So, what's the horsepower on that thing anyway? :heh: ONE? :grouphug:

Paula ~ Yes, we made it to church and have been going every Sun since Easter. We even made it to Sun PM services. I think this is the church for us and we plan to join. I know what you mean about things going better when you're in church. That is how it is in our family too. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers!! A special THANKS to all of you for the prayers!! :huggie: :grouphug:

Leatha ~ I am almost lost for words!! I have already lifted all of you in prayer and will continue to do so. The Lord is bigger and stronger than those drugs!! Stay on your knees....He is there. God Bless the heart of those precious children!! They are so innocent and don't deserve to be in the middle of all this turmoil....even though it can't be helped at this point. :cry My SIL (she was in her late 40's) passed away last summer from that evil cancer and she had custody of her 3 grandchildren b/c her daughter is a drug addict. It was so sad to see the suffering of those children, ages 10, 7, & 6. Two of them contacted TB before they were taken away. :cry Her other daughter tried to find her sister to let her know her mother had passed away (even had the police looking) and they were not able to find her. As far as we know, she isn't even aware her mother has died....that is if she is alive somewhere. It's really hard on a family to NOT know where a loved one is, even if you know their addicted to drugs. That doesn't change the love in your heart. We offered to take the oldest child, but a cousin stepped up so they could all stay in OH. They live in different homes, but they get to see each other frequently. I can't say for sure they are in counseling, but I know they NEED it for sure!! Keep fighting for those children and fighting for what is right. I don't mean fight your dear mother, but try to get everyone to see how important it is to put their needs before anyone's pride or money. They need all the love and support they can get right now. Here's a big hug for them....:grouphug: With that said, I also have a BIL that I've never met b/c he is also addicted to drugs (they are the only 2 in the family I know of). He has been in and out of jail and actually prefers to be in jail to have shelter. He was on the local news a couple of years ago b/c he had been released and did something to where the police were chasing him. His mug shot was right there on T.V.!!! We have never let him know where we live b/c my DH fears he would come and try to rob us and who knows what state he may be in if he did come to our door. It's so sad. Drugs are so evil & I hate them!!! My mom always taught me not to hate, but I feel strong enough to use that word in this case. Leatha, I really can't imagine the pain and burden on your heart. These are my in-laws and immediate family is different, especially a dear sister that you've been so close to in the past. I will try to lift part of your burden by praying for you & the entire family. I don't always understand why the Lord allows such suffering, but I do know He has been on this earth and knows every pain we feel, felt, and will feel in the future. It makes me think of Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. O.K. I'm a bit windy.....I going to stop. Talk to you soon friend!!

Oh please stay.....I think that's great!! I'm sorry I misunderstood. :grouphug: I thought you had a surgery date. Well, we just celebrated a bit early and we'll do it again sometime soon!! :clap2: :clap2: I wish you the very best with all your tests and such!! It can be overwhelming, but hang in there b/c the light at the end of the tunnel is VERY bright.

I am staying out of this debate b/c you all have it covered, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate leatha_g!! Do you know what meekness is? It is power under control. Leatha ~ You are a wonderful woman full of wisdom....THANKS!! BTW, I love the rest of you too....I just had to share a bit of my heart.
-
YIPPEE Sharon....GREAT BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! :clap2: :high5: :mod:  :whoo: :grouphug: :wow2: :thumb: I am so happy for you!! Oh my goodness, that's next week!! There is a May Crew if you want to join. I like to b/c I can follow people that are banded close to the same time.

Jill ~ Bless you heart, I know it's frustrating. :huggie: I bet you just want to ring her neck even though you like her. :phanvan I would feel the same way. Something that helped me when I thought I would just die from all the waiting (and I didn't wait nearly as long as some) was a quote from PhotoNut: "God's timing is perfect". I hope that helps you as well. Take care and let us know how things go. :grouphug:

Oh, that is terrible news!! Do you have any other information/details? How long after surgery did she pass away? I do know a pulmonary embolism is listed as a possible complication per the info from my surgeon. It that actually a blood clot in the lung? I'm not sure. This doesn't change my mind on the band in the slightest, but I do understand where it can raise a cause for concern when it happens so close to your own surgery date. I don't want to make light of the horrible death of that poor woman, but this should serve as notice that this is a serious surgery that comes with risks with death being one of them. This decision should be weighed heavily and not be made in haste or on a whim. Do I sound preachy? I'm sorry. :phanvan Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself. This is a horrible thing to hear about.

Kare ~ I think your pond is very pretty. It looks like something you would see in the woods. Glad to hear your son inherited your creative side. I wished my DH would inherit some. :heh: Teresita ~ Proceed with caution....you may get recruited by some on here to come "play" in the dirt. Someone was talking about digging holes. :eyebrows:
-
Myra ~ We'll be patiently waiting by our computers to hear the date. :ranger:

This is really funny and I hope it brings a smile to someone today.:biggrin1: I decided to get my butt moving yesterday and walked around the house several times. My 5 yr old son was very interested in this thing called "exercise" mommy was doing. At first, he was riding his bike behind then in front of me and was enjoying his "exercise". He finally decided to join me in walking. It wasn't long until he grabbed himself. I asked if he had to pee. He said no, he was just adjusting. A few steps later he said, "Mommy my pee pee is moving, that's exercise too!!" I about died right there. :faint: I was so glad that we weren't in public. Then again, I'm sharing it here. You just never know what will come out of the mouth of a child.

Teresita ~ You have such a beautiful heart!! You encourage me everyday. YOU are a special blessing!! It's OK sometimes to break down and get things off our chest. God made us so we need others and need to lean on Him. Let Him carry you!! We are there with you in spirit as well. Cancer is such an evil thing. It took my MIL after 6 yrs....ovarian cancer. I will pray for your friends mother & your friend. I hope they know the Lord personally. It is easy to feel sorry for ourselves when we have no idea of the trials someone else is facing. We do have so much to be thankful for and need to call on the name of the Lord even when things are going well....not just the bad times. This song brings me strength....check out this link. It's by Ray Boltz. http://www.wrensworld.com/anchor.htm

Trish ~ I am so glad to hear you are one step closer to healing!! This shows the power of prayer (another thread). I just thought of something today as I was reading your most recent post.....my DH had an open wound from his hernia surgery. A portion of the wound had to heal from the inside out. We we able to get an in-home health care come to the house every day to clean and pack it. They showed me how and I almost passed out.:faint:I can relate in a sense of what your dealing with. Call your insurance to see if they offer that program after seeing the wound specialist. We had a co-pay along with it, but it was sooo worth it. After she came for the max visits, she left supplies and my DH took it from there. He is now completely healed. Take care and find comfort in knowing you are lifted in prayer and you will be fine!!! You are going to grow from this and help someone else someday. ~Keep in touch~

Now that is funny!! Looks like Sampson is almost as big as Ray. This is a pic to treasure forever....thanks for sharing!!
-
Hang in there!! I think sometimes the Lord wants us to lean on others for support. We will be strong for you!! Also, don't count a child out. A D&C may even help in that matter. Don't give up!! I wish I could take all your pain away. :cry Just believe you are going in the right direction to get healthy and you have a bright future ahead.

I hope a shovel is not what your thinking. I would either find that dog a home if I disliked him that much or find a product to keep him away from my plants. My first thought is, I would want to KILL him and second, I would be concerned he could die from something he ate. Is that an oxymoron? Check out this link: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441780739&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302033166&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1146543741541&itemNo=39&In=Dog&N=2033166&Ne=2 I wish you luck and hope you can solve this problem!! :phanvan Your plants are too pretty not to mention the work that goes into them.

My heart is breaking for you and I share your tears. I know nothing I can say can stop the tears, but take comfort in knowing that you are lifted up in prayer. :pray2: It's easy to say be strong, but doing it is another thing. I know you can find the strength in the Lord....let Him carry you. You can do this.....you WILL bounce back!! I know you will. I've seen your fiery side in some of your posts. (I hope this crazy jumping thing brought a smile) You are a strong woman!! I will pray for you to find peace and calm through all of this. I just know everything will be fine. You know you can always come here for love and support!! Please keep in touch and let us know how your doing.....everyday.....post and talk to us. We want to hear from you!!

Try to get some sleep tonight Drewlou. :notagree I will say a prayer for you!! BTW, I don't care for Gatorade, but I do like the Isopure premix Grape. It's a lot like Kool Aid, really it is. Be advised though that my DH didn't like it. I guess to each their own. Give us an update when your able!!

desertmom ~ How are you? What day do your go for you endoscopy? I am praying for you to have peace with God's will. He has promised to never forsake us and you are standing on that promise right now....as difficult as it is. Keep your eyes on Him...He will show you. Teresita ~:amen:&:amen: This is going to be a good week. I actually walked today!! TrishS ~ I have been reading about your whole ordeal and I'm praying for you!! Bless your heart. The Lord will lead you to the right place to resolve these issues. It's difficult to trust sometimes, we all know from experience. :phanvan Hang in there & you can count on prayers here!! juliegeraci ~ Welcome to LBT!! It's so great to have you here!! I am so glad you feel comfortable. LBT is a great place!! I too started praying b4 I even decided on the lapband. I have prayed for the Lord to open and close doors to let me know His will. Well, after a long wait and a lot of stress (which wasn't necessary) I will get my band on May 26th. I am 100% confident this is what the Lord has planned for me. Keep us informed of your progress and I hope you post often!!

Pre-op, not dieting and friends are "concerned". Help!
3loves replied to Constance's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tell them it's obvious the toll that yo-yo dieting takes on one's body and your taking a short break. However, they need not to worry, but should watch out for some BIG changes on the horizon. Then tell them you are SO excited about your future. Keep'em wondering and then YOUR in the driver's seat. -
Oh Paula, that is drop-dead gorgeous!!:faint:Does your dog really eat those? I would have a problem with that too. Try sprinkling some chili pepper around the pot and maybe he'll stay away. I may have to get me one of those. How long do they take to mature?

Welcome FREE-TO-BE!!! :welcome2: It's nice to meet you and have you part of our May Crew. I understand where your coming from b/c I waited a long time for my letter and when I finally got it, it was scary in a sense. Reality kind of kicked in. Now I'm in a different mode and waiting for the 26th. I have gained 15 lbs since Jan just eating "last suppers". :faint: How terrible, but I did enjoy it to a certain degree!! Just be careful and remember that you will still be able to enjoy most, if not all, the foods you eat now only in smaller portions. Tonight my hubby is on his way to Wal-Mart with the kids and he's getting me some SF Blue Bunny banana Popsicles. YUMMY.....don't those sound good? :hungry: The nurse recommended them and she says they can't keep them on the floor after surgery. Don't let the complications thread scare you too much. There are a lot of variables of why things happen. I think you should be informed and know what could happen, but I personally think the good out weighs the bad in a land slide. Ask questions and become as informed as possible....it's only going to help. Take care and let us know when you get a date!! :biggrin1:

William steals my heart too. I love the ears turned back....silly dog. I had a beagle when I was around 10 or 11 and her name was "Tiny". Dad and the boys took her rabbit hunting. She was a great dog. I agree with you that they have little souls. Why else would we give so much of our hearts to them? Also, let me say the eyes of Mr. Hobbs & Casey just melt my heart. I love all animals, especially dogs & cats, but I can't help be partial to the breeds that have already touched my heart. I am going to have to dig into my pics and see if I can find one that shows we had 17 dogs at one time. That doesn't include the 2 cats, ducks, rabbits, or the chickens. We already had my Poodle, Andy and our 2 German Shepherds, Hitler & Shadow. Along came a stray Blue Tick Hound that claimed us as her family. We don't know who did the deed, but one of the shepherds get her pregnant & she had 13 puppies!! We never did find her original home, but were able to place her and ALL her puppies into good homes.
