How To Find A Doctor To Do Fills On Outside Patients
harleymom74 replied to kirajh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I find this so very irritating. I am reasearching the whole process and I am worried about finding someone to do my fills. I agree with the opinion that it is about the money. It is their way of forcing our hand at choosing them. What about people who relocate for employment reasons, military, college, financial reasons, family....? I know someone who was overseas in the military and he and his wife recently came back to the states. Can't they consider having outside patients sign a disclaimer. Somethings gotta give. What ever happened to that oath that they took. Wasn't the whole point to make people better, healthier. I don't think it said anything about doing it as long as they benefit. -
Synchrony Health Fills in Ohio???
harleymom74 replied to HeatherO's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Their website does not support procedures done outside of the U.S. Do you know if they will fill someone who did not go through them for the surgery? -
New to this..and getting all the negative remarks

Who cares what kind of fix it is, it's a fix and that is all that matters. My weight has been up and down like Oprah, I can never keep it off. Let's say you do loose the weight with her plan, how long can you keep drinking green slime and enjoy it. My boyfriend loves me no matter what and he doesn't care about the weight(so he says), but when I told him I wanted the surgery he said something similar to your friend. "if you would get more exercise." with my joint problems and my asthma I can hardly stand the strenuous exercise I need to take any weight off. It never lasts when I do starve myself into a smaller size. A true friend would understand that everyone is different and what works for her may not be right for you (or anyone with taste-buds). This is for your physical and mental health. When it is all done and you loose the weight I'm sure she will come around when she realizes how much better you fell. Fortunately everyone here will support you. Good luck and make yourself happy! -
I checked his website and he has a lot of tools and information, that's very encouraging. I am so glad I found this website. Almost everyone on here is encouraging and helpful. This forum is a great resource. Good luck with your surgery. I hope all goes well, congrat's!

Cosmos, I am really sorry that you have had to go through so much and have nothing but the physical and psychological scars to show for it. It would be nice if you could get some kind of bariatric surgery to help you. There are other options, I'm not sure of your financial situation and insurance availability though. I would like to clear something up, I did not say that a Harvard grad would not go to Mexico for a Doc. One obviously did! I said a Harvard grad would not go to Mexico without researching their doc. The key is not what country it is in, it is the doctor that is chosen. I wouldn't choose a doc in the U.S. without researching them. If the U.S. has such superior medical care then explain to me why malpractice insurance is so high. It only got that way because of the inferior medical care that is sometimes received. I admit that we live in a litigious society, however it wouldn't have gotten that way if their weren't cases of real medical negligence in the first place. Sometimes people spend more time choosing a new car then what Doc they go to and when it goes wrong they want to blame everything on the doc's. You wouldn't buy a car sight unseen, not knowing it's mileage or if it has anything wrong. Why wouldn't research you doc too. I agree in accountability for medical negligence, but we need to stop associating the initials M.D. with God. They are not God's and they are not without error. It is the patients responsibility to ask questions, express concerns, and look elsewhere when things aren't right. I respect your opinion about your surgery experience, however, I do not agree with lumping all surgeons in Mexico as incompetent.

you would think that someone who graduated from Harvard would be smart enough not to go to Meixco before they researched their doc. I recently decided to begin my endevour into lapbanding and I have spent about 8hours of the last week doing research and I don't plan do get banded until the end of the year. Look what community college did for me Harvard man. I find your stereotyping incredibly to the Mexican surgeons who spent just as much time getting their education as what the U.S. doc did.
