Did any of you experience loss of appetite during 2 wk liquid diet pre-op?
Luzbella replied to Luzbella's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes I am! So very much excited. I get super angry too! At the most simple thing. I will be there at 5:00-5:30 am. Surgery at 6:00. -
I bought all the same things! How weird is that? IDK about you, but I am ready! Just want Monday to get here already! How are you feeling in general? Yesterday was a bad day for me. I was a bit dizzy and had a bit of a headache. Must be the humidity. I was out running some errands and by the time I was back home, my head wanted to explode. Not today, I;m staying in relaxing in the AC and grooming. With everything done on my pre and post list, it's time for me. After my morning workout, I let my notifications remind me to drink H2O and my shakes, to walk, and am going to relax and do me. Today is manicure and pedicure. Tomorrow I plan to do facial and eyebrows and Friday my hair. What are you doing to make the days easier and faster for you?

Well its day 9 on this 2wk liquid diet and today it’s kicking my booty! I feel dizzy and light headed. I know I’m hydrated because I’ve been drinking 80oz of water a day, plus my 3 shakes and small frozen meal (

I'm still 9 days pre-op, but I've read that it is very difficult the first few days. Good luck and don't stop trying to get your liquids in. Even if its just an ounce every thirty minutes. Try protein water to get some protein in. Keep us posted. I believe in you. You got this girl.

I was doing the same thing all day. I am on my 6th day of my 2 wk liquid diet. I kind of feel as if I'm nesting. Cleaned out my closet and got rid of a lot of clothes I will soon not fit. I just left enough to use the first 2 months, and after that (hoping before that) they will begin to fall off of me. I even bought a gorgeous jewelry chest. Its close to 3.5' and I put some jewelry in it, but plan to fill it up when I start buying clothes. God knows I can't wait to go shopping. Anyway, it's been hard, but I've been drinking about 80 oz of water a day and in between my shakes, I've had an occasional cup of hot broth. I helps with the hunger pains. Time seems to be passing faster than what I expected. I try to wake up late and go to bed early. I sleep 8-9 hrs at night and keep busy all day. I know that before we know it our special date will be upon us. Come on July 30th.

How much did you loose on your 2 week pre op diet?
Luzbella posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good day Today I began my 2 wk liquid diet. I have to take 3 shakes a day, (Proti Max) which I purchased at my doctor's office, and a light meal. In following my doctor's suggestions to the T, I chose to buy the frozen kind. (I.E. Lean Cuisine, Smart One, Healthy Choice) Now with some simple math, that's about 100 calories per shake, (3 shakes x 100 calories = 300 calories) and the meals I purchased, none have over 200 calories. That would give me a 500 calorie input per day for 14 days. I'm hoping for some weight loss during these two weeks before surgery. How much weight did you all loose? What was the most difficult part of this two week diet? -

I did research for about 2 years before I made up my mind on what to have and go see the surgeon. I researched the surgeons in the area and their success records. When I went to my appointment, I knew exactly what I wanted and Dortor Pohl agreed with me. I found that a large amount of people that got the sleeve went back years later to get the RNY. I knew what I wanted and that this was a final decision. So its what I'm getting. I don't know why it sais I'm self pay. I have to fix that. I pay for my insurance $334.00 a month and my co payments and out of pocket expenses are crazy, so in a way I am paying a lot, but my insurance covers most of it.

Is it just me, or did anyone else feel this excited to have their pre-admission testing date arrive? It make this so much more real. Like I'm not dreaming and this is really happening! This is just like the night before my wedding rehearsal

Pre-Op done!

Hi, Yes a two week pre-op diet. Yes I knew why, but thanks for the info. It's good in case anyone else reads it and does not know why. About the caffeine addiction. I weaned my self out of it. I was drinking 6-10 cups of coffee everyday. Black. I knew that I was not going to be able to drink it post-op and did not want to suffer any headaches or anything else, and I hate decaf. I mean, if it has no caffeine, why drink it?) So I started only drinking 5 cups a day for 2 weeks, then I went to 4 and repeated until I reached 1 cup a day. Then, I did that for 1 week and the following week only half a cup for 2 weeks. Then I began skipping a day without coffee, then 2, then 3 and so on. Will I pick it up afterwards? Um??? Maybe, but not to where I was. A good cup a day will be good.

Good luck! It IS getting VERY excited.

What a great idea! Thank you and I will. My surgery date is actually July 30th. I start my liquid diet on the 16th.

I've always been a happy person. My motto is "Happiness & Joy" I'm happily married and the mother of 4 grown children. I am also the grandmother of 3 beautiful and active little girls. It is for them and the grandchild that's due this Christmas 2018, that I decided it was time to get healthy. I want to run with my husband! (He is a marathon runner.) I want to play sports with the kids and make sure my grandchildren grow up in a healthy and active lifestyle. These are pictures of my happy self and happy moments... Very soon I will have a new album of my happy & healthy self.
