    Partner issues after wls

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to comment! I appreciate it. ❤️ I’m taking your advice to work and focus on myself, and maybe we’ll be able grow together on this journey.
  3. I can feel myself changing emotionally each week, and drifting from my partner of three years. I’m 22 and was a normal weight when I met him, but piled on the pounds due to emotional issues. He has always been there for me, when I was in a mental hospital after a suicide attempt, my eating disorder and through my whole journey to become mentally healthy. Which was a criteria I set for myself before I even considered wls. And now my physical journey has started and I often find that I associate all the negative feelings from when I was unwell with him. He is the most caring person in the world and he has loved me the way I am at all stages of our relationship. I am very aware that its me thats changing and I want our relationship to work. My surgeon told me about hormonal changes and mood swings the first year, but I find it hard to not fight when Im feeling down. I take my feelings out on him - something that Ive never done before and it sucks. I feel like a bitter hag and I feel like Im actively looking for him to make a mistake to then yell/fight about. How are you making it work with your partner throughout this huge physical and mental change?

    Pre op patient

Yoghurts with high protein, shakes, chickpeas and most dairy products is where i get most of my protein. Smoothies with dairy products, fruit, juice and flavourless protein powder is both hydrating and a good source of protein. I drink flavoured water, on the days I dont I often fall short on my daily target. 😊

    Pre op patient

I made sure my emotional issues with food were taken care of, for me this is the most important. I dont crave food after the surgery, and Im never hungry. With the blessing of my dietician I only focus on water and protein (10weeks post op) and the focus ends there. I have been obsessive about food since I can remember, so for me it was important to start seeing at fuel instead of that emotional crutch. Good luck on your journey! 😊
  6. Im 10 weeks post op and have lost 16,5kg. My clothes fit better and my pants are getting loose on my thighs and butt but are still tight on my belly! The waistband feel as tight as it did pre op. Ive had a hourglass shape, and a small waist all my life, but now Im just round from the front and shaped like a D from the side. How long did it take before the swelling went down for you? 🤔
  7. Ive been using sugarbear. It tastes nice, but is overpriced. I randomly saw this post on instagram though
