    I "snuck" having WLS

Your husband is just worried you are going to turn into a hot babe and leave him! Do it for yourself and whatever happens in the future you can deal with later. He should be happy you are wanting to feel better.

    proteins

I have used the liquid caramel premier protein shake as a coffee creamer. I think it tastes good and doesnt seem to go weird in hot beverages.

    Weight gain

Over time if you increase your food intake you can stretch your stomach. Mine definitely has stretched some. I have thought about trying the 5 day diet that is supposed to reset your stomach down to its original post surgery size or somewhere close. Has anyone tried it? I'm hoping it will help with my cravings too. I have a lot of stress and work night shift so I'm constantly sleep deprived. I dont want to regain the 75 lbs I've lost.
  5. You can do it! It's not easy but you will get through it. I think a lot of what you go through at first has nothing to do with your stomach. Your brain tells you that you need to eat because we have trained it for so many years to do that. Try to find something to take up your time so you arent thinking about food. I know it's hard during recovery but you can do this! It will be so worth it.
  6. Not sure if it will ever go away. It is embarrassing if you are eating with other people. My family just laughs now because they know I cant help it.
  7. Dont give up! It does get better. The first 6 weeks were hard, even after I could eat food I struggled. It takes time for your brain to distance itself from your stomach. I would eat and be full but my head was telling me I was still hungry. I got through it but it took time. I had to stop and really enjoy the taste of the food. Savor the flavors. I know you arent there yet but you will be and it will be worth it.
  8. In reply to the salty taste, I think it's part due to a more bland diet and maybe due to some dehydration. I have experienced to the same thing. It's not as bad now as I am 1 year out but it was definitely there. As for the air in the esophagus, I still get gurgling while I eat. I dont know if it's because my stomach is more of a tube than a pouch. I cant control it but it doesn't stop me from eating. Sometimes it happens after I eat too. It's not like a burp, it's just lose air that comes up.

    I'm under 300!

    Congrats! That is so awesome!
  11. Thank you for your support. I will have to have a talk with him. I dont want to fall back into my old habits.
  12. My husband was sleeved last year in September and is down about 80 lbs. I was sleeved the end of January and am down 52. He eats pretty much whatever he wants but at a small portion. He is not eating very healthy and is bringing junk home. I am trying to eat healthy but it is hard when junk food is in the house. That is why we are where we are at is because we ate junk. I am frustrated because I want this to be a great experience and be a healthier family. I believe it is affecting my weight loss and want to continue to lose.
  13. I was sleeved on Jan 31st of this year and have had some weeks when I had stalled but then it seems my body recalibrates and starts losing again. It can be frustrating but I just have to tell myself it will pass.
