Most people dont have fluid in their band right after surgery. Drs. are more concerned with your body healing. Usually shortly after surgery you cant eat much because of swelling, then once the swelling goes down you can eat more. Even with a few fills you might not feel any different, I have 7.1cc in an 11 cc band(had about 5 fills) and still have a fairly good appetite! Everyones different, the best advice is to follow your drs. orders and you should do great. Im sure it took a long time to get to weight your at so dont be disappointed if it takes a while to get to were you want to be. You'll probably experience ups and downs throughout your journey but remember its a learning process and a lifestyle change. Dont worry, you'll figure it out as you go. You'll also find alot of advice and support on here when needed.

I cant figure it out. General Motors has doubled its profits this year, most other big corp are making record profits, oil companies making record profits as usual, Marcellus Shale (nat gas drilling in eastern U.S.) drilling is in every farm , forest and state park in the area. I went to a grocery store over the weekend, every checkout line was open and 8-10 people deep, same with Lowes. All usual eateries (Olive Garden, TGI, Applebees, Texas Roadhouse, etc) had a 1-1 1/2 hour wait but yet the economy is down and there are concerns of a double-dip recession. My other question is, the republicans say we cant tax big corp because they provide the jobs for the country and therefore wont hire(theyre not hiring as it is. The big corps are sitting on 2 trillion dollars). In the next breath they say small businesses are the job creators,(earnings under $250,000.00 a year), which is it? Why do politicians make the debt crisis so complicated? Each side has their solutions and they all seem to benefit that side politically for sure and monitarily Im sure. Why dont they pull out of both wars and deal with OPEC to lower oil prices, that would solve at least 90% of the problem! All this bs about bad loans, people taking on more credit than they could afford, true to an extent but when oil, gas, energy and inflation go up basically overnight it made it hard on everyone, nobody expected it to happen, or at least not as quickly as it did. With our wealth and supposed power in the world we should be able to "persuade" OPEC into lowering oil prices, without us there would be no OPEC. I wish Donald Trump wasnt such an idiot, he said during his first hour in office he would deal with OPEC and China, so far I havent heard any legitimate candidate even mention either. Of course maybe deal meant paying him off also! However i think someone like him might put a little fear into them. Even though Im somewhat happy with Obama and I do believe he is sincere(my opinion), I dont believe he is respected enough(maybe feared is a better word) to persuade anyone. I dont see it even being possible for years because as it looks right now we're going to have either Obama again or the retread who couldnt win 3 years ago Romney! While the middle class worries about paying utility bills and putting food on the table and figuring out ways to even see and spend time with their families they'll keep struggling to carry the country while the rich get richer and the poor stay poor because theres no incentive to change(Im not talking about people who dont abuse the system and I dont call them "handouts") and the politicians who are so out of touch with reality cry and argue like kids who dont get their way! Prime example, who cares if the FAA employees are out of work and dont get paid, I deserve a vacation because I avoided a default by agreeing on a great debt deal! See you after my vaacation so we can work on a new debt deal we might go into default in 6 months! WHAT A BUNCH OF BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this post is old but if you grow and raise all your food the gov would find a way to tax you. Look a hybrid cars, I believe Wash. state is considering a tax on hybrids because less gas means less tax money fom gas, so they' figure taxing hybrids will make up the difference. Why even buy a hybrid?

I have the Realize Band also. I was banded March 10, 2010, Ive lost approximately 60-65# and I havent really done anything out of the ordinary (diet, exercise). Im very yhappy with everything from the surgery to my results so far. I could have lost alo more if i had exercised, I still eat basically what I did before just not as much. Im not proud of that! If you find negative posts I suspect its because people who have problems or are newer to the band tend to post. People who have been banded and are doing well tend to post less because they're understanding the process better and are doing well. Its just natural, although this is a fairly positive site. Most problems seem to occur when people dont follow drs. guidelines. You'll be fine dont worry, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Im just wondering, Will being thin(someday, hopefully sooner than later)help me and others in the workfield? Other than the physical parts(Im a plumber, moving around in tight spaces). Im talking about how others view us. I told my wife"I wonder what customers think when they open the door and see a 340# plumber standing there"? Im wondering if this will help me become more successful? I think heavy people are viewed as being different, lazy, the funny thing is Ive never had an employer accuse me of being lazy. I read an article on the Comcast web page under the finance heading, It said the U.S. economy is growing much faster than the top 7 industrialized nations but jobless rates are the highest here! Why is that? Because the big corp figured out they can do more with much less, they're making record profits with less workers because they now expect the working class to work harder and for longer hours! What I cant figure out is why more companies arent starting up and hiring to make up for the lack of hiring we're seeing now, I mean big corporations dont pay taxes(even though they make record profits) so where's all the hiring that this was going to create? Lets get rid of unions, yah, thats the answer!!! The republicans talk about how this country is becoming communist under Obama but think about it, the most communist thing about this country is the fact that we have to go to work and dont have a say in our safety standards, pay, and now any bargaining rights we had! The reps have total control, what have they done for you? They got rid (are trying) of any rights or voice you had. Im so tired of politics by both parties while I pay $4.00 for a gallon of gas and watch my weekly grocery bill go from about $100.00 a week to about $160-180.00 a week yet Im making the same money I have been! I think the world of the YMCA. My youngest son who is 6 went to pre-school at a daycare at our church(not affiliated). We moved him to the Y and he finished pre-school and also went for pre-k. It was a great move, more of a school atmospere and most of all we saw major improvements. He is now in kindergarten and doing very well, I believe the Y has greatly helped him prepare for the next step and not to mention he loves going back to see his teachers. I saw alot of growth take place while he attended the Y, he became more mature and confident while attending the Y because they emphasize positive reenforcement. I think the very early years of a childs life are very critical in deciding what kind of person that child grows up to be and in my sons case Im very happy we chose the Y. I have 6 and 7 year old boys and we always eat dinner together because I believe like you do its very important to have that time, especially in this busy world we live in. I also try to include them while cooking dinner and they get excited when they get to eat something they've made and besides, its usually the best I've ever had. My 6 year old makes the best crescent rolls from a can, I made them one day because playing outside was more important than making them, so I asked what he does to the crescent rolls to make them so good and he told me he's gentle with them. You make alot of good points which I agree with. For some reason I always thought the Y was some cheap place for poor people and as it turns out the Y is very modern whether it be teaching techniques or equipment in their gym. I couldnt be happier with the Y and everything they stand for. Whether rich or poor or somewhere in between(not much in between anymore) its a great place.

Just more republican hypocrisy. Pennsylvania rep gov Tom Corbett refuses to tax Marcellus Shale drilling in Pennsylvania even though 2/3 of the state support a tax. We have a $4 billion budget gap, we're cutting education funding and many other programs. According to the articcle, every other major NG producing state has a tax and some of the biggest drillers do not oppose a tax as long as its reasonable. Ray Walker, vice pres of Range Resources and chairman of the Marcellus Shale Coalition said "we are willing to discuss a severance tax but the new governor isnt." Dont worry though, he wants to impose an impact fee(rep word for tax!). He will let his NEWLY FORMED Marcellus Shale Advisory Commismision calculate those costs. Gee, I thought only the dems liked big gov beauracracies, he'll waste more money paying employees of his new beauracracy, well maybe he'll have to TAX the gas drillers then. No, to hell with taxing these big companies we'll just keep taxing our Pennsylvania residents! 99, Im sure you'll have a great answer for this!

Even if what she says is true, all diets usually work until you stop "dieting". I chose the band for a "lifestyle" change like everyone else and couldnt be happier with my decision. I read in the paper yesterday that Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett is cutting the healthcare plan for the poor(I cant remember what its called), he's also cutting education funds. We are supposedly behind other countries when it comes to education, math, science I believe. Also, one of the people who hang out at the 7-11 I always talk about(republican), his 28 year old son had a heart transplant recently and is doing well but Im wondering how he will earn a living, Im sure he wont be working for a long time and seeing how he's republican Im sure he wont accept any handouts or government assistance! Also, one of the other guys who hang out there told me he needed some plumbing work(when he found out that Im a plumber) and asked me if I would cut him a break! I told him "sure, Im a dem and handouts are what we do. The last time I saw him he was coming out while I was going in, we met at the doors and he acted like he didnt see me. (he's the guy who came in one night going off about Obama, calling him the N-word(he's in his 60s)and I asked him which taxes Obama raised on him and I asked him ton tell me one thing Bush did that helped him, his answer was "he protected us after 9-11!", I told him if Bush protected us there would be no 9-11! Im so tired of hearing how the world hates us but they look to us to solve their problems! These governments are so corrupt, these people(radical muslims) are usually well educated middle to upper-class(Dr. Zawahiri, Alquaeda 2nd in command)people who have college degrees and want better lives for their families but because of gov corruption they have no where to turn, no jobs. All they can really do is dream the dream not live it! These people are finally realizing they're being held back by rich governments who are for themselves only. They're being held back by corrupt governments who limit everything they do from jobs to the internet. So whats the one thing they can do to support their families, make money by blowing themselves and others up. This might be the answer, support the change these people want, help them hopefully install a more dem form of gov who might actually give them a chance to prosper so they dont have to look for alternative means. It like everything in this world comes down to the evil "love of money". We can keep killing them militarily and they'll keep coming in waves to "support the cause" which isnt to kill as many American and zionist jews as possdible, its to support their families! In Arab/Muslim culture its the #1 priority! The Americans and Zionist Jews are just a good answer for the leaders of corrupt Muslim governments. Come on, Egypt and Israel have had a pretty good, cooperative relationship for many years., Its the more radical countries(Iran, Syria) who hate Israel and America, how fitting, the two biggest sponsors of state terrorism and two of the most corrupt governments on earth! Its simple, everyone wants the same things out of life, health, wealth and happiness! I change my mind, we need to help now more than any time in the past, what we do now could shape the future for the better or we can let these countries fall to the hands of radicalized lunatics!
