Tried to get Lap band over a year ago but doctor said i wasn't a good candidate.Now i am thinking about going to another doctor to get another opinion.I just got to lose the weight.Everything gets harder as i get older.Food doesn't mask my problems anymore...Fast food lost its appeal in 1/1/2010...i can eat anything healthy i like it. The fast food makes me feel bad(weird). I guess my body was telling me something...I feel ready to take the plunge.I asked my PC Doc to start the process...JERRY

The doctor said because i didn't eat that much ,so he said i wasn't a good candidate.I didn't like him much.So i think i will try again:redface: JERRY

The doctor said ,i wasn't a good candidate for the Lap Band. He recommends RNY. I don't know about that ,will see... JERRY P.S. He said he would still do it though.:smile2:

The way i eat. He said if i ate a lot,fast and double portions it be for me if not go with the RNY .I don.t so... RNY? Confusing... i do sometimes over do it but usually eat less and less.

Was on my way to getting a sonar of my gallbladder when my kidneys acted up.I am better so i am waiting for a date so i can get the sonar than i am not sure what is next? I am eager and anxious:bored: Let you all know when i know,ok?JERRY

I got approved by Omnicare/Health Net today .I must see a certain doctor by March 12,2009. I think he is in Lynwood,Ca. like my doctor.Now i got to see .I have been going to YMCA in Downey.It is fun and on Slim-Fast + protein only when i work out.I don't eat extra protein when i don't work out.too much protein can be bad and fatal.It can screw up and damage my kidneys being diabetic.So i'lll see what the doctor says.That was fast,2 weeks and they say YES.While i wait i will get into shape at the "Y".JERRY

My Doc said he would find someone in the list of participating doctors.That's phase 1.Blood glucose A1c test 5.6,I had another test and they have to check my Lithium levels.I am sure they will say,yes regarding the bariatric surgery:D:thumbup:

Would Lap Band fail if they find out i am Bi-Polar.Seeing as i have to talk to a shrink eventually.Maybe they will think ,i have too many problems? and say no.

Hi everyone been a while. Earlier this tear i was aiming for the Lap Band .I had everything they asked me.So there i was in the Doctors office and they said we don't deal with your insurance anymore??? I said screw it and left.A little depression and new insurance later and here i am.Going to my doctors 10/27.08 And will tell him to start the paper work to getting the lap band,again.I am not complaining but that was messed up! My insurance said ,they would cover it if the doctor ,deems it necessary and he does,yeah.So hello once again,to everyone.Part 2 of this journey.Hey i got Tylenol.

What is the purpose of a sleep study? When i was in icu in 1/1/06 and 4/5/06 i was diagnosed with sleep apnea already with Left ventrical dysfunction(congestive heart failure) from Unchecked high blood pressure.Complications from diabetes. I am hearing about pre dieting 6 months;my doc has been trying to get me to successfully lose weight since 02/01/02. With no success apparently.He is the one who is telling me about surgery.Some talk about exercise ,kinda hard right now with my heart condition.I have sufficient BMI and health complications from obesity.I am Disabled now ,SSI ,Medicare and Medi-cal are on the way.They just have to determine how much benefits i get.Anyday now ,then i will go to see my cardiologist and orientation at St.Marys, Long Beach,Ca.Because of Medicare(disability,I am not 65yrs old yet)and Medi-cal i will get Lap-Band no matter what with my background,that shouldn't be a problem.:thumbup: JERRY

I am going to get ssi ,medicare and medi-cal soon .I have been overweight since '75,I am 40 now and am obese, bmi at least 50. I am considering Lapband.I live in Downey California. About 3 cities to the east of L.A. ;and 1 city south.I am looking for suggestions on what to do 1st.I must wait for all my insurance to kick in. I am not sure when! I think nthey will let me have the surgery because of: diabetes ,sleep apnea,congestive heart failure,hypertension and other things. i have (will have shortly )medi-cal and medicare,with my problems ,i should get the surgery paid for with very little documentation. I have alot of medical problems,so they should wiz by everything.If i had just medicare ,i would need a doctors recommendation,for them to pay.I luckily have major problems attributed to my sickness.I also am getting medi-cal(medi-medi) so it will be easier for me.It took over 2 years to get ssi and medi-medi.I have a ? whats a PCP?I"ll look at the doctors site and Thank You!You and french vanilla helped alot.JERRY p.s. let me know how your surgery is going and i'll put all of you in my prayers.
