ashley, call your doctor!!! he might want you to go back to liquids. that happened to me and I just went back to liquids for a day or two. but did end up going back in for a slight unfill. they found that instead of me having 2.8cc's in my band I had 3.1. I did ok on the liquids but I could never progress. In the long run you will start gaining wt because your eating the wrong things just to get something in.(I did milkshakes and such) you need to be able to follow the diet to have long term wt loss. I lost about 6 months of wt loss because I did not call when I should have and thought I knew best. I had fills and unfills during this time and all the time never let myself heal. This all started in Jan. and in august I finally had to have all of my fill removed to let my stomach heal. I suffered with sever heartburn with every bite I took. I did gain 5lbs back during the month of being unfilled and I worked very hard at working out and watching what I ate and belive me I just had 2cc's put back and I am happy to have some restriction again. from now on I will call my doctor at any sign of problems and follow his advise. if I were you I would call him cynthia

benfon, I know how you feel. If my surgeon spent more than 2 min. with me at my check up that was it. there are 2 surgeons in the office where I go but they are both the hospitals trauma surgeons also so it's zip in and zip out I think it's a good way for them to make money and they can do these surgerys fast. I had my surgery July 18th 2005 and have never actually seen my surgeon ever again since my post op 2 min visit.I have had several fills and unfills from the other surgeon (who also zips in and out) the best care I get is from the nurse practioner. I request her every time I go in for fills or unfills she is busy but takes the time to explain everything.she also brings in the dietician with her. I also keep a journal of all the food I put in my mouth and show them when I go in and that way they know if there is a problem or if I need a fill. I started this because I had some problems for a few months and had to be totaly unfilled and have just started my refills. check with the surgeons office most places have fills or unfills for a year after surgery free. mine is free for a life time.:clap2: and belive me I'm glad because I have been there alot since january. good luck to you I think your on the right track. cynthia :clap2:

Judy, My doctor never freezes before a fill either. I guess I'm lucky one polk and he's in. I have had problems with my band since january. I had my surgery July 18th 2005. started at 253 lbs and now am 197. since january I have had problems with overfills the doctor thought he only had 2.8cc's in and when I went for a check up( because all I could get down was a can of slim fast and water in a day )there was 3.1 in my band. they do remove all the fluid every time but some how this has happened twice. I finally had all the fluid removed and started over in august. I had heartburn so bad I had to wait to heal. of course I have put on 5 lbs since. in sept they put 2cc's in and am waiting to go back in october for another fill. there are 2 doctors and one nurse practioner that do the fills.I have decided I will only have the nurse do my fills because she is the only one that seems to get it right every time. I am a nurse also and would never do my own fills or unfills. I thought of changing doctors but my fee for fills or unfills is covered for life with their program. and it's less than an hour from my home. cynthia

I found this site from another web site I visit. It's nice to know that there are site just for lap-banders. I had my band placed on July 18 2005. I started at 250 and today I am 206.8 . I live in wisconsin. I work as a nurse. I have two children ages 31 and 20. also 2 grandchildren 4 and 9. I'm having some problems with my diet. the meat that I am suppose to eat sometimes won't go down I end up sick and can't eat for a while. all the junk I should not have seems to pass right through. I have to go see my doctor on monday and I don't know if I should have a fill or not. I feel if I eat right I can't get enough in and water does not keep me full inbetween meals. so things like chips are to handy since my son has been home from school and find my self snacking on his junk food. I also have been doing alot of creamy soups with shreaded chicken and then I'm hungery 1 hr after I eat and I can eat a whole bowl of it. I guess my question is. Can anyone eat the few bites of meat and veggies and be full and stay full by drinking water inbetween untill the next meal? I have 2.2cc's in my fill. I do understand some people are different. pork and groud beeef are very difficult to keep down and some people can eat any meat products and are ok. The wierd thing is anything crunchy like crackers are ok but any bread or anything like rice, rolls make me sick. My weight loss has stopped and I'm only half way there. I'm not sure if I should get the fill or not. I know the junk food is way wrong and not to make excuses for my weakness but I get sick of being hungery. I just don't know what to do ? CYNTHIA
