My goodness Diane!! Even though it's rare, at least you know what your up against, sort of. I will google it. Of course, in my small world, I've never heard of it. Glad your getting a second consult to be sure. I will ask the Lord to lift you in His arms and carry you. He has promised to never leave us and He is with you now. Take care and I hope you get a good nights rest!! Keep in touch!! ~God Bless~

No problems here....please, next time take something like this to a PM to avoid addressing your issues with one person publicly. You will get the best results that way.

I had ice in the hospital just like many others here. When I came home, my DH got out the snow cone maker and crushed some ice for me. I'm so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man!!

Oh my gosh Sue!! I can only imagine the difference in your hands!!! That's funny that you didn't think those rings were yours. I bet it feels good. I really miss my rings and keep looking at my finger....it feels so weird without my wedding rings even though I'm wearing a different ring.....makes me kind of sad. :phanvan

Hey Hootiebell ~ Do you remember agreeing to the rules of LBT to NOT attack an individual person? I suggest you go on with your journey and abide by the rules. Find another thread where you can give support or offer some advice instead of causing trouble. OK? OK.
-
Leila ~ I'm going to PM you. My doc switched me to the Effexor 12 hr b/c he said I couldn't take the capsule for the Effexor XR. Do I understand you correctly that is what you take? You are being a real person and you shouldn't feel stupid or small b/c of what happened regarding your concerns of the white spots. It was a legitimate concern. Sounds to me like you have a smart doc on top of things. As for Telly, I know there are some on here that offend more often than others, but just take it tongue n' cheek and write it off as her sense of humor. You are NOT weak.....you are a wonderful part of LBT and block any user that makes you feel uncomfortable. This place has too much to offer and you will come across users that you just don't jive with....block them and go on. I wasn't aware of this. What is this all about? Help me understand.

BTW, are you taking any anti-inflammatory meds for your knee? It may have reduced the swelling post-op on your band. STAY ON THE MUSHIES GIRLFRIEND!!!!
-
Doty ~ Just b/c you can eat something doesn't mean you should. Stop eating real food immediately!!! You have enough grit & determination to stay on the mushies/full liquids until you are healed.....at least 4 wks. Remember that your band is sutured/tied/or whatever to your stomach and you can cause those to come loose. You have come too far to allow that to happen. Also, remember that your stomach is a muscle that has to work and churn to digest those solid foods and you want your stomach to stay as calm as possible, hence the need for mushies. NOW is the time for healing not for eating anything that you can get to pass through your band. You can overcome the mental need for food, which is probably what triggered this today. I'm sure it smelled good. Next time, have them bring you some pintos & cheese from Taco Bell. I still have that from time to time. It goes down easy and it's easy on the stomach. I still don't have a fill and want to wait as long as possible. For me personally, I want to work on the mental changes it takes to be successful long term. I don't have much restriction, but I do get full easily. If I get hungry, I have some cottage cheese, semi-hard cheese, apple sauce....you get the picture. This is an important time for you to plan your day with your food intake. Follow this plan and this is in addition to your Protein shakes/drinks. This is what I sent you and I discovered I could post it here clearly. I'll PM you also.

Old Lady Shoes... Comfortable Shoes... Diabetic Shoes
3loves replied to Poodles's topic in The Lounge
:funnypost: The only shoes I have worn for years is the Easy Spirit brand. I was a 6.5 W and had to move up to the 7 W.....small feet but fat feet. I wear their sandals in the summer and clogs in the winter. I hate shoes and prefer barefoot over anything. -
This is what my doc gave me for the second phase.

This is what I experienced and I agree with waterlily....it's probably the muscle adjusting to the port. I told my DH it felt like being pregnant so I know exactly what your talking about. It does pass. Sorry can't offer any advice on the temp thing. Good luck!!

Deep thoughts for those who take life way to seriously :)

These are great for a good laugh....thanks!! Like the red fonts much better than the aqua. :biggrin1: -
Hey Leener ~ You have been through bigger trials than this, not to discount what your feeling. I just know what you've faced over the past few months. I can't remember....are you taking any antidepressants? If not, you may need some. Your body has been through a lot including the weight you've lost so far. Here's 3 facilities in NJ you may want to check out if they are within a reasonable driving distance. They are from this medicare approved list: http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MedicareApprovedFacilitie/BSF/list.asp?filterType=none&filterByDID=-99&sortByDID=4&sortOrder=ascending AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center02/24/2006NJ Princeton HealthCare System02/24/2006NJ Saint Barnabas Medical Center02/24/2006NJ You are definitely in good hands with Funny regarding the dress. Doesn't she have a heart of gold? Here are a couple of sites I buy from and they do have a few formal dresses that you may want to consider. They are a little cheaper and not the quality of Nordstroms, but they would get you by. Maybe Funny can take a peek as well for you. Chadwicks: http://www.chadwicks.com/Department.aspx?DeptId=9703 Lane Bryant: http://www.lbcatalog.com/lbcatalog/layout/Layout.asp?dept_id=825&rootdept=600& I had one of those wraps done when I was going to Physicians Weight Loss Center. I'm sure it was cheaper than what they charge at the spas. I was a little disappointed that my fat popped back out b/c they didn't really explain the process.....you just lost inches. I lost inches as they promised, but it didn't last. Those fat cells like to breath. :phanvan Live & learn I guess. Hang in there sweetie and keep your chin up. You are a very special person INSIDE and will be on the outside too. Keep the faith and I'll be praying for you.

Believe in yourself!! YOU can do this. A new me emerged the day I got my band. I remember telling my DH in the hospital that I was SO happy and thrilled even though I was in pain. This is the beginning of a new YOU. There may be bad days from time to time, but I will never be as heavy as the day I was banded and my scales will continue to fall.

:amen: and :amen: We definitely live in a different day and time. This is part of the reason we live in the country. Our boys are able to explore and run. It is helpful to us that our boys are 16 mos apart and really entertain each other. Paula ~ I love what you said too. This is so true!! I do have one boy that I classify as "high-maint" and the other is "easy going". BTW, can I send my boys to your house? With all those boys in that age range, it sounds perfect. I will have their stuff packed by 6PM. :heh:

Bless your heart Myra!! I hope your able to get those teeth fixed soon. I seriously had no idea so many people went to MX for dental work....who would have thought? Sometimes I think I live in a small world b/c I have been fortunate enough to always have dental insurance, with a small exception when my DH was working contract.
-
It is interesting indeed to learn how other countries work with the band. Thanks for the link. I will do some research on that product. Initially, it reminds me of a product I used to take called HMF Replete http://www.naturallyempowered.com/html/products/pharmacy/super/hmfrepl.html . It contains the human strain rather than the animal strain. Maybe this came up so I'll start taking it again. Thanks for the feedback!! Way to go Boo Boo!!! I will have to try your drink, it sounds so yummy. Here's another one that I haven't tried personally, but was given by the instructor at our support group: 2 scoops of powder Isopure 3 c milk 1 heaping t sugar free chocolate pudding powder Blend and put in fridge. shake b4 you pour to mix the Protein. Drink 4 oz at a time. Oopps....forgot to write down the grams of protein per serving. :phanvan

Myra ~ Are you being serious or is this a joke? Why would you go to MX for dental work? You have me scratching my head over here.

Before we had kids, my DH was on the bonus program and believe me, he counted EVERY diamond. Sex & diamonds....sex & diamonds. I used to love shopping for diamonds & jewelry and even got to know Monica (our sales lady) personally. Now, I enjoy time away from the kids at Wal-Mart since we no longer have money for diamonds. BTW, I just took my wedding rings off and put them away. I found a cluster diamond ring in my jewelry box that I haven't worn in years. I'm going to see if my DH notices.

Personally, the band was the only thing for me and luckily, my insurance paid. I would suggest you use the "Search" tab at the top and enter the word "insurance". I know I read something on here about how people were able to get insurance to pay for the band if they offered the bypass. Spend a lot of time reading the pros & cons of both b/c both surgeries require sacrifices.
