I really messed up on pre diet
Heather Alexandra replied to Oceanlove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can relate to this. I messed up on my liquid diet as well but I spoke with my surgeon and we decided it was best to extended the surgery. Throughout this whole process I learned that in order to succeed you do need help. I was an emotional eater and now I speak with a therapist about things. This has helped me so much. I highly recommend it to anyone going through this process. -
I went for my weigh on Friday and I was 3lbs short of the goal weight for my surgery. I’m feeling a little discouraged right now. They made another weigh in appointment for the 13th and put me back on solid food for a week then back to the liquid diet. I’m so ready for a surgery date. Anyone else had this issue?

Did anyone else feel dizzy and like they were going to throw up on the liquid diet? I’m on day four or five and not feeling the best. I don’t see my doctor again until the 29th.

Shew.. That first day was tough. But I got through it. I was curious to see the effects and stepped on the scale, down 2 lbs. I thought there was no way. I wanted to say thank you to everyone that gave me their advice about the liquid diet. When I felt like breaking it I went back and read the comments. I go for my final weigh in on the 29th and only need to lose 5 more lbs before then so my surgeon can send my file to my insurance company for approval. Seeing those -2lbs this morning has motivated me today and so far I'm doing great. I am more determined than ever to lose the weight and have the sleeve done. I decided to use my Instagram as a way of holding myself accountable on my journey. Feel free to follow me and I'd love to follow any of you that are doing the same. Instagram: hcockerham7

Two week pre op liquid diet?
Heather Alexandra replied to Red Alicia's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It depends on the surgeon. Mine required a 2 week diet and I seen some only do a 3 day. I would speak with your surgeon about it. -
Day 2 liquid diet and a Thank you
Heather Alexandra replied to Heather Alexandra's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you so much. Food was definitely an ex best friend to me as well. I’ve been finding other things to keep me busy and have realized that through this process I ate out of boredom as well. Staying busy is a major tool I’m using through this 14 day process. I agree it is mind over matter. Personal Development books have helped with thAt. I have my weigh in on the 29th. Fingers crossed I lost enough weigh to send off to my insurance company and they approve. -

Day 2 liquid diet and a Thank you
Heather Alexandra replied to Heather Alexandra's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I found that when I started to want solid food I would turn to chewing gum or sip on water. As for coping with my feeling I workout, read a book, write, and a few other things. The main thing for me was to find positive coping skills that worked for me. -
Day 2 liquid diet and a Thank you
Heather Alexandra replied to Heather Alexandra's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I felt the same way you do. So many thoughts went through my head. I was so afraid of failure. If I can do it anyone can. I used food as a way of dealing with my feelings and that was the hardest part for me. If you find yourself struggling and want to talk reach out to me. I’ll be more than happy to go through this with you. -
Hey loves. I wanted to do a quick update. My doctor placed me on a 2 week liver shrinking diet and tomorrow is Day 1. I feel so blessed to have finally made it this far. 8 months of struggling with my weight going up and down but I did it. My boyfriend is actually done a 180 and is also doing the liquid diet with me. I wanted to thank you each for the comments on my last post and the advice you gave. It really meant alot and gave me the push I needed. We are stocked up on broth, protein shakes, jello, and etc. Any advice for those that are going through the liquid diet? SW:320 CW: 309

Have you purchased any goal clothing for after surgery?
Heather Alexandra replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought a dress. It hangs were I can see it for motivation. When I feel like skipping a workout or having a cheat day, it’s there to remind me what I’m working towards. -
Hello Everyone, I am new to this site and was told that this was a great place to find encouragement and motivation. I am struggling with losing the last 10 lbs for my surgeon to send my file to my insurance company for approval. Those that are close to me tell me what I need to do but none of them really support me. I am an emotional eater so I struggle not to turn to food when I feel lost and that no one supports my decision to lose the weight. My boyfriend gets upset when I refuse to eat out and he often eats in front of me. He continuous eats and it makes it hard for me to buy food for myself. The protein drinks I buy for myself he drinks at night and in the mornings. Advice anyone.....
