Hi all,
I first started on Bariatric Pal to do research on the gastric sleeve surgery but it has turned into more than that now. I realized after surgery that I would like to help those who are starting out like me and want someone to answer their raw questions honestly.
I was nervous about starting my journey because of one reason: my insurance doesn't cover this surgery. Once I found that out, I knew that if I was serious about having this done, there was a good possibility that it would have to be done in another country. That alone frightened me. My fright turned into motivation and once I began to research surgeons outside of the United States, I realized that I shouldn't be scared anymore. I booked my surgery with Dr. Liza Maria Pompa in Tijuana, MX. It was between her and the OCC but Dr. Pompa was able to fit me into a date where my Husband and I were both off from work and that's why I went with her and also because everything that I read about her was positive and I really liked her center of excellence. I also asked prior patients of hers about everything I had seen and everyone I found online had great experiences with her. So I urge you to ask me any questions! I will answer them honestly. I've been through the pre-op diet and am now post op, here on July 4th, missing out on all the BBQ's as I sip my water & protein shakes and a list of meds that will now be by best friend (lol).
