Should I break up with him?

You don't deserve to be treated like this! Like MeganA said, take little steps if you need to, but you need to dump this guy and you already know it. If you need some solid advice, try www.drphil.com. He tells it like it is and offers links on his website that can help build your inner self. Good luck to you and heed the words of advice given on this thread.

    help!!!

shakeerah ~ Please respond to Doty's offer to help you if you are indeed being honest. There are so many ways to go about this and you need to understand that people must protect themselves from fraud. That doesn't mean you're being dishonest, it just means that the manner in which you have asked for money is questionable at best. Don't get upset that somone would question your integrity b/c that's the world we live in. I do see that you made a previous request here on LBT on 9-4-05. Have you made any progess since then? What steps have you taken toward your lapband journey? Why didn't you join LBT then? Also, your PayPal isn't verified and that raises questions as well, especially since you've been a member since Sept 2004. <TABLE cellSpacing=6 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD noWrap>shakeerah21 <SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_103082", true); </SCRIPT> Registered User </TD><TD width="100%"></TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap>Join Date: Sep 2005 Age: 23 Posts: 1 </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> I Need Help <HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Please Can Anyone Help Me Im 22 Years Old And Every Day Depressed Because Of My Weight I Weigh 300 Pounds And Im 22 Years Of Age,I Have HighBlood Pressure And Need The Surgery Real Bad I Want To Get Surgery In Mexico But Im $2000 Short And Will Like To No Can Anyone Be Able To Donate To Me It Will Be Very Helpful You Can Donate To Me At Paypal.com gurlblackfire21@verizon.net Is The email Address To Use When U Donate On Paypal. If you are truly being honest, I'm sure Doty will be able to help you raise some awareness in your area and possibly help raise some funds. If you are trying to pray upon the wonderful hearts of people in this community, perhaps you should think twice. I don't really know why this bothers me b/c I'm not the LBT police. I just don't want good people taken advantage of if that's the case. If not, please accept my sincere apology for doubting you....it's my nature. Join this community if you are being honest. This is a great place.
  5. Hi Anthony ~ Glad to hear things went well with your surgery. I hope things continue on a positive note for you. :biggrin1: ~ Take Care ~

    Insomnia and Lunesta

I did some research online after finding out that Ambien was narcotic based and I was shocked to find actual treatment centers for Ambien specifically! I read that some people snort or shoot-up with this stuff. That really does scare me enough to stop taking it. I'm going to give it a shot tonight and see if I have any problems getting to sleep. :notagree I don't anticipate any withdrawals since I've only been on it for 2 wks. I think Ambien does have it's place, but I don't want to become addicted. I'm definitely going to Walgreens to get some Melatonin. :huggie: I appreciate this post so much since it has opened my eyes. Thanks again for each of you that contributed. There's a great deal on knowledge here at LBT.

    help!!!

princess_n_thep ~ I am surprised that you think she did not ask US to donate based on her first post and you think that by being skeptical is being judgmental. Like I said, and as others had suggested, there are much better ways to raise funds. Unfortunately, we do live in a society of scammers....I know b/c I do a lot on E-Bay and I've seen a lot. I recently had a guy that contacted PayPal saying I didn't ship an item 3 mos ago. Needless to say, I expected this some day and had documentation and contacted PayPal immediately. It didn't go any further. I would REALLY encourage you to donate and support this effort if you feel so strongly about it. More power to you and her! I for one, cannot afford to take the risk of donating to something of this nature where the questions are too many. Cashley & Doty said it all very well. My mother does a lot on the computer and finds PayPal challenging at times. Don't you think if someone has "never worked a day in her life", her words, has something to offer skill wise to earn some money? I guess I've been with E-Bay and PayPal for too long to be so eager to support this idea. I have had numerous of attempted scams that have come across my e-mail. In addition, I have been a victim of identity theft. Does that make me judgmental or not open-minded? I think not. Just last week, my husband and I pulled over to offer a homeless man a chicken dinner from Lee's. He thanked us, but turned us down b/c he was a vegetarian. It was a good lesson to teach our children to at least TRY to help those in need. The Lord is good to us and I would help anyone with anything if I was able. I have a very kind and tender heart, but I do have to protect myself and family first.

I'm "official" - my PB story

Oh my, I really feel bad for you and your husband. I can't imagine facing that so soon after surgery. Sounds like you are married to a wonderful man, which is a special blessing. You both make a good team and will get through these little bumps and it will soon be smooth sailing. Before you know it, Mr Hobbs will be begging for his protien first! :dog: :rolleyes You know, I met with my dietitian today and we discussed support groups. I told her I was coming here (LBT) and this seemed to fit my needs. She said that they offer meetings where family members can come to learn more about their role in this process. Afterall, this is a major change and it will have an impact on everyone in the home. This was the first time I gave thought to training my husband. Sounds like that may not be a bad idea if it could be worked out. Take care of yourself and sip easy. :guess

Never...Never...Never in a million years would I even consider donating to this. There are more legitimate ways to raise funds.

    Insomnia and Lunesta

Hidivaliciousdee ~ That is interesting info. Thank you for sharing. I had no idea that Ambien was a narcotic. That must be why my doc was concerned. I too wake up a little groggy (is that the correct spelling...looks weird?) and it takes a bit for me to feel awake. Perhaps I'll try Melatonin that Alexandra suggested. I saw it on the front page of the Walgreens ad this week, so it's on sale. :clap2: I am always up till at least 3AM every night, but that has been my regular schedule for a long time now. It gets bad if one of my boys have trouble sleeping b/c I'm already getting to bed late and it's hard to lose that much sleep. bubbame20022003 ~ Bless the hearts of little ones....they do need their mommies. I take Ambien as I stated earlier, and I've never failed to wake up when I'm needed. I even hear them in the mornings if they get up b4 me. I can't speak for Lunesta, but for me, Ambien doesn't affect my mommy duties. I'm convinced that there is nothing better for a mom than a good nights sleep. I hope your able to get that soon. :notagree

    Insomnia and Lunesta

Hi Penni60....I went to my PCP 2 wks ago b/c I couldn't get to sleep. Like you, I would lay there and close my eyes, but my mind would not shut down. It felt like my eyes were WIDE  open even though I knew they were physically shut. I've had this off & on during most of my life. I know part of this is everyday stress along with being excited about my band. I always have to visit LBT b4 going to bed and it would probably help me to stay away from the computer late at night....like that's going to happen. :rolleyes Sorry that I drifted a bit there.....anyway, my PCP put me on Ambien 12.5mg, and told me he only wanted me to take it for 3 nights and then try to do without b/c he doesn't want me to become addicted to them. Needless to say, I've taken them everynight just b/c they help so much. It does take me at least 1 hr to get sleepy enough to go to bed. Since you have experience with this, what is the concern my doc has? I don't like taking meds, but I do take Effexor once a day and the Ambein doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I don't drink or smoke and my only addiction is food, so is it a bad thing to become addicted to this? I've seen commercials for Lunesta and noticed it has a different main ingredient than Ambien. I wonder if Lunesta reacts differently with the Effexor. A good question to ask my doc I know, but I'm not sure I want him to know that I took the Ambien more than 3 days. He gave me a 30 day supply so I'm hoping to wean myself by then. It would be nice to try the Lunesta since you indicated it works much faster. Also, do you take any other type of meds that help calm you such as Effexor or Xanax? I ask b/c I'm wondering if I need talk to my doc about changing the Effexor since I've been on it for a while now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :clap2:

Looking for Fills in Indiana Area

Hi spnfly2 ~ You may want to try Dr. Christopher Evanson in Indy. He is going to do my lapband once I get approval. I remember him saying he removed a band from somone that had been to MX, so I'm thinking he may be willing to do fills. I don't know that for sure, but it's worth a try. Here's his website: http://www.gsciweb.com/index.php . Another option is to contact the St. Vincent's Bariatrics Weight Loss Center. Perhaps they can help or refer you to someone that can. Here's their website: http://www.stvincent.org/ourservices/bariatrics/default.htm Best of luck to you....I hope you can find someone that fits your needs.

    Cushing's

I'm sure you are terrified. Don't worry about tyring to be supportive right now. You have given so much already and perhaps you'll never know how much your words have meant. NOW is the time for you to lean on everyone else. That is what this board is all about. When you feel up to it, post for support and I know without a doubt, you will find warm arms waiting to hug you. I read in one of your posts (correct me if I'm wrong), but I think you are in mgmt. I know for myself, it's hard sometimes not to be the one in control and have to ask for help. Don't be afraid b/c you don't have to face this alone. You are in my mind & prayers and I know that goes for a lot of others as well. Take it one day at a time!

    Cushing's

Thanks for sharing that info vinesqueen. I can't imagine how you feel, but I'm sure your in the best of care. Learn as much as you can and ask lots of questions when you see the docs. Of course, you already know this....I'll keep quiet. :kiss Keep your chin up and try to post as often as you can. You are a very special person and have a lot to offer here and there is so much we can all learn from you.

    A Wow moment..

WOW....that is wonderful! :clap2: I'll be sure to purchase that issue when it comes out....let us know which issue. That's awesome!!!
  21. Hi SALEMKITTY ~ Welcome to LBT! :welcome: This is great place with a lot of super people. I'm preband so can't offer any advice on the band or MX....you will find a lot of people here that can help you. I am waiting on insurance since they do pay for the band after jumping through many hoops. I will be having my surgery in Indianapolis with Dr. Evanson once I get the green light. I wish all the best on getting the money for MX. :gluck: Keep us posted on how things are going. ~Hope to hear more from you~

    Back home

Congratulations!! :clap2: You've been on my mind and I'm glad to hear you've gotten some good rest. That's encouraging. I'll have to boot my husband out of his big boy recliner after my surgery. Take it easy and keep us posted on your progress. I bet Mr. Hobbs was glad to have you home.

    Lots of doctors banded, here!

I'm giggling b/c that's what I thought at first. :loco:   Then I quickly caught on after reading more posts.

    Just some FYI!!

Thanks Penni60....I am preband and you sure have given me some great things to think about. I've never thought about meditation, but it would make sense to get in touch with your insides b/c I've always listened to my head. :faint: Thank you so much and I appreciate your posts!!!
  25. We are getting tickets to the Brickyard 400 on Aug 6 and realizing I will be banded by then, I got a little scared that I won't be able to drink enough water while out in the hot sun. :couch2: For those of you that have experienced this, how do you get enough water on a hot summer day? Is there a chance I'll get dehydrated?
