I had pain in my left shoulder that was alleviated with a heating pad. Give it a try.

I wish you the very best YellowRose!! You may be sore, but that will quickly pass. I hope you have an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery!! ~God Bless~

It means your a "stiffie". :pound: Sorry....just couldn't pass on this one.

Way to go Marcy!! You will NEVER see those 3's again....gone, gone, gone. :clap2: ousooner ~ Amazing!! I bet your doc was very pleased. It's a wonderful thing if you can avoid meds for HBP and sugar. How is your sinus infection? This seems to be a bad summer for that stuff. It's going around at church too. Super Duper job to each of you on the challenge!!! I didn't do so well myself, but I did start working out at the Y. This week will be better.

:wow2: You went down a whole size....great job!! I think I was a 6.5 when I was married and I'm looking forward to being there again. I think I'm an 8. Does anyone wear their bands on a chain if you can't wear them on your finger? I had to do that during both of my pregnancies. That way it was still close to my heart. Monica S ~ Nothing wrong with E-Bay. I usually check there first if I'm thinking of buying something, even clothing. I buy a lot of my boys Gymboree clothing on there and even sell their old stuff. I LOVE E-Bay!!!

Hip Hip Horray for Doty!!! :mod: :whoo: :cheer2: Welcome to the "other side". You are going to love it here. Like I said b4, I am proud of you!! Love your avatar and your fancy signature. Looks like your daughter was able to help you out today. Golly girl, you don't look your age at ALL. I expected your have gray hair and lots of wrinkles....meant to be a compliment. You will be strutting your stuff in no time at all!!!

First of all, congratulations on your band!! :clap2: Who was your doc? I only ask b/c most of them require approx 65 g of protein a day to prevent PCM (Protein Calorie Malnutrition)....something that would be a challenge with just milk. My doc has a recipe for the 65 daily grams made of 4 c of 1% milk and 1 c of nonfat dry milk....yucko. :huytsao Not my thing so I do other forms of protein. So, in a sense, I agree that milk does contain protein. Do you get your 65 grams a day? I agree with you on the protein being difficult on your kidneys, but that is only if you take in too much at one time. If what you say is true, it's a very interesting thing that perhaps I should bring up with my doc b/c he also has me taking vitamins.

Ah yes, the Original Oprah.

This evening went much better. B4 we left, I asked the boys where to go after class & they both said the bleachers....YEAH....they got it. I was there anyway waiting on them and didn't leave the area. I have come to the conclusion that I don't like that sour puss teacher anyway. She has only smiled once in the 2 days that I've seen her and she walked right past me tonight, I smiled, and she walked on. What a big snot!! I LOVE my other son's teacher. We have talked a few times and she is very friendly and seems to do a good job with the kids. Oh well, I guess you can't always like the people that teach our children. :phanvan I didn't get to meet the director face to face tonight b/c her daughter was in the swim meet (they have 2 pools). I will catch up with her sometime. I'm going to drop this with them b/c I am now staying to watch over my kids and I get the impression that this instructor is only filling in b/c they are short on swim instructors.....they is a sign in the locker room trying to recruit them. Tonight they did go back into the deep end, but had the little floaty things around their waist. It's so much fun watching your kids learn. I want them to swim like sharks, so we will be regulars at the Y. :biggrin1: Thanks again to all and please share your swimming stories.....I love to hear them.

DUH....I knew that. I don't quite see the resemblance either, but love the pic.

I wrote a post earlier & it disappeared. Well, as hard as this is to type again, I gained 1 lb. :cry Boo Hoo. I hate my TOM, but can't use that excuse next week. I am working out tonight so burn baby burn. I will make up for this next week. Hey DeAnn ~ Sounds like you all had a BIG time. Do you have any pics? Would love to see them.

I know this guy from SNL and can't remember his name....it's driving me crazy.....I loved him though. Didn't he die of a drug OD? Joesette, you are too funny. I don't think you could be twins, funny nonetheless.

Nope....my other son wore one in the 3 ft Water. However, all 3 kids held onto the edge and she did take them one at a time. You see, I was there b4 lessons were over and was able to observe the beginning and end. He understands the rules and with me being there the entire time, I can adjust to the deep water thing. Funny ~ This is their written policy: Viewing Classes: All parents are encouraged to watch classes on the pool deck the first and last days of class only. If you are viewing, please remain seated quietly on the bleachers. All parents are encouraged to wait in the lobby area or use other facilities. If your presence or that of a siblings distracts your child, the instructor, or the lifeguard, you may be asked to wait outside the pool area so as to maximize the child's learning process and not interfere with the class. I was all for this and planned to work out during swim class until yesterday. I will remain in on the bleachers. Just try to pull me away. I can understand the concern of distractions, but this has changed for me. I have a face to face today with the director and she offered to allow me to stay so I'm sure it won't be a problem. I have to say, they took my concern seriously and I commend them for how this has been handled so far. Alexandra ~ Sounds like you have much better security than our Y offers. There are boys, girls, womens, mens, & family locker rooms and all have doors at the pool and hall end. There are numerous doors for these precious little ones to use. Too many to let them roam. You all have helped bring up some important thoughts & ideas. Once again, I greatly appreciate all the feedback and experience!!!

Need a fill doctor in Louisville or Indianapolis
3loves replied to judyann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't know for sure if he does indeed do fills for MX patients, but it's worth a try. As far as his experience, he's the best IMO. He has been doing this for a few years now and trains other docs for this procedure. He even has people come from outside the US. He also told me the day of surgery that he does his fills personally....not by a nurse or other doc....HE does them. The only thing I can say is to try the 800 # above and see if he's what your looking for. Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS on your band. :clap2: -
Wow....all kinds of responses and I appreciate every one. It sounds like personal experience plays a big role in this. Very scary jqpublic....my biggest fear. REEIZBOOJE ~ I think this is where the deep Water philosophy is coming into play and it makes sense hearing that. I'm still a bit fearful and perhaps that will pass as the lessons go on. Fee ~ Actually they don't want the parents in the area and I haven't signed anything except my membership stuff. I will have to check that info. I will be there every minute from here on out. It's not worth the risk of my children's life. I will have no regrets....I will protect my children. Alexandra ~ I see where your coming from and I agree to a certain extent. In this situation, it wasn't clear if he was in the water or where he was. He could have very easily walked behind the teacher and gone into the pool. Like I said, he could have been at the bottom of the pool for all she knew. He is an obedient child (as much as a 5 yr old can be) and did follow the teachers instructions and only got out of the pool when told it was OK by the teacher.....the classes were ending when this happened. It wasn't a situation where he was running around during class. These are young children were talking about and it should have been very clear as to what the parents should expect when the class was over. Nothing was ever said regarding this. Yes, another class was coming in.....good point. However, NEVER in a million years would I allow my child, at this age especially, wander around in a locker room unattended. There are doors at both ends.....they could take off and be gone. Perhaps I am borderline paranoid, but God forbid they ever come up missing like that little girl in ID, it won't be from a lack of effort on my part.

I love your sense of humor. Thank goodness for thumbs, huh? :pound:

Boy, you make a good point here. Each time I spoke to the director today on the phone, I went into another room. This evening when my DH and I discussed it further, we made sure the kids were not around. Both of my boys definitely pick up on stuff like that. As far as he knows, nothing is wrong. I also told him that it was wrong to go into the locker room w/o mommy and he wasn't in trouble, but he needs to make sure and wait on me next time. He is to go directly to the bleachers and wait. Both of my boys mind me pretty well & I hope I made it clear enough to both of them....I think I did. BTW, thanks for the feedback on the deep Water. Your comments relieve some of my stress. I took lessons when I was little, all 4 of us kids did, and we always stayed in the shallow area until we could swim. I guess this is a newer way of thinking. maudeispam ~ I agree....the teacher should be slapped around a bit. I'm not done with her yet. This is eating me more & more. Especially after watching that precious little girl in ID that is missing. It breaks my heart. Anyone can grab a child at any time. Thankfully, the Y does have a policy against any registered sex offenders and they cross check it with the national registry. Of course, it still crosses my mind.

Oooo....great advice Mandy.....I will have to check E-Bay!!

Bless his heart!! Maybe you can make some progress on the brushing thing. Good luck!! Archermom ~ I've seen that b4...very cute. Jack must have a lot of cats. :heh:

Don't put too much stock into this article. First of all, look at the date....July 18, 2006 4:21 AM. I wonder how people have successfully been banded since then. It also refers to SUPER Morbidly Obese people as being the subject of the study. I would question as to whether they all had the same co-morbidities. Anyone can come with these results (in favor of lapband or RNY) if you take people that already have a high rate of complications. It's obvious to me that this writer did not research the facts. It's also very sad that this article may have a negative impact on someone considering the band if they fail to do further research. BTW, my favorite Protein Drink is Body Fortress in chocolate found at Wal-Mart. It has 20 g of protein in each serving. I usually mix it with 1/2 - 3/4 banana. LOVE IT!!

I will have to try peaches or pineapple with my cottage cheese. It's a staple in my diet. Have you ever tried it with applesauce? YUM YUM!! :hungry:

Love the pirate kitty.....too funny!!! It's Jack's cat indeed!!! sbmorgaine ~ How romantic:brushteeth: I sure hope he brushed his teeth first.

I have not had this symptom and can't offer any help other than suggesting you call your doc ASAP. Maybe by bumping this thread, some others will reply with more experience. Good luck and I hope you are able to get this resolved quickly!!

Oh no Funny :cry I'm sure you were devastated!! The good thing is the wonderful man your married to. Isn't wonderful to be married to someone that always makes things better? I guess this serves as a word of caution.....do something b4 it's too late. I may take mine off this week. It will be very sad without my rings though. :phanvan
