Global Warming: Real or hoax?

I tried watching and am not getting sound but it looks like Fox is claiming ice age, go figure! The funny thing is, it is Olbermann. One extreme to the other! -
Global Warming: Real or hoax?
loserbob replied to serenity55's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Im not 100% convinced it doesnt exist. I dont believe everything printed or written either. Everybody has an agenda. There are a few big supporters of the cause who were caught lying or skewing info to meet their agendas(Scientists, Al Gore). And like I said about Al Gore, how can he cry and support the cause then do nothing to change it in his everyday life? I dont want to repeat everything I've typed before but there are just too many inconsistencies with global warming! Whether China or India dont believe or dont care(probably dont care), we're being left behind. Did you ever think there would come a day when the U.S. had to worry about being passed by India? Its still far off and I in all reallity dont believe we will ever really be passed by either but the thought of us even discussing it is alarming in and of itself! As far as the website you posted above, I didnt watch because I look at it and see MSNBC and think they have their own agenda as wrong as it may be! It would be the same if it where CNN and especially Fox news but we know you'll never see it on Fox. Just like I believe Hannity and Beck are way over the top Ithink the same of Olberman. Im not sure of the 95% scientists believe either, maybe 95% of MSNBC scientists. I mostly watch and believe CNN(Anderson Cooper) who by the way needs to come out of the closet already, he gets pretty defensive about the issue!(different subject for a different day) As with everything else this subject is basically divided between libs, cons. Of course me being ind. Im not sure what to believe so Ill just go with the proven history of the earths climate changes until someone can prove with concrete evidence its not just the biggest scam to date! Cleo's, you see how everyday since the reps won more seats the Trib has printed about how the jobless benefits are lessening(todays issue) and how the economy will suddenly turn around in the next 2 years. When they where on the outside looking in, just saying "NO" to everything it was going to take at least 8-10 years! This is what I mean, everything is about politics! -

Global Warming: Real or hoax?

I did a job for people who used solar energy to power their house. The guy told me it cost him about $30,000.00 for the setup(he had his whole back yard and most of his roof full of panels. My friend lives on alot of property alongside a farm. Most farmers in the area have gas wells drilled on their property. He told me he could have a gas well drilled for about $10-15000.00 and alot of the cost was to clear property and put a pretty long road going to the well. I would think the well would be alot more cost effective in the long run and up front. Theres not much to a gas well, where as the solar panels are exposed to the weather. The guy with the solar also had natural gas to his house, sounds to me like this guy had too much money for his own good. -

When I was a kid in the late 70s-80s it was very rare for Florida oranges to freeze now its just a way of life, its not uncommon for Florida to hit the 20s-30s sometime during the winter. I believe Jack stated that records show the arctic ice shelves receeding since the 50s. Then why was there global cooling in the70s and why has global warming come about recently? It has been proven throughout the history of the earth that there have been both warming and cooling trends. The dinosauers died millions of years ago because of "the ice age"! -
Global Warming: Real or hoax?

Think about it, China and India's economies are prospering, growing at alarming rates why, among the many things these countries buy, buying into global warming isnt one of them! U.S.A., U.K., France, (European Union) have deteriorating economies growing at a snails pace if at all, why, we believe in global warming. So lets regulate our industry to the point where they cant afford to prosper here in turn leaving for China and India where there are no regulations! Now people in this country cant afford to buy cars because theyre way overpriced because of emissions regulations, oh and because there are no good paying jobs left here because they all went to China and India. In the 70-80s good paying industrial jobs where everywhere, now our leading field is the low paying service industry! In turn we will be falling behind China in 10-20 years because they werent stupid enough to buy into it! Basically the world still produces the same amount of pollutants (just the other side of the world now)which cause acid rain as it always did, oh no, thats what they called it in the 70-80s, I meant greenhouse gases, the ones that are eating away the ozone layer(because we had high hair in the 80s and needed alot of aerosol hairspray cans(see if we just would have used "the pump"), actually thats what it was called in the 80-90s(you get the picture here)its now betrween global warming leading to climate change! WHAT A MONEY MAKING CROCK! -

Your right about the no future in green jobs. Thats like E-ethynol gas made from corn. What a hoax, all it did was raised the price of corn(food in general) all over the world. George Bush admitted it was a mistake, among many things actually everytrhing he did! -

How can you be so sure the people putting these charts out dont have a vested interest in this. Dennis Miller had a Time magazine(I believe from 1970)It talked about global cooling on the cover! Al Gore confessed about lying about something recently I believe dealing with global warming. Penn State scientists were caught lying about skewed information regarding global warming. Like George Carlin said, how can throwing an aluminum can on the ground be considered littering, it came from mother nature to begin with! Not enough concrete evidence to support it . Al Gore still drives his big cars, flies his big jets.(dont tell me about buying carbon offsets, what the hell does that mean anyway?). I heard a few years ago that all of Gores house use more electricity in a year than most of Iraq! Again, its do as I say not as I do! Its just the curerent money maker. Theres never going to be a solution to solve the problem, just keep giving money to research. Just like diseases, there will never be a cure for cancer, aids, etc because theres no money in cures. They talk about how bad CO2 is but trees need it to survive and produce oxygen so we can survive. Cows "passing gas" is a big contributor, give me a break! Like someone said above, I believe its just the natural cycles of the earth. -
2 DOCS with 2 Different Approaches - Need to pick 1
loserbob replied to durangogurl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The money you have to pay for the extra tests is alot Im sure but any surgery is a major trauma on you body. I say you can never be to safe. There's a reason the one dr. wants more tests. Lets face it, surgery is much more serious for overweight people. After I had my EKG from my family dr. he told me everything was normal, so a few days later I got a call from my surgeons office telling me they required me to see a Cardiologist. Scared the sh$% out of me. I had an ultrasound and was happy and relieved afterwards to find outv everything was fine. I didnt yhave to pay, it was covered but I would do it again even if I had to pay. -

Just curious what Christmas songs everyone likes, if your not Christian then whatever holiday you Celebrate. For me its very hard for there are so many. 1- I think my favorite is "Mary did you know" by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd. (Gotta be honest, cant listen without tearing up). Try watching the video on you-tube where they show Jesus throughout his life, from a baby pounding spikes into the floor with his shadow being of the cross to the end where he's on the cross. It really brings out the "true meaning of Christmas" to me. 2- Christmas Canon by TSO (the version with the choir), not live version. 3- (this could be #1 on any given night depending on mood, "Oh Holy Night" , Celtic Women(love them) and also by Josh Groban. 4- Anything older by Bing, Como, Ives, etc. Hope everyones holiday was as special and great as mine. Also hope everyone has a happy and "SAFE" New Years.

I cant wait to see the jobs come rolling in now that the tax cuts will be extended! Oh wait, these are the same taxcuts we've had for the last 10 years. What the fu%^ is Obama thinking? He ran on "Taxing the rich". His belief was that the rich need to carry more of the burden so the middle class(if you can call it that)doesnt have to kill themselves. Big deal he got the unemployment benefits passed. He did not get enough and he gave way to much! He should have at least taxed people making over a million dollars, I would have still been pissed but it would have been better than him completely caving in to reps. The reps didnt give much up at all. Now in 2012 when the reps win they'll make the tax cuts permanent! Fox news is already saying Obama didnt fight hard enough. Im so pissed off and disgusted right now. Im very rapidly losing faith in Obama! If Im not mistaking I think the dems still have to vote and alot of dems are pissed at Obama right now. I dont think most dems agree with this at all, one dem already said Obama isnt holding to his principles, he's changing everything he ran on! Hillary please, please, please run for president in 2012. No gov option on healthcare extending Bush tax cuts to all If you decipher the code it reads "Major CAVING again"!

Yah, my wife is going through this at her job. She works for the 2nd biggest employer in pittsburgh behind Highmark. I wont mention their name. They make record profits every year, it seems like their cause is to put all other area hospitals out of business. Dont get me wrong, they do alot of good also. Her hours are supposed to be 9:00-5:30 and they told her they wont pay overtime(she works on studies, research) but sometimes she's required to be at work alot earlier like today, she was required to be there by 8:30 so she could meet with a participant of the study. It takes her about an 1 1/2 hours to get to and from work so she usually leaves the house around 6:00 and gets home around 7:00 so she barely sees the kids. But we need her to work for health benefits or I'd have to pay $1800.00 a month(that was my rate 2 years ago, its probably higher now). Things are so hectic at my house, we never know if we;re coming or going(I know most peoples lives are like ours, its the times)! This is a day in my house, Im not crying because I know most people are just like us, I see it on my job everyday! Wake up around 5-5:30AM, my wife gets ready for work and leaves at 6:00AM. I get my kids dressed, Breakfast and off to school. I get ready for work, out the door around 7:30-7:45. Home at 3:00 2 days to get my kids off the bus, 3 days a week I can work later because my kids go to the Y until 6:00pm. I cook dinner, help the kids do their homework, get them bathed. by this time its around 7:00PM. My wife comes home spends about an hour with the kids(and me), then they go to bed at 8:00PM. We(my wife and I) spend the next hour to hour and a half together then she goes to bed. I usually go a little later so I can have alone time. The next day the same starts all over again! There are 2 days aweek I go to karate and another 2 days I take my kids to karate in the evenings. Sound like anyone else? Isnt it great to be in the middle class! I dont remember my parents having such hectic lives when I was growing up but its what we have to do to get by today! I left out the fact that the CEO of the co. my wife works for made $4,000,000.00 last year before any bonuses! Not saying he doesnt deserve it but my wife basically works for benefits after she pays her portion, then pays to park all week, then pays gas, lunch.

Its already happening. I was watching Fox last night and Dana Perrino was on along with the rep Brittish bastard who thinks he's an expert on the economy. Well a few months ago, awhile before the electiond he was on the radio preaching gloom and doom saying it would take at least 8-10 years to recover. He and Dana both said last night that there was going to be an economic boom within the next two years and if the reps play their cards right they'd be able claim responsability! I said in the past that this economy wasnt going to turn around overnight and when we start seeing results people will start to believe its because the reps have more say in congress. Again people will forget to realize the reps got us where we are in the first place. Unfortunately I dont see how the reps could not gain out of this!! Why I even watch Fox at all is beyond me, its 6:00 in the morning, my day is just starting and Im already pi$$ed off!

My dr. told me the purpose of the band isnt to starve yourself by restricting food intake to very small amounts. She told me I actually need to eat more because I rarely eat Breakfast because of my schedule. I bought protien bars which I usually eat for breakfast, they have 20gr protien, 3 grams sugar and 180 calories(taste great also). I thought I gained 5-10# before my last fill but I actually lost 6# basically by eating more. Im at 294, the first time under 300# in about 8-10 yrs. I was surprized when she told me to eat more but she was right .

Torn between Lapband and Gastric Sleeve...Help
loserbob replied to lindagg63's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I chose the Lap-band because I didnt like the fact that my stomach etc. would be cut and rerouted. The risks during surgery are much greater because theres alot more involved.. Im very happy with my decision. I think people who have the band and switch to sleeve or whatever might have complications like slippage or erosion(the band rubs a hole through your upper stomach, % is pretty low). I would not have gastric if my band failed, I would either try again or have it removed. I have a friend who had gastric about 2 years ago and lost 137# in about 6-8 months but last I talked to her she gained 25 back. Im not sure but it seems like she found a way around the procedure if she gained weight, I would think she'll have to rely on will power to lose but I can get adjusted 10 years from now if I need it(again not sure about the will power thing just a guess, will power has always been a problem for me). The best thing to do is attend seminars at hospitals and question drs., Ask your dr their opinion, Attend support groups. Dont rush, do your research and in the end the decision will be yours to make. Also talk to someone who has gastric, my opinion is biased towards banding. Good luck, I hope this helped. -
7.5cc's and still no restriction!
loserbob replied to Melly26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really didnt come on here to argue with elfiepoo or whatever the name is but look up "how the lapband really works, fills and refills". I believe if you have questions you should get the proper, correct answers! Ive researched this extensively before during and after and this site proves my point, again not to prove he or Ill assume she is wrong but so you have the correct answers! -

7.5cc's and still no restriction!
loserbob replied to Melly26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually the main purpose of the band is to decrease volume. It wont tell you what choices to make and you can eat around the band by eating high calorie "slider" foods and drinking with meals which could "wash" the food from your Stoma (pouch) enabling you to eat more at least in the begining. When I was researching my dr. told me the band works great for volume eaters but not grazers(people who pick all day). Usually stuck episodes arent caused by overeating its caused by taking to big a bites and or not chewing enough. Sometimes that uncomfortable stuck feeling causes you to throw up or slime, neither of which I've experienced. After a few fills, everyone is different, you reach your "sweet spot" which is when you can eat a certain amount of food and feel satiated for a few hours between meals. If your like me and you still always think about food its tough to not feel hungry all the time. I am not at my sweet spot yet and could use another fill which will get me closer if not there. Also full shouldnt mean " stuffed" like it did before, it should mean feeling satiated or comfortable after a meal. Most of my problems are mind problems. Im not sure what satiated means because I still love to feel stuffed. I still think about food pretty much 24/7. I dont always make the right choices but its a lifelong learning process and you shouldnt base your results on what others do because everyone is different. Some just sooner than others. -
What is the proper punishment for Wikileaks, if any?

Now Im pissed even more. I just read a post of mine from 2 weeks ago that stated that majority of Americans side with Obama on the tax cuts. (article from newspaper) Im really wondering what he's thinking. I can honestly say if the election were today he would not get my vote. It really pains me to think I wasted my vote on him believing he would actually do what he said he would. Now Shepard Smith is saying the actual number of "Truely small businesses" is 1%! He said its a very small amount.
-
Actually if your concerned or not sure you might want to consult with a nutritionist. Since thats their area of expertise I would think they know better than a dr or surgeon. Good luck. The good thing is this is a long learning process and the mistakes you make now arent as serious as before being banded. You can adjust your band, see dr. see nutritionist. We all have that at our fingertips now.
-
Actually you might not be getting enough calories. My dr. wants me to be around 15-1800 a day. Everyones different and not everything works the same for everyone. The first few weeks I had around around 1000 calories a day, I lost 37# in the first 3 weeks because of the liquid low cal diet(without exercise) then it quit working. My dr said I needed to up my cals because now my body was in starvation mode. Im not losing much on the scale but I notice my clothes getting looser. Most importantly though, I think what Brad and others are saying is that you need to change it up because your body gets used to routine, you need to "trick" your body by fluctuating diet and calorie intake along with exercise routine, keep your body guessing so to speak and you'll see results. Now with that being said, I know what to do for the most part, its just hard for me to find the motivation most of the time!
