My first cup of coffee since July 16, 2018. That’s 21/2 months! Had it at home with sugar free vanilla creamer. Yum. -

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!

Hey guys, same problem at night for me too. This is def a struggle. I have had zero sugar but I’ve had carbs. I’m upping my protein tomorrow and going to try to keep better track of my calories. Did anyone else’s hair start falling out yet? -

Hey Guys and Gals! I made it to 315! I started at 365 in July and had surgery July 25th. I lost 15lbs on the pre-op diet. So I’ve lost 40 lbs since surgery and 55lbs total in 21/2 months. I have a long way to go but I’m working out twice a week with a personal trainer so my body is in better shape as well. I am struggling with energy. I eat a good deal of calories, and even carbs but I don’t think I’m getting enough protein. That all changes tomorrow. I have a bunch of protein items in my grocery cart. I have my protein shake every morning but I need more. I get a good deal of sleep and plenty of water but I’ve decided to add coffee back in with sugar free creamer. My hair is falling out but by bit daily but I think protein and lack of consistent vitamins is adding to the problem. So I have work to do. I hope everything is going well for everyone! -

Today was my second time eating out. The first time I ate the beef/cheese portion of nachos. This time I had jalapeño poppers and ordered soup but I couldn’t eat it. I didn’t really like it plus I was full. But the strangest thing about eating out is not being able to drink the water. -

HAIR LOSS So, I just wanted to post that my hair has just started to fall out. I’m 7 weeks out from surgery but 9 weeks out from liquid diet. So that’s pretty much the two month point. I’ve heard it’s between 1-3 months when hair loss starts. So far it hasn’t been too bad. My hair is really thick and healthy. I’ve read you loose about 30% so I’m not that worried. I’m definitely interested in that scalp spray if needed. Oh and my skin has cleared up a lot. I have so much less acne now. It’s great! My personal training is going well. I still haven’t dropped weight. I forgot to get on the scale today so maybe I’ll see it tomorrow. -

Food items: I’ve been eating pirogies for an occasional meal and peanut butter pretzels as a snack sometimes. Both of them have protein if you are looking for other options and you’re not worried about carbs. -

Yes, I was eating the morning star ones. He said it would be better to eat real meat nuggets than vegan. -

So, it’s been 6 days since my last post. I have not lost any weight because I stopped food journaling. So, I restarted today and am hoping for some results. I also skipped a workout last week. I need to stay on top of everything. However, I did lose two inches in my thighs since my last measurement so the gym is definitely paying off. -

Real Meat not Soy I was eating vegan chicken nuggets and patties. My surgeon told me the soy breaks down faster and causes a spike in blood sugar which is what was making me crave carbs. So I’m eating regular nuggets and patties when I need the quick meal. I’m still using my zero calorie bbq sauce. -

I hit 323.2 today. Down 3 more pounds! The gym and walking is such a difference. Every time I work out, even with eating my 800-1200 calories, I drop weight. 8 lbs away from my first goal! -

Actually, it was Walgreens. The vitamin box I originally bought on amazon did not have large enough compartments for barimelts large circle vitamin. -

I’m on Track My surgeon said I’m doing great. He said I should be eating 800-1200 calories so I didn’t mess up! Yay. -

I ate well on Sunday but struggled a little with snacking today in the evening since I hadn’t had enough throughout the day. Getting into a routine now that I’m back at work and doing personal training is definitely an adjustment. -

LETS TALK SHOES So today has been a low day for me. I thought I’d do a little shoe therapy even though my feet aren’t back to their normal size. I was very disappointed in my choices. I’m a size 10 so 11 and 12 or 10W is what I needed to find. Well, I bought two pair but I don’t feel much better. I couldn’t fit in any of the cute styles. Today has been tough. I ate too many calories yesterday. I just feel blah. I thought I’d post because not everyday is wonderful. -

WEIGHT UPDATE I am down a total of 34 lbs in six weeks! 15lb on two week pre-op diet 19lbs in four weeks post-op I’m feeling great! I can fit into chairs in doctors offices. I’m only six pounds away from my six week goal of 320. And only 9 lbs away from my goal of 315 which means I will have lost all the weight I gained in the last year (45lbs)! After that 265 is my next benchmark! HW-365 SW-345 CW-326 4 weeks post op -

Hey, I’m heading back to the school year as well. I’m in the same boat. I’m looking forward to being busy so I have less time to eat a snack or extra popsicle here and there. -

I agree. I use photos, video journals, measurements and clothes! It definitely helps.
