber. I have a BM daily and have since my 3rd week.
  20. My biggest piece of advice is not to over order supplies for post surgery. I'm 7 weeks post and still have 2 boxes of Premiere protein, 2 canisters full (used about 10 ttl servings) of protein powder, 1 unflavored protein powder, miscellaneous high protein shake samples, 2 boxes of protein jello, 2 boxes of protein pudding... Your appetite, flavor profiles change so much. From a non food prep standpoint, increase in activity helped. I also did what @GreenTeaLael and organized cabinets, etc.
  21. because it's a liquid, I don't think you have to. but to get into the habit of following the 30 / 30 rule, I do follow it.

    Food funerals?

My food funeral was the day before I started pre-op 2 weeks of full liquids. My BF was sweet and made my favorite meals knowing it would be awhile before I saw any of it. I didn't want to gain weight because I was already stressed over the liver shrinking diet. I heard and read horror stories of surgeries being canceled mid-way because the liver was not small enough. I'm now almost 7 weeks post op and happy I followed directions and the things I thought I'd miss, I really don't.

    Am I eating enough.

@J San I haven't met with my NUT post surgery yet, but my kcal intake came up in conversation with my Surgical PA, she assured me my 600-700 was fine and like you, just make sure I'm getting all my protein and fluids. working each phase or now week up to 100g of protein per day. She did say that would be a minute before I reached that goal

Mary Jane is Legal Where I Live

Then just get cbd oil... it's non hallucinogenic and works just as well. I may be wrong, but it sounds like you're looking for validation to get high post surgery. If I'm paying for surgery, I want the most clean, successful outcome.
