Aloe Vera Juice - The Best Me

Guess I'll bump this again b/c I have a question.....:eekB: R U taking the aloe vera juice on a daily basis b/c of a problem or is it good to take it as a preventive measure? Maybe TBM can gives us a comprehensive report on the do's and don't's of aloe vera juice and I will forward it to the dietitians at St. Vincent's b/c apparently they are missing the boat on this beautiful liquid called aloe vera juice!!

    Rosacea

Hi Paula ~ I have never had your condition however, I have learned a little bit about skin care since becoming a BeautiControl consultant. Please understand I'm not really active in the business, but I am addicted to the products for my personal use. These products are top-notch. Anyone from Texas know what I mean? Check all your skin products including make-up for the following items: alpha hydroxy acids, alcohol, retinol, salicylic acid. These can worsen your condition. We offer a product for people with rosacea called Skin Equations Protective Services. I truly believe this may benefit you if you do in fact have rosacea. I can send you more info if you are interested after you confirm your diagnosis. BTW, this is not a commercial. I'm not active except for ordering for my personal use, but I can place orders at anytime if someone has a special need. :biggrin1:

    What do you drive?

I can't find any pics of our vehicles....I guess b/c they can't compete with the kids or animals. :eekB: I drive the 2004 Chevy Venture Van, silver. My DH drives the 2001 Chevy Impala, white. Nothing to get excited about I know....at this point, I'm just thankful for a power sliding door and money for gas. I love all your sporty cars. I'm a little partial to Honda's (I've 3 myself over the years) b/c I have 2 brothers that have made their living working for Honda of America. Myra ~ Texas Motor Speedway.....now your making me jealous!! I would LOVE to burn some rubber on that track.

    Senna for Constipation?

StrawartS ~ This is driving me crazy :phanvan I can't seem to remember the stool softener I took after the birth of my second son. :eekB: I do recall that Colace didn't do the trick for me, so I remember the OB recommended something else. I know I bought it at Wal-Mart. Great help, huh? I do think Melody has a good point b/c I remember something being said from the OB along those lines.....a stool softener is better than a laxative. I'm going to do some research and check my hard drive to see if I saved an e-mail or such. I will be needing it myself. :rolleyes

    Weekend Weight Loss

I'm with you Tricia! Two pounds are harder to come by than I thought. I really am trying, but I wasn't so prepared and I don't have many good choices in the house. I'm preband and have started my shopping. It's time for things to change around this house. This is a good start. I'm not giving up yet, this is just the beginning! :eekB:

    Cute Kitties and other Pets

O.K. Here is the fuzzy members of our family. This is Malley. She was named after Malley's Chocolates in Cleveland, OH. This is Malley and our kitty Gracie #1. I swear this kitten had ADHD!! We had to find her a good home where she could be with someone that had the time to train her. She was very HIGH maintenance. This is Gracie #2. The boys liked the name. :phanvan She is such a calm sweet kitty and came from the local shelter. She is my baby.

    Unexpected support

Molly ~ I feel your pain and understand. Oh, how I hate that for you. That is kind of how I grew up, except it was my mother. She always said I would never find a man if I didn't lose weight and that was at least 50, 60 or 80 lbs ago.....oh, I can't remember. She even brought it up as recent as 6 mos ago (I've been married nearly 7 yrs now) and I told her she was wrong, she proceeded to tell me that I married an overweight man and that's the reason I was able to find someone. Boy, did I jump her case. I don't take that crap from anyone, anymore. I stand my ground for what I believe in!! I told her I would trade 1000's of skinny men for the prince charming I married. I don't even deserve this man. He is so wonderful!! I have come to realize she speaks out of her own fears and insecurities. A lot of what she has said to me in the past are personal issues within herself and have nothing to do with me. I think you can understand what I'm saying. Understand, my entire family is overweight and my mom has been all MY life except for one time when she was taking these horrible diet pills back in the early 80's that are probably illegal now. Just today as I was talking to her about my band, she said she was so glad I was getting rid of the "junk" b/c my son needed it out of the house more than anyone. WHAT?? This is after she told me she had chocolate donuts. He will turn 4 yrs old in July. Here's his pic...he is the one on the left. He weighed almost 10 lbs when he was born and has always been in the 90 percentile, which means he is not fat or overeating, he's just a big boy. Not to mention he has weighed around 50-53 lbs (which is large for his age) for almost a year now and is getting taller and only gaining very little weight. My child will NOT endure what I did as a child and "grandma" will never get the opportunity to make his feel the slightest guilt over his weight. I will protect him from that with all that is within me. Not matter how good the intentions are, that is my child and I don't ever what him to go through what you and I have experienced. It is just wrong for any child to go through this. Parents and grandparents have a tremendous responsibility to protect and love their children. Sometimes the love comes in different ways. Sometimes the love can turn to hurt. :cry That is when we pick ourselves up and realize we don't have anything to be ashamed of. YOU ARE SPECIAL & YOU DESERVE TO BE TREATED AS SUCH!!! :clap2: God bless you for sharing this and I'm sorry if I've hi-jacked. I guess this is on my heart tonight. BTW, I do love my mother dearly and we talk several times a week. She has taught me to be a strong woman along with many other wonderful things that are too many to mention. :biggrin1:

Hi Susan ~ Congratulations!! I'm glad to hear everything is going well so far. I hope you get over that sleepiness by tomorrow so you can watch the race. Please forgive, I can't remember your driver. For some reason, I'm thinking it's Jr. He's favored to win you know? Here's to a quick and speedy recovery.

Thanks for the laugh.....I will be the same way. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend. :phanvan I wish you the very best on Monday. You will be in bandland b4 you know it. :biggrin1: seminole ~ What kind of Isopure are you using? I bought the premixed kind and I am pleased to say I love it. The only thing is that mine has 40 g of carb, 160 calories, and made with sucralose. I wished you could have seen my DH's face when he tired it, :heh: he was quite entertaining. I thought it was a bit pricey at $2.24 a bottle, but at least I don't have to mix it. GNC doesn't offer it online so I guess you can only buy it in the store.

    May 2006 Band Crew

Hi Stitchy ~ I was just researching this myself. The other day I bought 3 different flavors of the Isopure Zero Carb drinks at GNC. The lady told me she sells them to WLS customers by the case. They have 40 g of protein per bottle. She warned though that protein has a distinct flavor - you either love it or hate it. I'm going to give it a try b4 surgery. Also, here's a thread I was just reading: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17644 Yesterday in my pre-op class, they recommended the Slim Fast Low Carb or the Adkins Advantage. I guess about 3 of these give you the daily amount of protein needed for healing. I still have not decided myself so I'm interested in hearing what others have to say. Good question. :clap2:
  23. Congratulations!! I can hear the excitement in your words!! I'm glad to hear you had such a great experience. Good job on the walking too. One thing they stressed in pre-op class was walking b/c of possible blood clots. Walk, walk, walk!!! Seems to be the theme. I hear it helps with the gas too. :biggrin1:

    Cocoa Mulch

Thanks for the tip. I had no idea they even made such stuff. Being a chocolate lover, the smell would entice my cravings. :phanvan Better stick with cedar mulch. BTW, our chocolate lab is named after the famous "Malley's Chocolates"....her name is Malley, of course. Cheri ~ You are too much girl!!

Why is LBT knocking me off the interne?

I trust your running some sort of virus protection like Norton and/or Zone Alarm. Try shutting your virus protection down to see if it solves the problem. If it does, go in and adjust it to use LBT as a "trusted site" or whatever verbiage they use. Hope this is helpful!! We want you on here and it's just not right to be thrown off!! :faint:
