    Searching for my Surgeon!

I am considered Morbidly Obese occurring to the various online seminars I have completed for all the different bariatric surgical centers. Specifically my insurance lists weight loss surgery as an exclusion. So my employer chose to buy a policy that will NOT cover it. I do not believe I am too large for Sleeve Gastrectomy. I am 100% mobile, work full time, can be on my feet for hours as needed and am nothing like those on My 600 Pound Life (which is kind of how you must be imagining me). I’ve been told more than once that if it’s an exclusion, it will NOT be covered. So I will be paying cash as many people do I’m learning.

    PacificSource?

Thanks. That probably won’t happen, which is a bummer. I’ve only been there 4 months and still on “probation”. As it is I have to be there 2 more months before I can sign up for FMLA to protect my time off for the surgery and follow up appointments.

    PacificSource?

The first place I wanted to go through has you find out if WLS will be covered. They told me it was an exclusion. When I asked the surgeons office if they would try to get it approved they said it wouldn’t happen and they won’t even try. I keep reading about people whose surgeons offices have all appealed again and again and their insurance finally says yes if they go through 6 months of stuff. I’m trying to find out if PacificSource is a hard NO or has anyone had success in getting it covered? Thanks!

    Undies question....

This is good info! I was wondering this myself. I’m doing self pay outpatient and was curious how it was possible. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Thanks! I’m terrified but excited! Yes it’s frustrating. I could wear 3x tops but bottoms need the 4x. Catherine’s is great but $$$. Anyways. That’s me :-)
  6. I’m 402 pounds and about to do pre-op consults in the next couple months (have to stretch it out until I qualify for FMLA for surgery and follow ups) and I just found this app. What is burning me is I can’t log a weight of higher than 362 as a “starting weight” 😠 Some of the things I’m struggling with are inserting tampons, fitting in seats and booths, feeling gross during sex, not traveling due to my size, not being able to find clothes in local stores (our Walmart quit selling 4x and I can’t always afford Lane Bryant). So yeah. That’s me.
