utsupatel got a reaction from Bastian in I haven't told anyone about my surgery
I completely relate to what you experienced. All my life everyone has been complaining about my weight. I did not tell everyone only my room mate who came with me coz she didn't want me to take risk by myself and a handful of friends who stay here with me. I don't have family with me here. When i told my dad he was happy with my decision about what i went through, 4 5 yrs back which was the perfect time for this thing to be done he did not allow me i was too small to take my own decision but now i can take my own decision and i did which he appreciated, when my mom came to know it was huge drama. But guess what i don't really care because after what trauma , taunts, depression and much more that i had for 27yrs, i took this decision and i am not here to listen to anyone anymore. I recently got engaged/married. My in-laws know about my surgery and so does my husband. They all are very supportive , though its limited to the 2 families now.
People are so mean around us , when you are obese they keep torturing you , when you eat less they keep torturing you that you don't eat enough. So what do you want from our lives.
I went back home for my engagement , stayed for almost 1.5 months. One good day my paternal grandmother said , now you should become as thin as your husband and it will be all good. My blood pressure shooted up , i felt like punching someone in face but guess what i don't want to argue or explain anything to anyone no more.
I am low esteemed sometimes coz i am not very very happy about my weight loss as compared to everyone but still better than nothing.
I don't know when was the last time i was in 90's KG , right now i am 93.5.
My wedding is in January 2020. I want to be in 70's till than. I hope it really works.

I would only say , you took decision for your life. Work on it, don't let anyone hurt you or point out anything about you anymore especially after going through so much. I relate the feeling and i exactly know what you are talking about. Kudos to your decision, you are brave.

I worried that I wasn't losing as quickly as I should in the first few months because everyone seems to have their biggest losses in the first 3-6 months and now suddenly it's starting to fall off. I guess something just triggers it or you hit that sweet spot of just the right amount of calories and exercise. Apparently my sweet spot is around 600 calories. But you're healthier now, right? That's a blessing!

Welcome to the site. Congrats on all your weight lost!
Comparing stats can bring you down and make you a bit crazy. Stop doing it. Some of us lose slow. It's that fact you are losing weight, not the speed..
As @GreenTealael suggested. The weight loss challenge is great for support and motivation to stay on track.
Weight loss surgery is not the easy way out. When the honeymoon phase of easy weight loss is over, you realize that this is work. With he sleeve you will feel less restriction over time. This is normal. You can/will still lose weight.
Time to get back on track. WLS basics - Weigh and log food, hydrate and activity/exercise.

I was sleeved on june 4th 2018. I have not reached 100lbs milestone yet. I am feeling low and unmotivated as if the surgery was of no use to me. I was 267lbs pre-op . Currently i am 205lbs. Everyone is talking about loosing this much and that much. I feel as if i am the only one with such stalls and unsuccessful story.
I want to loose at least 40 to 50lbs more.
I am not happy about the fact that sometimes i can eat more and sometimes just lil. I don't know if it's right or not.
Probably everyone was right you loose the most in first 6 month and than its difficult. For me it was first 3 months and thats it.
I am not sure how to proceed what to do. I am just getting depressed.

Hello Everyone, just wanted to touch base with my fellow May sleevers. I am curious about results thus far and calorie intake. I am receiving conflicting information from my doctor (who says I should consume 1000 calories a day) and my nutritionist (who says I should consume 700 calories a day).
I have been struggling and frustrated with my progress. I know where I need to tighten things up but am looking for support and encouragement.
I have lost 28 pounds since my surgery on May 2nd. 41 pounds down from my highest weight.

    HW: 219
    Surgery Weight: 205
    Current Weight: 177

I wouldn’t weigh yourself daily if the scale helps to dictate your mood. Try a weekly weigh in instead.

Stalls are especially common after weight loss surgery. Someone on this board even coined the phrase "Embrace the Stall".

I am 26yrs old. I wanted to get this surgery done since 4 5yrs but my family was not supporting. I was back home at that time. Kept asking my parents they didn't approve it. I took my decision. I am proud of myself that i took my own decision for good. My roommate supported me even if she was against it. She accompanied me for Surgery. I lost 9kgs im 13days. Hoping for things to go smooth. I want to answer people who always made me realise that even after having everything i had one thing missing in my life , I am fat. Well wait and watch now. My dad is very happy after i told him about this surgery. Waiting for some good outcomes to tell my mom about it.
I hope it is a life changing for us
