Yoda ~ I would like to be a fly on your wall for just a day. I bet there would be many stories to tell. :heh: It sounds to me like you and you DH have a lot of fun together and you know they say laughter if good for the soul. Tell you DH we enjoyed his story and for him to feel free to post any time......also enjoyed yours just as well. I'm too sleepy right now, but perhaps I can come up with more tomorrow. :notagree Night!!

Please understand that I am proud of who & what I stand for and I appreciate you acknowledging that even though it was meant to be sarcastic. I surly don't need LBT or anyone else to validate that for me. I too speak my mind, but I do it in a manner that is not intended to build my own self esteem by tearing others down. I truly hope you try to find some help with your emotions that seem to roll off your fingers. Especially, after you got so fired up when someone had a different opinion other than yours.....you didn't even take your own advice. Now where does that leave you? Did you win the special Olympics since you carried on and apologized at least 4 or 5 times? Hmmmm?? You should always be true to who you really are, but show some consideration and respect to other people when you do so. You can still be funny. You have a lot to offer. Just don't put yourself in the position where you have to edit all the time and ask for your posts to be deleted. I hope you can look at this as a positive step for change. The Lord knows your a superstar when you really put your mind to something. I love to laugh and hope we can still look forward to sharing laughs together. I just don't want to do it at someone else's expense. I hope you can understand a little bit of where I'm coming from.

I just have to say what a lovely group of ladies!! You all look so wonderful and happy!! :clap2: It's nice to put a face with the screen name....avatars don't keep up with the changes. Thanks for posting the pic for all of us to see. You are all such an inspiration!! BTW, the kids are just adorable.

I need more info on why some wear a bracelet. I have asked this question twice, once during pre-op class and another via e-mail to my surgeon. I got a "no" both times. What is it about the "No NG tube without scope"? My surgeon also works ER trauma, so I'm sure he has a clear understanding of this. I think a lot of banded people do wear the bracelets. Can anyone specifically describe why it would be essential in the event of an accident/emergency? I love details. :biggrin1: Thanks in advance!!

This is great and full of laughs!! I had an employee working for me that said she had been reincarnated. I asked her how she knew. I quote, "How do you think I did so well in History?" I about rolled on the floor right then and there. This has stuck with me for years!!

How cute is this? Hey, Doty are you ready to race tonight? Happy Birthday SMOKE!!!
-
Happy Birthday Tricia!!! I second the picture thing!!

Yup....and I hold my head HIGH!!! BTW, I do get the jest of what you are trying to say, it's just there are a 100 different ways it could have been expressed. You don't always need to put down a group of people to build your self up or make yourself look good. Again, it truly shows your integrity and cowardliness more than it does a warped sense of humor.
-
This clearly shows ones integrity. This is offensive and I take offense. Not b/c I have or even know someone that falls into this category, but b/c this hurts my heart for those people. "Retarded" people as you put it, go to the special olympics and experience and learn more than you obviously will realize. I think it's clearly time for some RESPECT to be shown to the veterans a lot of you are bashing. Get over yourselves!! There may come a day that you need their help and advise and guess what, your not going to get it. I have seen a lot of back and forth, yet I have not seen any proof (other than old threads....2 mos or longer) to substantiate the claims regarding the discouragement you've been fighting over.

Happy Birthday Jenna!!

I have 3 loves in my life....my husband and my 2 wonderful, super cute and super ornery boys.

YEAH Myra!!! It's hard to believe you are here posting the same day of surgery. What a woman!! I'm so glad to hear all the great feedback and thanks for the tip on the shocks. My drive home will be 3 hrs and we will have to stop for short walks along the way. Get some rest and we'll look forward to hearing more from you tomorrow. :clap2: MarionJean ~ Welcome to the May group. So glad to have you here!! Your date is on my bday...yeah!! We have 2 other members getting their band on the 31st as well.:welcome:

Oooo....I'll have to check that out. I love go old southern Ward. Does an accent get any better than that? Do you remember when he said he was going to shoot Jr (I think) with his shotgun? That one had be rolling on the floor. I do know that DJ is driving for Toyota next year and UPS is going with him. I missed qualifying tonight. I hope they have a rerun. :Banane20:

O.K. I don't get it.....what/who is this in reference to? I am preband and have had nothing but great support on this site. Maybe b/c I am preband I don't get this whole thing? Maybe I should stay out of it. I just don't understand. Perhaps this is a personal issue that should be addressed with the individuals involved. Have seasoned members really been offending newbies? If so, I have plum missed it. Perhaps Susan is taking a stand for newbies and offering this thread as a source of protection. :Banane20: One thing I do know for sure is that Susan has a heart of gold and would step to up for anyone in need. There must be more to this than I am seeing b/c I just don't get it. This thread shouldn't turn into newbies against veterans. This is a place for support regardless of where you are in your journey.

Medussa ~ Congratulations!! Thank you for the words of encouragement. I have total peace at this point and time, but that is subject to change of course. :Banane20: Was the barium swallow difficult? I just had that yucky stuff for pre-op and can't imagine doing it so soon after post-op. I need to check with my surgeon to find out his procedure on that. seminole ~ Glad to see you back & at'em!! You seem to be doing very well too. Any nuggets of advice that you learned post band? Hang in there Pat. :biggrin1: Are you feeling any better today? I hope your able to take a few more days off work....it would only benefit you. sisterfunkhaus ~ Hey, we share a band date!! :clap2: Can you believe this time next week, we will be on the other side? Kim ~ I'm here and sorry to say I haven't stuck to the liquid diet as much as I should have. :cry Aunt Flo came for a visit :Banane41: and although I'm glad to get it out of the way b4 surgery, I fight cravings. I have still lost 2 lbs which is great for me. I wasn't able to have the shakes on Thurs b/c I was in Indy for my pre-op testing. I guess since I know it's not required, I didn't sweat it that much, but I did think of you guys. Also, the hotel where I stayed on Wed PM didn't have a fridge. Myra ~ Thinking and praying for you. Hope all is well and looking forward to hearing from you. Would love to hear from everyone else that's been banded lately. Please give us an update and let us know how your doing!!

Good for you!! I bet he knew you were serious about the guests too. I could just see that now. :pound: He must have a good sense of humor if he wore the outfit too. Did you get a picture? Men are so visual, aren't they? Looking forward to hearing from you on Sun. Have a great weekend!! -
Susan ~ As you know, I am not banded yet and have never felt discouraged by any newbie or experienced bandster regarding the so called "honeymoon phase". I think this issue has been on your heart for some time now (you've quoted some very OLD posts) and in my humble opinion, comes from the fear of life after the honeymoon. *Please don't bite me for saying this and if you do, don't chew* Take a close look inside yourself. I understand this will probably ruffle your feathers b/c of your nature. I am the same way. Please take this from my heart and understand I'm not trying to criticize you.....only offer something to think about. This makes me think back to what I heard Dr. Phil say a few days ago.....addiction is MANAGED not CURED. You or anyone else is not cured of your food addiction just b/c you've been losing at a great rate and you have an admirable attitude toward working the band. I think this is the point they are trying to make. Don't take it so personally. If you do have something that's not on your approved band food list, this doesn't make you a failure nor does it mean you can't continue on with the same gung-ho attitude after the fact. I know YOU will be successful with the band and you have given me much needed encouragement and I feel blessed to have you at LBT!! Please open your heart to some of the things shared on this thread and ignore anyone that you feel is pulling you down.

You need to see an allergy/asthma specialist. My pediatrician said my son didn't have asthma & even x-rayed his lungs. I knew in my heart he had asthma. I took him to a specialist and sure enough, he does have asthma. He takes the Singular, Xopenex (the pure form of albuterol without the jitters) and Pulmicort (steroid). His symptoms improved greatly. If you don't do anything else, PLEASE tell your surgeon. You don't want to mess around with this and it's not something that would keep you from the band. Also, keep in mind they may tell you that your allergic to dog dander. I know Poodles don't shed, but they do have the dander like other dogs. Do your babies/baby sleep with you? Good luck!!

Hi Diane ~ Wonderful news & CONGRATULATIONS!! It is great to hear from you!! I know a few have suggested for you to move forward cautiously out of concern, but I know you have been researching this and wanting this for some time. I'm sure they did an ultrasound on your liver and could probably tell at that point if it was too large for surgery.....someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I just had my ultrasound today, along with other pre-op tests. My surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet although I'm attempting to put forth the effort. Now about your husband......that makes me so sad for you. :cry The last thing I would want to do is create any more grief for, but if I were you, I would tell him I would sign that paper and HE would have to sign a paper saying if he became disabled, he would go into a nursing home b/c you won't be responsible. It's the same thing. O.K., that's not a good response. With my nature, he would have been thrown out of the house. He has some real issues that have more to do with himself than you.....you are experiencing verbal abuse. I wish I knew how to advise you. :phanvan Have you considered counseling? I know from what you have said previously, you have been trough a lot. It's time to take care of you!!! You will always find 110% support here!! I'm here for you and I'm sure the rest of LBT is as well!! Sending hugs your way!!! -
I'm such a goober!! I had to get up at 6:30AM today, wait Thurs since it's now Fri, and I don't do mornings. I slept in a hotel to make it to the hospital for pre-op tests at 7:45AM (it's a 3 hr drive from my home) and I got mixed up Myra....sorry!! :phanvan My thoughts don't change, only the date.

Glenn Close comes to mind...poor bunny. :biggrin1: So why was the Vin pic cropped?
-
Hey Myra ~ YOU'VE BEEN BANDED!!!! :high5: You are in my thoughts & prayers!! You have been such a great source of information and comfort for me. I know you doing well right now and probably sleeping. :notagree I went for all my pre-op tests today and was very calm and walked all over the hospital as I was there most of the day.....it felt comfortable being there. How weird is that? You are such a blessing and I'm looking forward to hearing all the details about your experience. Like they always say, SIP, SIP, SIP. Take care my friend.
-
Myra ~ You are so silly and always make me smile. :biggrin1: I am just THRILLED to hear that all is well....I knew it would be. :clap2:

Thank you so much!! I will be making some this weekend.
