I can't imagine being so close to surgery and THEN getting the call it's cancelled. I bet you are heartbroken. I'm sure there is a side of you that understands this is for the best and your surgeon is looking out for your well being. It's kind of like a pancake....there are 2 sides. For what it's worth, I had an irregular heart beat and discovered through my PCP before surgery. My lapband surgeon would not schedule the date until ALL tests were complete including the stress test. I passed with flying colors. I'll try to find the thread for you b/c it has a lot of good info. Consider this one more hoop to jump through. Hang in there and I wish you the best on your stress test.

I have the spider veins and varicose veins too. Would love to have them taken care of some day so I'm looking forward to watching this thread for advice. Thanks for bringing up a great topic!

How old were you when you had your children? 33 & 35 ~ We plan to have more after I get the green light from my surgeon. How old is too old to start a family? Never as far as I'm concerned. I will be in my 40's for our next child and my SIL gave birth in Dec and she is 42. Wisdom comes with age and I'll have to say that I feel I'm a better mother at 39 (currently) than I would have been in my 20's. I have a better understanding of focusing on the important things than the petty things that can cloud you at a young age. **THIS IS ONLY MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE/OPINION AND NOT MEANT TO REFLECT ON YOUNG PARENTS....MY PERSPECTIVE ON MY LIFE** If you or someone you know had children later in life and could do it over again, would you? Absolutely. My kids wear me out some days....physically & mentally. At the end of the day, the good out weighs the bad 1000 times over. Does anyone here have experience with adoption? We have 2 adopted nephews and 1 adopted niece from Kazakhstan (used to be part of Russia). They are loved and accepted just as much as other family members. Does anyone want to offer advice or perspective on this? For pete's sake!! I can't believe anyone would dare say your not "ready". No one ever is. You just step up to the plate and do it. I'm sure you've read some things on this thread that prompted you to consider some things that perhaps didn't cross your mind until this point. Your doing the right thing in gathering information. Sure, your smart enough to know there will be different perspectives. You and your DH will make the right decision. Follow your heart and pray about it. The Lord will open and close doors. Don't put any stock into people saying your too old or that you'll be this age when they graduate. Who cares? Personally, I could care less what someone will think of me when my children are in high school or college. I may need a cane or a walker. Perhaps those people just need someone to talk about and if they're talking about me, they're leaving someone else alone. I can take it and I know you can too. You are your own person from what I gather from your posts. Stay on this road of gathering info and soon you'll have your answer. Never look back. Go forward and know whatever takes place is meant to be and you can deal with anything that comes your way. Take it one day at a time. Please give us an update and let us know when you do decide. Bumping this thread. It's been awhile since we've had any updates. I have been enjoying the most delicious tomatoes from my daddy's garden. Mine have not come on yet since I got a late start. Not to mention the huge worm that thought the plant was for him. :cool:

I hate it when people talk out of both sides of their mouth. Like when they post something, delete it, then post something totally different. Like the song says, "You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything". Oh, another thing.....when a person has more than one user ID b/c they don't want other people to know the "real" person inside.

Does Biotin actually build up in your system and help prevent hair loss or does it only help to take it when your hair starts falling out? Like Jacqui said, every doc has different opinions so I'm just wondering what you all think?

Sept Challenge * I stayed the same again. At least I'm not gaining. :phanvan I have left the nurse 2 messages to schedule a fill and have not heard back. Tomorrow I'm going to call and will not get off the phone till I talk to a LIVE person and get this scheduled. I traveled to OH this past week for a quick visit before the kids started school. I had a terrible tooth ache (come to find out I need a root canal per my old dentist) and couldn't eat for at least 24 hrs b/c of the pain. After the pain meds & antibiotics, I still ate very little. I guess my body is adjusting to my weight loss and has decided to hold on to the rest of the fat. Does anyone else feel the same way? If anything, I'm not getting enough to eat and feeling a bit anxious to get my fill. I want this stubborn weight to be gone!!! I'm still shooting for the Sept 15th deadline. Don't count me out yet. :biggrin1: I would probably get very discouraged without all of you. I hear how some are losing and some are not. It's a journey and I'm glad to be able to cry on your shoulders. This place & this thread keeps me going.

I must be having some serious anxiety about hair loss from reading this thread. Last night I had a dream that I went for my first fill and I had a HUGE bald spot within hours of my fill. I was trying to convince my mom that it was from the fill and not the actual band. It was a scary dream that I haven't been able to get out of my head. I told my DH that I've been seeing strands here & there but nothing serious. I've only lost 25 lbs for pete's sake!! I do have enough hair for 2 or maybe 3 people, so I have a ways to go if it does start coming out. I'm taking my Biotin to be safe. Thanks for all the words of wisdom and experiences shared. I'm ready, God forbid it happens.

I just remembered.....I love the "Chocolate Silk" coffee by Folgers. It is good, good, good!!! Try it if your a coffee drinker.

Absolutely hilarious!!! BTW, I always thought PB stood for productive boob. I'm thankful for a place where we can all express ourselves. Right, wrong, or indifferent. We ALL belong and have a right to be here and ask ANY questions. There are so posts that are so far in left field, I wonder if their real. Like I said before, TROLLS are a thread killer for me.

Thanks to LBT, this was a question I asked my surgeon pre-surgery. He replied that he did indeed use this procedure. Once again, I am so thankful for this site. :biggrin1:

Very well said. In addition, it would be nice to see more people admit that they COULD be wrong or accept a different point of view. My views are not perfect for someone else, they are just MY views/opinions. I expect to hear different opinions.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE chocolate!! I certainly don't eat it everyday, but I HAVE to have it during my TOM. I eat a few Hersey kisses or M&M's and give the rest to my boys. My youngest calls them purcy kisses. :biggrin1: I also keep sugar free chocolate pudding or sugar free mint chocolate chip ice cream and suck on the chocolate pieces. That does the trick for me. There are also times I convince myself that my chocolate Viactiv is a treat b/c it is very sweet.

I share your sentiments exactly. This is a place of great knowledge and friendship. The learning never stops as we all experience different issues. I would also like to say THANK YOU ALL!!!
