  1. I do look at menus ahead of time..my problem is the waste of food/money. I eat maybe half, if that... Ive become so cheap! 😂
  2. 10 months out - I HATE going out to eat or having to stop for fast food. I try my hardest not to do this mainly for bad decisions. I waste money, waste food, and dont always make the best choices. Being in the south, eating out seems to be the biggest social experience...

    Carb Cycling

So pre surgery Ive always had success with low carb. My surgeon promotes Keto. Ive done both or I guess Ive done lazy keto post op. Im right at 6 months out. Im wanting to swap it up and try something new to help my body stay on the losing side of things. Ive recently started working out more and the weight isn't coming off as quickly, actually gained a pound this week. Ive recently read Chris Powell's Choose More Lose More for Life and found that Im pretty close to following his Turbo carb cycling already. I just need to get a little more specific with meal plans. Just looking to see if others have tried carb cycling? opinion? results? any extra info?

YES to the being able to eat more. I have learned that chips, crackers and food that you chew up super fine do NOT make me get that full feeling, and sweets DONT make me sick. (unless I eat a large portion) I have since STOPPED buying them! too dangerous! The holidays did a number on me with "off limit" foods. I can tell you that yesterday and today (so far) I have been more hungry. Trying to stick with protein shakes and foods that are higher in proteins. Its like Im having to come off sugar again.

    July Sleeve

Hello July Peeps! I just wanted to check in. Im in need of a little support to get over the holiday hump. I was sleeved on July 25th, down 67 pounds last I weighed. I have refused to weigh during the holidays. Not sure if that was a good or bad choice. I have averaged 2-2.5 pounds lost each week with no stall yet. Im ok with that because slow and steady wins the race!! I know I wasn't reaching my water or protein goals. As of yesterday, I hit that back hard and heavy. I sent all the leftover holiday goodies to work the hubs to get it out of my house!! Im hoping to pick up with some added walking and exercise in the New Year. My hair is also coming out like crazy. I take a added biotin supplement to help with that. Also - saw my doc at 4 months post op, he was very pleased with my progress and told me to keep up the good work. Had blood work and my iron was low. I think that's pretty common. Ive added an extra iron supplement also! How is everyone making it after the holidays?!
  6. Meal prep is always a good idea- until everything looks so good you have try it!! 😳. Labor Day cookout food will have to wait until later now!!!

@AshAsh12I have eaten a few thing that have made me nauseous but im not having consistent nausea. Bless you for that. I agree with @leanbean get you some Zofran. They gave it to me after surgery but I didn't need it then...I always make sure I have some on me. I also agree its hard to exercise with not a lot of food to work with. Even with my B12 energy is sometimes low. I have made an effort to walk more in the evenings but it will be much easier when it gets cooler.

I had surgery same day as you. Lost a good bit that first week. Nothing the second. Now the scale seems to be moving slowly in the right direction. I’ve lost 26 total, including the pre surgery diet. Slow and steady is better but I understand the frustration. Follow your plan, walk/exercise as much as possible and it will happen. I read another post about take the stalls and think about it like your body is having to catch up.

    Non sweet protein

If sweet isn't your thing. stay away from those shots. I ordered some before surgery and forgot about them until last week. I tried one and couldn't not even finish it. I have not tried adding to water to dilute. TOO sweet for me. Premier protein doesn't make me sick, im just sick of them! Ive recently bought genepro powder and that has helped. I need to be more dedicated to getting all that protein in also!
  10. same here. I think it comes from all the protein shakes you drink during your liquid phases. You couldn't pay me to drink a milky sweet protein drink right now. I am only three weeks out. Having to find alternate ways of getting my protein in.
  11. same. exact. thought. here. I also had surgery on July 25th, I started soft foods today. I felt like my body was in starvation mode while on liquids. I too, have lost 24 lbs and not another lb since. As the advice above reads, I have been told to stay the course and remember its only been 2 weeks. When have you ever lost 24lbs in two weeks before surgery!!? My incisions are completely healed yet so that limits my exercise, but I know I need to pick up the pace with my walking! Congrats on your weight loss and hang in there!!

    July surgery

Im one week out today! Still on liquids until next week (every surgeon seems to be so different). I am so ready to chew something! I agree the difference of a few days is HUGE. Im back at work and doing good. Now to figure an exercise plan!
