Where was the most embarrassing spot that you PB'd?
3loves replied to lljpaisley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm glad I did a search on this b/c I knew this topic had to be somewhere on here. We just had communion Sunday. I was really worried especially since I'm newly banded. When it was time for the bread, I bit the piece in half and let it melt. The other half is still in my purse. :faint: The drink took me 3 sips to get it down. No problems whatsoever!! -
Help with Primary Care Physician in Houston
3loves replied to RLittman's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Make it easy for them....I would type the letter for him and take it to the office. Here's what my PCP wrote: Dear Sir or Madam: Please accept this referral for patient 3Loves, DOB XXX. I feel that this patient would benefit greatly from bariatric treatment. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to call. This is not a surgery clearance, merely a recommendation. I would be furious if my PCP wouldn't give me a letter if I felt as strongly about it as you do. I would move quickly since you have a short deadline. Good luck......I hope you get the letter you need. -
Linda ~ Sorry to hear about PMS. Yucko. :tired I'll be joining you next week. Don't worry about the weight gain. Concentrate on following the rules. Now, you remind me of this next week, O.K.? I've heard some say they feel more restriction when it's that time. Let me know if you experience any tightness or such. Hi Myra ~ Well, your just the little lap band trooper!!! Good for you my friend. Yipee.....15 lbs....WTG!!! I don't have much to complain about either. I keep looking at the weeds that need pulled, but I've been a chicken to get out there b/c of DeAnn pulling her port muscle. Maybe I'll stick gloves on my boys and direct them on which ones to pull.

juliegeraci ~ I just wanted to wish you well tomorrow!! YEAH....you getting your band. :clap2: Your surgery will be over before you know it. I hope you've done some research here on what to expect. Most of your pain will probably be in the port area. Every day does get better and it goes so fast. Give us an update when you get a chance b/c I'm anxious to hear from you!!! I'm sending you warm & happy thoughts!! -
She had her surgery on May 26th and she's been MIA since. Has anyone had contact with her? It's not like her not to post. She is always the first one here cheering us on....such a happy spirit!! WHERE ARE YOU KIM??
-
Christina ~ It sounds to me like you are very well grounded and have thought deeper about this than we all originally thought in the beginning of this thread. You have covered some imporant points in what your looking for. I do wish you all the best and please keep us posted on what develops.....you have my interest in this love story.

I've been on full liquids immediately after surgery on May 26th. I did however, have clear liquids the first few days. I even got sick (no golf ball or slime) the day after which was probably from the anesthesia. I love cottage cheese and apple sauce together...yummy. :hungry: Last night I really wanted cheese so I carefully ate 4 slices of the new Sargento super deli thin cheddar cheese. You can almost see through it and it melts in your mouth. I ate it very slowly. It felt great on my stomach and so satisfying. Before eating it, I did double check to make sure it was on my list of approved foods. :clap2: If I feel ANYTHING in my chest, stomach, or throat, I will stop and let things settle. I find myself eating too fast sometimes. I have to really concentrate on eating slowly. My kids laugh at me for using their old baby spoons. Boy, this does take practice doesn't it?

Looks like a tiny hiney to me. :girl_hug:

Hi Julie ~ I have prayed for you to have peace and feel the presence of God. He is with us always. In addition, your never alone b/c you have us here at LBT. We've been there, done that, and will be checking in on you wondering how your doing.....along with those that are preband. :biggrin1: Looking back, I still would have done this alone or not. Not once was I scared b/c I turned it over to God. He will bring you peace. Bless your heart.....you will be fine!!

Christina ~ I think you should look at this guy in a different light to see if your compatible on a deeper level. How do you feel about yourself when your with him? Do you feel like a better person after spending time with him? Can you REALLY see yourself loving him unconditionally? What if he was injured and couldn't work the rest of his life? Do you both share the kind of love it takes to be the caretaker for each other if something horrible were to happen? Do you share views on religion, politics, & raising children? Just make sure you don't have to change your authentic self for any man. Be true to yourself. Don't get married just for the sake of wanting children now and thinking you can't have them later. I'm 39 and have 2 children, but plan to have more....the Lord willing....after we wait out the new band placment.....1.5 - 2 yrs. There are many women that have babies later in life. My SIL, 42, just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. We are so thrilled to have baby Mason. The clock does tick when your older, no one can deny that. Be true to yourself and I would suggest a prayer. God's timing is always perfect.

Sorry guys if the link wasn't working from the original thread....not sure what happened. :phanvan Diane ~ Still praying for you and I do hope your pain is getting better. Are you getting enough rest or are you still taking care of everyone else? Put yourself first right now so you can heal and cook your little buns off!! Mandy ~ I came home from the hospital on full liquids. You still need to follow your docs instructions though. IMO shakes are fine for breakfast and the most important thing is to be sure to get all your Protein. I was drinking a shake on my way to church this AM....didn't have time to sit and eat. I will probably be like that most Sundays. Sister ~ It could be gas moving around. I had shoulder pain last week just about every time I ate. I told the surgeon and they wanted me to contact them if it didn't go away by Fri. So far so good. It's only a phone call.....I would recommend giving them a ring.

Kat...I love your smile. You are such a happy soul. :biggrin1: Let's see, your from one of those southern states where they like things bigger.....hmmm.....Texas maybe? That penis tree is too funny. I've never see anything like that before. :faint:
-
Oh well, I tried. :phanvan Glad the test is definitely no.

My boys being silly....
-
Mine says the same thing and the serving size is only 1/2 tablet for children 2-3 yrs. Hmmm.....very interesting discovery. They gave me 2 or 3 different papers saying take 2 of them so perhaps it has something to do with weight? Next time I speak to them, I will ask the reason for 2. So many on here take 2 as well. :girl_hug: Now I'm curious.

My surgeon told me to take 2 of the Flinstones a day, so I take the same amount as you.

I spoke to seminole and we agreed to go ahead and start a new thread for our group for the month of June. Here's the link: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=233493#post233493. I will see about making our new thread a sticky to make it easier to find. We will do this every month after as long as we have participation. It is a great place to follow each other and continue to share in our journeys. I hope you all come and join us. This thread will probably be locked to prevent any confusion. I would like to personally give a special thanks to SEMINOLE for starting this entire process for us!! We love you for it!! :clap2:

I am plum worn out!! I just got back from Wal-Mart Supercenter and I thought I was up for it, but I feel whipped.:whip: I took my 5 yr old and he drove the cart and helped me tremendously....it was so cute seeing those little feet scurry to pick something off the shelf for mommy. :biggrin1: I had to go from one end to the other b/c we needed stuff on both ends of the store. Needless to say, I took some pain meds b/c my port site was burning & hurting. Is it just me? It's been a week and I felt great today. I guess I don't have as much strength as I thought. How did everyone else do on their first outing? :girl_hug:
-
Sorry to say I can't offer anything here b/c I've never been in this situation. I do however, hope your mom gets some relief. I bet she's miserable. Good luck!!
-
Hey Karen ~ If your pregnant, can I have your Daytona tickets? :heh: Sorry, just couldn't resist. Now for the sensitive side....I do hope your not pregnant since they want you to wait 1-2 yrs. Make a call to your doc b/c you may need something to help balance your hormones.
-
Oh my....definitely a huge difference with 15 lbs!!! :girl_hug: You are the incredible shrinking woman!!! Makes me wished I would show 15 lbs like that, but I don't. I'll take it though when the day comes. Thanks for sharing this b/c it's good inspiration to get out and walk on such a beautiful day.
-
I just told everyone and will continue to do so if the interest is there. I enjoy people and love to talk. I'm not really a bashful fat person to begin with....maybe that's part of my denial. :girl_hug: My DH is very reserved and I'm an open person so we balance each other out.

Caffeine can make some people hungry. It also dehydrates you. I can't remember the "exact" formula for replacing Water, but it's something like for every cup of caffeine you have you need 2 or 3 cups of water to replace it. Water plays such a critical part of our success. A few short months ago I was having 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Right before surgery I was down to 1/2 cup a day. Now I have none. I'm hoping I don't crave it later. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, if ever.

I'm thinking we should start a new May Band Crew ~ June Talk thread. What do you guys think? We could have the mods close this one so new people would know to come to the most recent month if they were banded in May. We definitely need to keep this going regardless. You all are my band buddies. :biggrin1: I used my Magic Bullet last night for my bean soup and it was awesome!! It came out creamy like peanut butter....I almost reached for the bread. Not really. :heh: If any of you still in the early stages want soups like the bean, potato, chili, this is a great way to have them. Turn them to mush and they taste delish!!! :hungry:
