Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

Thank you so much! I am going to get in contact with them for sure. It started lightly bleeding and that’s when I started to kind of freak out.

Hey fellow sleevers. So I had my surgery June 6th and had my staples taken out June 20th. My largest incision has re opened and I’m wondering if this is something I need to go back in for. I have tried steri stripping it back together and because of where it is it won’t stay on at all. Have any of you guys had your wounds re open?? I’ll attach a photo. I’m mostly worried about infection more than anything.

The binder is like a wrap some surgeons wrap you in right after surgery. It helps with the incisions and gravitational pull on your stomach. It just wraps around your stomach. I love mine.
  5. Girl I feel you!! I was so nervous the few days before my surgery. I can help you as much as I can! I had surgery the 6th. After I had surgery, I could only tolerate room temp water. Cold can make your new stomach cramp. Mine still cramps with really cold liquids. Warm broth is really good too. I had a really hard time with the protein shakes and still do. But you gotta get protein in so try your best to get them down. Eating, you don’t. Lol I have my post op appointment tomorrow and I am still on full liquids aside from cottage cheese. I had to eat it with steroids I had to take due to a complication. One tip I have is take the pain meds they give you. If you try and be tough you will regret it I promise. Message me if you ever want to talk!

I had the same issue. I wanted all the foods lol but you’re right it’s a lifestyle change. I had surgery the 6th and it made me realize how much and how often I was eating insane amounts of food. The food restriction is a huge mental game. Even now I’m not hungry but my brain tells me I am and had cravings. We call it head hunger. But don’t worry. I encourage you to indulge your last few days before the liquid diet. It’s honestly really hard so enjoy your last unhealthy supper
  7. I don’t think that one can even know if that’s something that would be needed. Weight loss is different for everyone and I personally think it should be the last resort as it makes you get the right mindset for successful outcomes after surgery. She may get older and form her own healthy habits, who knows. Not really my place to even think about.
  8. I’d absolutely love to support and help each other out. I’m the same way and would love to keep in contact. You can add me on Facebook or anything else and we can keep talking 😊 Justine McKail
  9. My follow up is Tuesday too, I haven’t left the full liquid phase yet. I crave texture too, I’m just so scared of it hurting lol l. I will talk to them about the vitamins when I go in on Tuesday.

I am the exact same way, had surgery June 6th. I am very weak too. I think a big part of it is just our bodies getting used to an extremely low caloric intake. The warm weather just sucks up any water I drink. One thing I found is super weird is that I am freezing ALL THE TIME. I wear a jacket or am in a blanket most of the day. Anyone else have that happening?

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

I actually started the day after surgery and I hadn’t had a cycle since December due to my PCOS. I personally think it’s from the blood thinners. But I’m with you there! As for stomach cramping, I still get stomach cramping with cold liquids. I have to have room temp or warm still and I’m nearly 2 weeks out.
  12. I am the exact same way. The incisions don’t hurt as much much getting up and down and bending over hurts still. I also had a gnarly allergic reaction and I got a horrible rash all over my stomach that makes my incisions irritated. I gave staples holding mine together. How many incisions do you have? And yes. Those damn protein shakes are so gross. I just hate them. I’m so sick of the liquids deal but inexperience enough discomfort with water though to keep me away from anything else. I haven’t started any of my vitamins yet. I know I’m going to be on Vit D 10000 units daily. But I’m not sure what else. What about you?
  13. I am doing okay! It’s been a lot different than I had expected. I’m still pretty sore and uncomfortable and eating has been such a struggle. I can’t seem to get protein in. And cold liquids are super painful/uncomfortable. How are you doing?

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

Hey lovelies! Surgery day was June 6th and I am struggling with protein shakes. I can’t seem to get them down. Also cold liquids HURT. I have had some Greek yogurt and have had a few attempts at some cream soups. I also had to try some cottage cheese due to a complication I had to take some super strong steroids for. Also is anyone else struggling with eating? I feel like I’m not as progressed as many of you. Tips??
  15. Hey there! My name is Justine and I am 20 years old and am currently 1 week 3 days post op from VSG. I am looking to find some people who are younger recipients of having a VSG. It’s been really hard not having anyone to talk with about surgery stuff and nutrition now. I would love to create a support group/accountability group! Let me know if anyone is interested!
