  1. I use pre measured cups or a food scale. The food scale has really helped me see what 2 oz of food looks like spread out
  2. See, your body is toning up! Stop focusing on the scale (I know very hard to do for us) But girl, you got this! Keep up the good work!

    More than weight loss

I have a mini (6 can) fridge at my desk. But I've also used my cooler lunch bag which I freeze night prior and put my pre mixed shakes in it. It actually kept my shakes really cold. I also start my first shake on drive to work. 3 weeks and I'm almost able to finish it before I arrive (20-30 min commute)
  4. Is that an apple app? Because I don't find it available for android users

    Stalled since week 2

I'm almost 3 weeks out and stalled this week, in fact gained 1.5 - 2lbs from the 10 post surgery. Just believe in the program it will work. Folks here who have been through this give sound advice. If you're still unsure, contact your surgeon.

    More than weight loss

I'm so sorry for your loss, but it sounds like you have a strong support system and I believe that is key.. I had my surgery 8/20 and returned to work the following Monday. I managed 6 - 8 hour working days. It was rough the first 3 back to work, but it eased up as I got back into a rhythm. Just remember post surgery...walk walk walk and drink drink drink. It took me 2-3 hrs to get my protein in initially and I felt like I was drinking all day. Just keep up on your fluids no matter how much you dislike. It's really the key to your initial recovery. Remember we are all here to help you, reach out anytime.
  7. If you can check the menus prior to have an idea of what you can eat. Recently on a business trip I just ordered soup and it was fine. Good luck
  8. How do your clothes feel? How do you feel in your body (not looking at scale)? When I don't see the scale move I judge on my clothes and how I feel personally. I am seeing subtle changes to my body. My legs are thinner, my neck is thinner, facial features are more prominent vs fat round face. Take the NSV into account. I'm not going to say muscle weighs more than fat because 1lb is 1 lb. The difference is a pound of muscle is smaller than a pound of fat. I know you feel discouraged, but try to see all the other positive things happening to your body right now. Take a picture of you today with an outfit from the past and compare it to a picture of you wearing that same outfit. I bet you will see a giant difference! I bought a 1-piece jumper 2 weeks before surgery to do just that. I use that jumper as my motivation to keep on my path because I really don't like how I looked pre-surgery. Find 1 thing to be happy with on yourself every day and focus on something else besides the scale. You're a beautiful young lady, don't be discouraged, you have a lot of supporters right here to help you through those difficult times.
  9. That's just under 5#'s per week. That's pretty phenomenal! You're doing great! Don't give up now.
  10. I purchased the YUNMAI from the BP store, but noticed it's about the same price on Amazon. I really like, the only downfall is it doesn't sync with MFP. But does sync with Google Fit (which syncs with MFP).

    In preop weight wont move

My pre-op diet consisted of full liquids for two weeks. it was a bear, but I survived (with a mishap). You're almost there, you got this!

    I'm struggling.

@Separ1418 - I did something similar in my 2 week pre-op phase and when I had my surgery, my doctor was still thrilled with my liver shrinking diet. Try not to do it again and remember, this is the road to a healthier you!

    Recommend me a fitness tracker?

I use the MISFIT products more because of visual appeal than the functionality of the products, but the plus is the battery is a real watch battery and it lasts for at least a year. It syncs easily with MFP. I also have a Samsung Gear 2 that I use when I volunteer for the ability to make / receive text messages on my wrist. The battery is barely good 2 days. I think you really have to decide what you want to track as far as fitness goes. If it's just steps, running, swimming, then MISFIT may work for you. If you're looking for a more complex tracking going with an Apple watch or Samsung Gear may be for you.

    What were your starting workouts?

Beach Body has an app as well as apps for your smart tv or amazon fire. It's an annual subscription, but gives you access to every program they offer. Much less expensive than buying the DVD sets. It has yoga, tai chi, insanity and every other beach body program available. I too have been cleared for resuming workouts (restricted to 25#'s or less with lifting) but thought it's a good time to break out "beach body" again. If you're looking for something fun.... look up on youtube - the "Sally Up" video workouts. The squats alone get you, but they have push ups, etc... I think if you look for Sally Up Squats, it will slowly bring in all the other videos too... Good luck and keep us updated
  15. Some of my paperwork shows working up to a cup a day. I think (personally hope) there will always be restriction. I don't want to go back to where I started.

    Sleeve vs Gastric Bypass

@Ed_NW - I had the reflux really bad the first two solid weeks. I decided to change the time of my meds this week and suddenly the reflux is gone. I'm crossing fingers and hope it stays that way because I never had issues pre-surgery.

    Favorite Stuff

I'm a newbie post surgery but the things I can safely say I can't or don't want to live without: 1. 17 - 24 oz traveling water bottles (I have one everywhere, cars, work, home, etc) 2. Sqwinchers zero water enhancer (although am doing much better now with plain water) 3. My small salad and bread plates with dessert silverware 4. Small food containers to prepack my meals for next day ranging from 2 TBS to 1 Cup in size 4. Kitchen food scale - this has been my go to pal once I was permitted pureed / soft foods (I am able to measure 2 oz and ensure I don't go over by "eye balling" it like I used to in the past) 5. My Fitness pal app - I've tried them all and always return to MFP 6. My fitness tracker - I alternate between my Misfits (phase and flare) along with my Samsung Gear 2

    Sleeve vs Gastric Bypass

I completely understand. The best is yet to come and you got this!

    Sleeve vs Gastric Bypass

I am moving onto to 3 weeks post op from the sleeve and so far it's the best decision I've made. My reasons for choosing the sleeve were because it was the least invasive (imo) of my organs. It's removing a piece of my stomach versus having things rerouted. From what I've read the weight loss is somewhat the same. I am slowly transitioning into soft foods but I feel "restriction" so I know when to stop eating and I'm learning to listen to my body when it says "its full" - I know in the past I ignored those things and the restriction is teaching me. I think you have to do what's best for you. Good luck in your decision and keep us posted.

Need advice and encouragement not ripped apart

I hope you are feeling better and not so nauseous and sick anymore.
  21. BeachBody on Demand. It's a $100 per year investment, but gives you access to every program they offer online / on demand / and in a app.

    Coping with emotions

I agree, I think you were a bit harsh. You did not mention the anxiety since you were 15. I think the hormone comment is very helpful and maybe, just maybe with your current / past situation combined with the new hormonal release you are experiencing a higher stress / anxiety level. Have you spoken to your surgeon / doctors? I think they are the only ones that can help you. I can tell you that going to the gym and practicing mediation and Yoga are often helpful, but I think you really need to seek professional help and maybe look at medications to help.

    Bra after surgery?

I wore sports bras, or loose wireless bras (fortunately the weightloss in the first week make the cami bra fit well). I am 3 weeks post op and still struggle with a bra all day and at the end of the day I go home and put on a sports tank top with bra support. It's helped tremendously.
