Need reassurance about when I will feel restriction
bakerbunch replied to michiganer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Kat, Thank you so much for this reply, this is great information. Really helps me with my mind set, this is what I am hoping for with my journey. I go for my 2nd fill next friday and am hoping I can get that restriction you are talking about. Again thanks so much for taking the time to share, this is a great write up, I am going to print it out and keep it in my wallet for when I get discouraged. Renee -
Need reassurance about when I will feel restriction

I am feeling the same way all of you are, however I was banded in April 2008 and have lost 30 pounds to date with only 1 fill, so I do have a ways to go to catch up with alot of you as far as # of fills go. I do have a question though, if some of these people have 9cc bands and are already filled to 7.5 or 8ccs at such an early stage in weight loss, what happens when they really start to loose and the band loosens up but its already at capacity, then what?? Then your just stuck with willpower and be glad it got the weight off that it did?? Just a question, maybe I am missing something. -
How did you choose your goal weight?
bakerbunch replied to Bobbirs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not really put any magic thought into it, I really would like to weight about 135, I am 5'8 and feel that would be a nice, comfortable place for me. However, it is just amazing to me for the small amount of weight I have lost how well I feel already, I was banded on 4/24, and have lost 28lbs to date and I am just full of energy all day long. Feeling really good already! -
Banded Monday May12th
bakerbunch replied to sbdlady1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 4/24 and had to try several soups to get to my happy place, never really very happy, but as happy as one can be on liquids alone. Never really cared for the popsicle thing either, even though they were sugar free they were to sweet tasting to me, sounds weird but true. My port area was pretty uncomfortable up until about a week and a half ago and now I am feeling back to my old self, just a little lighter on the toes. This must have been the bander hell stage I read about. -

I had an appointment for my pre-op with him last week and my surgery is scheduled for next Thursday, seemed like a real great guy, yes he was quick with his talk but very thorough. Will keep you posted. How did your appointment turn out??
