  1. Okay, well, I have decided tonight that I can't pretend to be something I am not (it's okay, dee, u may be my only friend after this:smile2:) This week has been a difficult one for staying on a diet as last Saturday, Oct. 11, I married someone I have been committed to for 24 years. Her name is Janet Lynne, and we had the most beautiful of ceremonies. I don't know people's politics here, but I do know that I have felt a closeness and support system I have not had elsewhere. If the fact that I am gay and have married my longterm partner has offended others, I guess I can refrain from posting here. However, that would make me sooooo sad, but I feel enough prejudice in my everyday life to withstand it on line. Hopefully, those of us who have felt the ugly tongue of hate for our weight will not subject that same pain on those of us who bear that ache for whom we love.
  2. Hi, everyone, I have been gone for a week, so i haven't had time to read all these pages...sheesh... My last week's (10/10) loss was 5 pounds:lol::frown: I will have to weigh in the morning for this week's numbers. Don't think they will be as good as this past week was a vacation, in every sense of the word:frown:. Went to Manzanita, a cool little town on the northern Oregon coast. We even took Tucker down to the beach one day. Couldn't stay long as it was windy and he really wanted to chase sticks and we can't have that with his Lar-Par. It made him very sad, but he did get to plod around in the sand! Every time we went out to eat, my desire was for halibut fish and chips or a chipolte-jalapeno-swiss cheeseburger with fries; but my brain said "no"....cup of seafood chowder or a side salad with clam chowder. No deep fried foods. At the vacation house, I would fix a small taco salad or 2 pieces of ravioli with half of a fresh tomato. However, a couple of nights I did imbibe white wine. Oh, well, home now and back to serious stuff!
  3. Sounds as if things are looking up! Does it make u wonder if it might have been your x that called animal control? Hmmmm..
  4. Sorry to hear that:frown:. You and yours are in my thoughts and am sending u hugs as I type this.
  5. Congrats Dee and daughter!!! Good job!:tt2::thumbup::frown:
  6. Hey, Mal, Tucker wants to thank Buster soooo much for the presents!!:frown::thumbup::w00t::tt2: He LOVES the treats! Man, oh, man....and the JRT's are jealous! The tag is darling!! He can't wear a collar now, but I am going to put it on a long ribbon and wear it on special occasions:rolleyes2: I might be able to figure out something for him, too, but I don't want him to lose it. Thanks again; you are so thoughtful.
  7. Mini: down 2.2 this week. I forget what goal I set for this challenge! Sheesh! Not much happening up here in Northwest, except fall has truly set in with the rain. Hope all of you are well.:tt2:
  8. U will be at the top of the heap when it comes to interviewees. We can't do anything about ignorant people. We need to come back to this site and express ourselves. Here we receive the truth in response. Oh, Mini, I am so relieved you received good news for a change. Dee, thank gawd you continue to see the best in life, in others; your words are such balm to those of us in heartache. How about just one on a bark collar and then moving it around? Maybe they would get confused on who has it and who doesn't??:smile2:
  9. I have some restriction; not sure how much one is supposed to feel. I just put a limited amount of food on my plate and that's it! haven't been eating in between meals or anything, but haven't really lost much either. Oh, well... I have you and yours in my heart. Not yet, Dee....let us know about the interview. How helpless you must feel at this point. Dork's comments about being damned if u do, and damned if u don't ring true. Keep us posted. No one person's issues are more or less "petty" than anyone else's. We all have something at some time that seems to overwhelm us. The issue isn't the big deal: it is the feeling of being overwhelmed. That's why we come to this thread as we know we will find others who are compassionate and helpful. Hang in there, girl.
  10. Lap: beautiful picture....wow Dee: what a lot of good info you got! Sounds like this dr. is a keeper! Munch: man, that is just shitty....i would think there would be recourse given the animal control outfit knew when you got the last one. Those people will get theirs. True, probably not when u will be able to see it or appreciate it, but know it will happen. Denver: Dr. K just says flowing, soft food for however long it takes....12-24 hours. Just don't go and try to eat a 72 ounce steak! good luck
  11. Patty, so glad you checked in, but am saddened to hear of the difficulties you and yours are facing. You are in my thoughts.
  12. I agree a billion percent! Best place to be and the best ladies ever!~ Youtube is the place! i SO agree......love the "bluegas"
  13. Glad to hear daughter is doing well. Casino results? Not so good. Oh, well, it is always fun to get together with my folks, particularly my mom and her crazy sister! Congrats! Welcome to this fantastic site with fantastic women:thumbup:
  14. Hey, guys! Lots of activity in two days!! Adork: great pix! How old are you....12???? U don't look old enough to be married...sheesh.... Mal, I will pm my address to you. Took folks to casino yesterday. Not a financially solvent move, but good bonding with the family. I was sooooo tired from trip to Denver on Tues. that I slept most of Wed. and then got busy on stuff on Thurs. I got up at 3am to get folks to casino by 5:30, but had a sore throat. On plane ride home, people were hacking and snorting everywhere! I am sure that and the tiredness I was (am ) feeling contributed to getting a cold. Oh, well, first time sick this year. Took a 3 hour nap today am so worn. Weight challenge: glad to say since first fill I am down 3 pounds! Tucker is doing AMAZINGLY well now. Eating without coaxing and eating lots! Coat is back to a beautiful brown shine and he is even rollin' on his back and kickin' out his legs! We are on the upswing here!
  15. It was 3.1 in a 10 band. I have decided I am going to get out my ol' Richard Simmons dvd today and start in. Gotta do sumthun' You are lookin' great.....just a mood, I am sure You are right about keeping quiet. We don't need anymore pressure from people "watching" us. We are hard enough on ourselves Our talk meant a lot to me, too, Dee. Again, thanks for your openness and acceptance. I think I would rethink the order of beer and soda. Man, I miss a cold beer....pop, not so much! You get EMAIL from them???:scared2: That is too scary! Dee, check for a PM from me.
  16. My vote is definitely the black one! Well, after sleeping in way late this morning, I drank my meals today (protein shake, water, juice) as I wasn't sure about having my first fill. Just finished dinner: 2 pieces of spinach ravioli with tblsp of basil sauce: it was too much! So i guess I am restricted!!! Now if I could only get myself to move:w00t:
  17. Dee and Nora: It was great meeting the two of you! What beautiful women you are! Dee: Thanks for being so open and sharing; you are a remarkable role model for your daughter. (Hope she got the "old woman" trained on the register; did she sneak home any bread?) Well, yesterday was one long one. Left Portland at 7am and returned at midnight. Lots of sittin' and readin' in between; plus almost 6 hours sitting in an airplane. The amount of water retained in my ankles could irrigate a small desert nation! Sheesh.....:girl_hug: Hopefully, this first fill will get me back on the losers' bench. Congrats to Brandy and Lotza. You guys inspire the rest of us to keep going!!
  18. Yay!!!!!!!!:tt2::sneaky: We live in Portland, but go to central Oregon once a month for a few days. Beautiful little girl! Mini: I am riding the same train you are: gained 4 lbs since yesterday!:girl_hug::thumbs_down::sad::sad::biggrin: I have been mixing up caloric intake from 400 to 1200 calories a day. I am getting so discouraged. Hopefully, my first fill on Tuesday will help. It will, won't it??? Please tell me yes:crying:
  19. oh, boy, i hope you are prepared. what you see on tv is nuthin' compared to her nightclub act!! Funny and soooo politically incorrect for every group of people! In Utah??? Wow, she will have some choice words about that! Can't wait to hear a report!
  20. We have 3 acres at Crooked River Ranch which is between Madras and Redmond. Have views of 10 mountains: from Jefferson to Bachelor. Love it there! A whole year, wow! Keep your eye on the prize, so to speak Glad to hear it wasn't slippage. Don't even worry about weight gain or loss right now. You and hubby are the focus...mental and physical health. Well, I can't seem to get anything going in the right direction, Mini; am up 1.2 pounds this week. :crying::thumbdown:
  21. Love the tat...man, how many hours of pain did you have to endure? Rene, some of the women are meeting me next Tuesday when I come to Denver for my first fill. Dee and Denver know the name and location of the place. I'd love to meet you:smile2: Tucker is getting stronger everyday. He still is picky about his food: i am feeding him 2 scrambled eggs mixed with hot dogs and cheese twice a day. Not particularly healthy, I suppose, but he won't eat hamburger anymore nor will he touch dog food! He has an acupuncture appointment in the morning; hopefully that will help.
  22. I have looked at it and last week started entering stuff, but then we went to the cabin and now it has been a week. I have to start again. My fat calories are always high and I am not so sure as to why. I will look more closely. Still kinda gettin' the hang of the site. I think I would love your mom! Great retaliation:tongue2: Is that Jackie DeShannon singing in the background?:crying: Oops, you are too young to probably get the reference. "There are cornfields and wheatfields enough to grow.....what the world needs now, is love, sweet love..." Brandy, so glad to hear you are back. Sending lots of positive thoughts to your husband and your family. Remember to take care of yourself too. No.
  23. I'm sure what Dee said about non-fasting tests will be the case and you will be just fine:smile2: Congrats on the video gig! my gosh, the UN!! How impressive:lol: Hey, I say go for it! Make their lives a legal nightmare!! Heck, you could probably continue postponing into 2010 the way lawyers work! Don't let them run u out of your home!! Get those foster kids!! One of my JRT's is names Scout (after To Kill a Mockingbird), but often we call her Scooter. I had a friend who nicknamed their small male terrier Scooter for the....uh...butt problems:blush: Great advice! Dee, I am so glad we have a knowledgable medical woman here. Your comments are always so insightful. Thanks:laugh: Okay, now I need to vent. I have lost nothing (gained .8 yesterday) since the great scales debacle a couple of weeks ago! My body can't still be doing its "starvation" mode after a month of eating this way, can it?? Arghhhh:angry_smile: Suggestions?
  24. congrats on that! I didn't save anything from ideal weight days (after all, what looked good on an 8 year old 50 years ago probably wouldn't be stylish today!) Congrats to you. You will be fine. the staff are all super. Forgot to post: down 1.4 for first week. my mask makes me crazy and the indents are truly not attractive:angry: congrats! you will be joining us on the loser's bench before you know it. too funny:lol: my thoughts are with you. No weirdness. We call Dollie (pictured) Olga Korbut and narrate her gymnastic moves. Plus we caution her about losing that girlish figure and falling off the balance beam.
  25. I have your number. I get in to Denver about 11am and am renting a car. I am traveling alone. Did I give u my cell no.?
