I waited until my one week post op appt with my surgeon. My husband was with me and of course he had to ask! We were told as long as I'm feeling up to it then go ahead...just be gentle! The last thing you want is to get your insides bounced all over the place 😄

I'm a little over 4 weeks post gastric sleeve. My stomach ALWAYS feels like it is growling/gnawing/gurgling or something. I've been on omeprazole daily since surgery. Is this common? Anyone else have this?

You are not alone! I had surgery Jan 9th and went through the same thing! It will pass. The first 2 weeks were rough just being on liquids and feeling so bloated, like I was 10 months pregnant, the gas pains , "growling" (gurgling) stomach, the second guessing my decision and fear of failure...yep...pretty common! Keep coming to this forum and read others testimonies so you know you are not alone! -
Thanks everyone for your replies! The pill is actually a caplet...Zoloft...I'm not sure if it can be crushed but I will check on that! Trying it with pudding is another great idea ☺️

YES! I actually felt it when I stuck my finger down my throat to induce vomiting 😫 but it wasn't in a position where I could sweep it out.

OMG am I the only one who has had the misfortune of getting pills stuck in their throat? I've never had a problem taking pills before. Tonight is the third time I've gotten one stuck in my throat and I don't know why. Im taking it with plenty of water. It's hard not to panic when you feel it and start getting a burning sensation. I walk around, sip water, sip warm liquid (all things my surgeon's office told me to do) and it doesn't help. I then ate a few small pieces of bread with peanut butter on it (again, recommended by surgeon's office). Tonight I tried making myself throw up and when I stuck my finger down my throat I actually felt the pill but it wasn't where I could scoop it out. Instead, I gagged and threw up liquid but no pill! Anyone else?

I drink Premier Protein ready to drink shakes....my favorite is caramel!

Thanks for sharing!

I'm not crazy about the protein shakes myself, they all seem to leave an aftertaste however I came across a "recipe" on Pinterest for a Butterfinger protein shake that is delicious! I use one vanilla Premier Protein shake, one tbsp. sugar free butterscotch pudding mix, and one tbsp. PB fit peanut butter powder...mix together real good and allow to chill so the pudding sets up a bit...DELICIOUS!!!

So here I am 2.5 wks post-op, on pureed foods, and trying to get in enough liquids and protein but it's not easy. Before surgery I loved water, always kept a huge mug of ice water with me and chugged it all day long. NOW I don't like the taste of it! I thought maybe the filter on my water faucet wasn't working properly so I started drinking bottled water that someone bought...nope...still does NOT taste good to me How does that happen?!
-
Thank you so much for your reply! That is a relief because I was thinking something didn't go right with my surgery
-
I'm eating 4 oz of pureed foods right now and I DON'T feel full on that! I was freaking out about it until I read other's comments regarding not feeling restriction until you get to solid foods. As far as water...I used to love it before surgery, drank lots of it everyday, but now I don't like the taste! How does that happen?!

That sounds delicious! Thank You

You are too funny! Always a great sense of humor in your replies I have to ask what is "pot liquor?"
