CNN Gallup poll Regulate wall street banks Favor-67% Oppose-20% Party preferred to handle financial regulation Back dems-42% Back reps- 34% Ya, it looks like the scaremongerers tactics are still working!!! AGAINST THEM!
-
You forgot strip/bondage clubs, if not, where will reps have meetings?
-
Then you say its ok for the gov to give some help but they give to much. Who decides how much is to much? I guess you!!!
-
You say the government gives to much, now your saying they take to much, which is it?

Written by the Associated Press I found the article, Thursday April 14 Tribune Review. Page A10 "Healthcare panel cancels hearing" Dem lawmakers canceled a hearing Wednsday, called to hear concerns by AT&T and other corporations about new employer costs in the healthcare overhaul, saying the companies now believe the overhaul could ease their costs if implemented properly. (paragraph 1) Waxmans statement quotes an AT&T vice president as saying"if other parts of the law aimed at lowering costs are successful, self insured companies like AT&T would likely benefit from such reduced costs". (Last paragraph) I didnt feel like typing the whole article, its 8 paragraphs. The subsidy thing you wrote about is what the rest of the article is about.

OK, the guy I was talking about wasnt a general, he was the 63 year old, Im sure Teabagger!
-
I looked for it before I posted it. I saved it for my wife to read after work and now I cant find it. I believe it was probably Thursday or Friday of last week. Im sure its in the USA today also. My wife asks me why I read it also, I love page 2 of section A(front page). I love the international section. I also like to hear the distorted views of the fanatical, war mongering, scaremongering, lunatics on the right!

The general(I think general)that Patty posted about. I was referring to a few people who do take handouts because they dont want to work, not the people who need them because they cant work. There are people who put so much time into "working the system", if they would just spend that time trying to better themselves, find the "American Dream." Everyone would benefit!

However I do have to admit, some of his points I do agree with(very few,1). Of course you all know by now that Im a plumber, I go to peoples houses and they cry about money when it comes time to pay, but yet they have plazma big screen TVs, Starbucks cups on the end tables(I went to starbucks for the first time in awhile yesterday and a medium drink cost me $4.oo and some cents, I couldnt believe it). And people bit5h at me for charging them $145.00 to snake their sewer and clean up sh^t! Anyway, that does bother me. I work in projects once in awhile, these people live for free or almost for free and drive vehicles that are alot nicer than mine, and alot are new. Same with people who "choose" to live in trailers,(this is a tough one because maybe people just like living in a trailer), It cracks me up when I see someone pulling out of the trailer park in a $50,000.00 truck or suv(any vehicle that costs at least twice that of their trailer. I guess everybodies priorities are different. There is some truth to what these people say(Patty, reps). What upsets me is when they say all libs(Im not lib)ask for handouts. The funny thin is most poor people I know are republicans! When I pull into a trailer park and see a Bush Chenney poster in the yard I feel like saying, "thats why you still live in a trailer". Or when someone has an old, faded bumper sticker on their rusted out old car(and we "aint" even talkin Cadillac), Id like to telkl them, Bush-Chenney are the reason youre still driving that car! Im not picking on poor people(just reps), I just cant believe these people cant see they(Bush)didnt make it any easier!

The funny thing is, Patty cries about how the rich are paying higher taxes, then babbles about how we need to go back to what this country was founded on. Well taxes started since day 1, thats how this country has always paid for things. You(reps) only want taxes you agree with,(ones that dont affect you)just like everything else. You cry and whine about all the taxes the "rich" have to pay(Nobodies taxes have been raised as of yet), well its about time, the middleclass has carried this country since day 1. You reps say libs want handouts but you want everything this great country has to offer without having to pay for it ie. taxes! So, who really expects handouts?

Cleosmom, Did you read the article in the Trib the other day about John Deere, AT&T, Caterpillar canceling meeting about healthcare cost concerns? They all cried about how they where going to lose millions of dollars because of healthcare. Obama said he didnt know where they were getting these numbers from so he set up a meeting to discuss the numbers, but they canceled the meeting because they suddenly realized they would actually save money "because of the healthcare reform"!!!(After running theyre mouths, getting everyone to believe they where right, theyre right alright, right-wing nut jobs. Patty, before you ask what they would gain from making this story up, big corporation, you tell me why it would benefit them to make Obama look bad! One more thing, I told my wife today about how the Teabaggers claim they dont support either party, I havent seen one democrat speak at a "gathering of the nuts"!! I believe it was you who said they where disgruntled reps, I agree 100%.

Just another bit of info. While doing my 6 month preop, my surgeon told the group that alot of obese people cant lose weight, or can lose but not keep it off because your body is so used to you at this weight that it basically fights against weightloss, basically sabotageing you. It has something to do with the chemical makeup of the body.

Heres what to remember, we've all been where your at. Its surgery and the thought of surgery is very scary. You say you have sleep apnea(and it sounds like you have a serious case of sleep apnea like I do), this isnt something to be overlooked. I thought of reasons to back out of surgery(I had the same feelings you do)but I posted on here about my second thoughts because I thought I was fairly healthy, only having high blood pressure and serious sleep apnea which where both controlled. Btrieger gave me a wakeup call by telling me "If youre obese, high BP, and sleep apnea, your not fairly healthy(not sure if Im spelling fairly correctly, nothing is looking right to me today). I thought about what he said and it made sense. The thing you have on your side is age, Im 38. I had my surgery on March 10th and as of this past Friday Ive lost 43# and am off my bp meds and aspirin(the only meds I was on). I feel so much healthier. I used to live(if you can call it that)my life wondering when I was going to have a heart attack, or become diabetic etc. I can tell you, I wish I had this opportunity when I was 25, I always thought in my mind,"Im going to join a gym and exercise and lose weight". I always made excuses as to why "I will start tomorrow". And when I did start, It lasted maybe a week or 2. Your 25 and you weigh 400#, think about why, Im sure youve tried "diets"and evidently they havent worked for you(just like the rest of us). This lapband thing has been working very well for me, I finally feel healthy for the first time since Ive been married(30 years, 20, I cant remember, just kidding, 10 years). Take my advice for what its worth, do it now so your not going through the same thing in 5 or ten years. The surgery was a breeze, it was actually the easy part, there really hasnt been any real difficulty so far(keep in mind Im very new at this). Im not trying to sway you either way, you have to be ready for whatever decision you make. All Im saying is I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!
-
Dont be scared(easier said than done!). I had mine on March 10th. I was so scared, I never had surgery before. Actually, what kept me ok was I figured I could just back out. Well I didnt back out and am so greatful that I didnt because I lost 40# so far and am off my bp meds(the only meds I was on)and I already feel healthier than I have in about 8-10 years. The actual surgery was a breeze. I had my IV put in and all I remember is wakeing up in the recovery room. The first 2 1/2 days for me where a little tough, gas discomfort but no actual pain at all. I questioned why I did this on the 2nd day but day 3 was totally different, I felt at least 80% better. I think the first couple days your body is getting rid of all the meds they put you on(poisoning your body), I think thats why me and alot of others experienced the miniature depression. The diet is tough the first 2 weeks but the time seemed to go by so quickly. Its easy to say now but dont worry, youll do fine. I said this in another post but Ive needed a root canal for about 2 years now and have been putting it off because I hate the dentist, Well Id rather go through the surgery again, rather than the root canal! For me, it really was a breeze. Good luck and let us know how it goes. This is a great site and you will find alot of help and support here. I hope this helps!

Not looking for negativity but positive encouragement....
loserbob replied to kels764's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im only 1 month out and have lost 40#. Im eating healthier than before but I still eat chocolate, Ive had ice cream, etc. I know it will get harder to lose weight but I havent really craved anything. If I want something like ice cream Ill eat a few bites to satisfy myself. Im very mental (not sure how else to explain), if I didnt do this I would go crazy and binge alot and sabatoge the band. Im not saying I do it every day and when I start getting fills I might have to change my habits but it seems to be working right now. Like someone else said, dont beat yourself up over it,if you believe it was wrong, get back on board. This is for life, you wont be perfect for the rest of your life. I didnt do this to deprive myself, I did it so I would eat less(Im a volume eater). I try to eat healthier choices most of the time but still enjoy pizza, ice cream once in awhile, in smaller amounts. -
Through training with different plumbing companies I've learned that a first impression is usually made within the first 7 seconds of meeting someone! So thats why I asked this question. So by the time a customer answers the door (and sees(saw) a 343# plumber, what impression did they have? Lets face it, its hard to keep your shirt tucked in and looking neat when your heavy! The shirts are never long enough(hence"plumbers crack" haha). Ive never had problems with customers not likeing me(that Im aware of)other than the usual ones who are mad about prices. People are usually happy with me and my work. I just figure there have to be a few or even alot who dont call back because of my appearence! I have to make it clear, my wife wasnt saying its ok to discriminate because of being overweight. She meant, people seem to think its ok to discriminate because it seems to be accepted unlike race, religion etc. She wanted me to explain it better.

Who is your Dr? Mine is Dr. Corcoulas, couldnt be happier with the dr., hospital, and results. I had mine March 10th and lost 40# as of Thursday April 8th.

Didn he fight at the Alamo?
-
Ill go back to what Howard Stern said, He is the way he is(offensive) because people who hate you are more apt to listen to you!
-
Patty Green listens to Beck!!! Nuf said!(She told me she listens ti him but not Rush, Hannity)
-
Cleos mom, I was listening to Jim quinn today(I dont know why) and he did his usual "everything Obama is wrong", and I didnt hear him say anything about Jane Orie useing her office for campaigning purposes, eventhough shes plastered all over every local front page! Also, why isnt Fox news saying anything about the congressmen(republicans of course, theyre the moral party) useing RNP money to go to strip/bondage clubs? Why arent they talking about the top rep who resigned over this because he's so outraged at the rep party?
-
Yah, theyre experts because they discuss it at stripclubs with RNP money!

Breakfast I can eat Cream of Wheat no problem, if I try eggs or something more solid I can usually eat about 4-5 bites comfortably. lunch, Im not sure how much I can eat, I usually have something small and its hit or miss. dinner, I can eat what seems like a good bit more, I dont keep a food journal so Im not sure of amount. I know its not nearly what I ate before but it seems like it might be too much. I try to have something small for snack before bed if Im hungry but last night I ate a whole 1# container of strawberries with no problem. I wanted to stop (not because I was full)but It was hard to leave the last 5-6 in the container, and I convinced myself It was ok because they where strawberries, and I understand too m8uch of anything isnt good! I havent had a fill yet as Im only almost 1 month out(March 10th). I do see my surgeon on the 18th for a possible fill. Thats a whole nother story there, I shouldnt have watched a fill on you-tube, the needle was huge and they jammed it in so far and quick!!!
-
Yah, I tried to convince myself that I was going to be one of the very few who dont need a fill to lose weight! I guess if Im asking these questions and telling you I ate a whole carton of strawberries I answered my own question. But I had my appointment with my family dr. today and I lost 3 more pounds so that puts me at 40# in almost a month out. My dr was so happy for me, Ive been going to him for over 10 years. That is so motivating! Thanks for the responses.

Did I make the right decision?
loserbob replied to sweeteebls's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only questioned my first 3 days, gas pains and dont forget youve had alot of medications(poison) in your body. I think thats what makes you feel depressed. On the 2nd night I questioned Why I did this, On the 3rd day I felt so much better physically. Once you get over the first week or 2 and can eat a little more normally youll get your energy back and feel alot better. After feeling like that, looking back now I wouldnt hesitate to do it again. But recovery time is different for everyone and you too will be fine! Good luck and dont worry.
