    Had surgery today

Congratulations and hope you have a speedy recovery.
  2. Hello all, I'm one week post op. Had my first post op appointment and they're so happy with my progress. Lost 12 lbs since surgery and 25 overall. Got to move onto pureed foods today (vegetable and dairy, from their list). This is in addition to my protein and water requirements. I'm walking a lot and seem to have a lot of energy. Down side... My main incision and new tummy still hurt, and still sleeping in my recliner BUT a friend recommended a wedge pillow, so we'll see see tonight. Fingers crossed I also tried Ricotta Bake, so delicious, but couldn't finish. Good luck to those with upcoming surgeries!
  3. Omg, so happy for you!!! Congratulations!!

    Hospital bag

I bought a summer dress, better to walk the halls in. I also brought my favorite water flavoring, glad I did, their choices were too sweet. I drifted off a lot so didn't read, but did use my cell phone and lip balm. Good luck to all having upcoming surgeries.
  5. Congratulations!!! So happy for you!
  6. I was really nauseous until they realized the morphine wasn't a good fit for me. They gave me oxycodone and Tylenol, because I was getting extreme headaches. After making those adjustments, it was much easier to handle the pain of gas, surgery itself and incisions. Walking really helps with the gas, so walk as much as you can. Not sure what kind of pain meds you're on, but if it's not working if call your doctor, could be something else. I hope you find relief soon.
  7. So happy for you!!! Congratulations

    July surgery

Glad everything went well with your surgery. I found the gas pain was bothersome. Learned morphine isn't my frliend, made me really sick, so got oxycodoe. I'm home now. Just dealing with gas pains and getting up or sitting down, and finding a comfortable place/positron to sleep. The recliner is my friend, but really want my bed.

    July Sleeve

Hello @Faith 73, I also had my surgery on the 3rd. I keep hearing about these waist band and I so want one. I think it would help my new tummy heal and not hurt like a ..... Every time I get up or try to sleep. I'm getting my liquids/protein down ok and I've been walking every chance I get so I'm pretty happy about that. Just happy to finally be in the losers bench.
  10. I'm only 3 days post op. Today's the first day I'm keeping track of liquids and Proteins to try and meet my goals. So far it's been ok. I'm not hungry, so I'm just forcing the intake, 2 ounces at a time. Luckily, I haven't had any problems swallowing pills, but I space out when I take them. Getting up and down is a pain, literally. Hoping the more I do it the better it'll feel ( build up those muscle). I have notice back and shoulder pain, which is probably due to whatever position they put you in during surgery. But overall, I think I'm doing well. Oh, and scents haven't hit me yet, they were really bad during pre op, so we'll see.
  11. Congratulations!!! Just around the corner. Will keep you in my prayers and can't wait to see you on the flip side. You've got this!!
  12. Congratulations, it'll be here sooner than you think. Good luck!!
  13. The headaches were the worst for me. They told me it was hunger headache. Equivalent to caffeine headache. Basically nothing helped it. Took a couple days to get better.
  14. Finally home sweet home. Just weighed myself and yay gas weight (not), but not worried about it. Add into that the water weight from the IV. Gained 6 lbs, but sure it'll go down once I get rid of all this gas and water weight. Overall happy with everything.
  15. I'm officially a member of this board. Surgery this morning. Tummy pretty sore, of course. I get sick when they give me morphine. Other than that a good end to the day. I did walk around the hospital floor 5 times. Suppose to help with nasty gas. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be feeling better. Thanks for the encouragement on this board.
  16. Today's the day. Sitting in the waiting room waiting to be call. I'm actually calm, my husband on the other hand is very nervous. Hoping everything goes well. See ya in the flip side.

    July Sleeve

Good luck and speedy recovery to all those having a Rebirthday tomorrow! Mine is Tuesday July 3rd. Been on a 14 day pre op diet and Clear Liquids tomorrow. I trust my surgeon just worried about the pain afterwards, but been assured by the doctor they'll take care of me, still anxious about that.
  18. Are you home yet ALFxRNY? Hope everything is going well with your recovery.
  19. I'm with you. I'm getting sleeved on the third too. Unfortunately, I'm on day 14 off my pre op diet. Tonite is clear liquid diet. Been keeping myself busy so I don't get the nervous/anxious bug. Good luck to you and hope you have a speedy recovery.
  20. Happy Rebirthday!! Finally on the other side. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
  21. I did, but when I went in for my breath test, I learned I was allergic to the solution they administrate (citrus acid) so my doc said 95% of the people that follow the two week antibiotics meds are cured. They are going ahead with surgery.
  22. It's breaks my heart hearing this. So sorry.
  23. You go rock this!!! Wishing you a speedy recovering. Love your rebirthing count down. Talk to you on the post op side :)
  24. Day 10 of the pre op diet. This forum is so awesome and informative. I went in today and talked with my surgeon. Asked him all kinds of questions about pain management, gas, discharge, etc.... He was very good at explaining everything, which totally eased my mind. He was also impressed with my list of questions, which I must thank each of you with giving me insights to your experiences. I was feeling very anxious about my upcoming surgery (July 3rd), but after my visit I feel so much better.
