HI all, I am having surgery on July 10th 2018 and am struggling to find multivits in the UK. I know many surgeons (including mine) recommend to take Forceval but when I compared the amount of vits and minerals in it with that of Multivitamins designed specifically for bariatric surgery, the Forceval has much lower amounts of pretty much everything. I've tried shipping some vits in from Bariatric Advantage (from mainland Europe) but after spending £200 they never arrived and am struggling to get my money back. So for this reason I'm reluctant to order from another overseas supplier. What multivits are people taking in the UK? or are you just sticking to Forceval and maybe doubling up on them? Im a bit worried about developing deficiencies post surgery.

Hi all, sorry but has anyone else noticed that the colour of their urine has changed colour since starting the pre op diet? Im two weeks into the diet (total four weeks to do) which includes three protein shakes and one meal a day but I have noticed that my urine is almost neon yellow! is this a side effect of the shakes or something? (and no, its definitely not an STI or other infection, i get tested regularly)

@HappyMode2018 sounds like you're doing well. my pre op diet is similar -and my surgery is the day before yours. I also started my diet early but did fall off the wagon early on. back on track now though and have been for two weeks now.

Yes I have. I've been taking a multivitamin (centrum) and biotin for the last month which I wasnt taking before. Do you think that could be the culprit?

Mine required a 4 week pre op diet but it includes one meal a day. im in the middle of it now and have two more weeks to go before surgery. I really struggled in the beginning and cheated twice. But once i stopped seeing things from a lack perspective and thought about the amazing opportunity I have ahead of me (plus did some venting on this site) I was able to get back on track and now I'm at the point where I am forgetting to have my shake lol. Also losing on average a pound a day which is great!! Its a small price to pay and entirely doable. good luck

HI all, I am due to have VSG surgery on July 10th and I am currently in the pre-op diet phase. However I am struggling with it massively. I have successfully managed to kick my 15-a-day smoking habit and am now almost 3 weeks smoke free. I'm really proud of this. My surgeon has recommended a four week pre op diet that is not liquid based but is low carb. I actually started my pre op diet just under two weeks early and all was going really well until this week. I just cant seem to remain in the same swing of things and it is all a struggle this week. I completely messed up more than once and have ended up stuffing my face with various foods on two occasions. This isnt helped by having numerous people around me who readily encourage binge drinking and poor eating habits. I'm currently living in a small community away from my home due to work and am surrounded by people who arent my usual friends. We arent close and I therefore haven't told any of them about the upcoming surgery (the gossip culture here is quite bad) nor do I plan on telling any of them. Im not looking fr sympathy and this isnt a pity party post. I am aware of the seriousness of surgery and the need for me to follow my eating plan pre and post op so please not lecturing replies about that... its just not helpful. The reason I'm posting this is as I'm thinking that perhaps not having people here to talk to about things and having to bottle things up is making things worse. So I thought I would post this in a bid to relieve some of the tension and stress I've been holding onto. I'm just having a really **** few days, struggling with my eating, feeling a bit lonely and needed to acknowledge that somewhere! sigh!!

It really did help to just say/write how I was feeling. @Matt Z you're right, it is up to me to take control. @Katbad I had been so hard on myself but things are much brighter today. I acknowledged my humanness and pressed the reset button. @browneyez42 Its really is good to know that there are others out there who know and understand. This isn't an easy road... but i guess we all know that right? Thanks you guys for being listening ears (or reading eyes?!?)

Ooh I'm july 10th as well. It looks like there are a few of us on that date or the day after.

When it comes to work I think that our health needs to be prioritised... especially when it is life saving surgery! Please dont put an employer or anything work related before you own health needs when they would replace you in a nanosecond if you were incapacitated or dropped dead (of course im not wishing this on you at all).
