Bubula you aren’t alone at all. I’m having surgery the 23rd and terrified of it. Trying to relax and remind myself that everything will be okay

I only have to do a 24 hr liquid diet. Does anyone else have such a short diet? I’ve heard so many people saying they have to do 2 wks..

Has anyone used vital proteins collagen (of any kind) post wls? If so, is it worth the money and does it actually work?

Collagen/Vital Proteins

I bought some last night so if no one else responds to this thread I’ll let you know in about a month! My bypass is on July 23 and I’ve heard collagen helps with your hair/skin/nails as well as digestion and muscle repair so I’m hoping it’s worth it! -
Mine is July 23rd!

@frustr8 You’re right, it’s never too early or too late to start over. I’m glad to share this journey with you also! I wish you the best of health and a quick recovery next month!

Well hey!!! It’s really nice to meet someone my age having the surgery! Maybe our surgeries will be around the same date! I hope everything goes well for you!

I agree it’s easier on younger people. I’ve been thinking about it since I was 18, maybe even before. I finished all of my requirements over a year ago and was supposed to have the surgery last year but I chickened out. I’m glad I’m finally going through with it this summer. I’m nervous to go back to college in August though since I’m not having surgery until July and my college is 12 hours away from home.

I’m 21! 😁

I’m doing the bypass because I want to lose the maximum amount of weight. I think the sleeve is a slightly “safer” surgery, from what I’ve heard, but there’s also the possibility that you could develop GERD afterwards

Yes I agree with Eliza. I’m sure if you made it through having a CHILD this will be a walk in the park compared to that pain. I too worry about anesthesia. I think it’s a pretty common fear.

I completely agree. My mom had the surgery and was successful. I don’t think I’m as nervous about the after part as I am about the surgery itself. I’ve never had surgery-other than tonsils when I was very little-and I’m worried about complications during. Try to stay positive and keep your mind of it! Everything is going to be okay. Our whole lives are about to change for the better!

I’m nervous too. What are you nervous about?

Not Louisiana, but I go to college in Alabama, so I’m kinda close!

Me!!! I go in to schedule my surgery on July 5th so I’m hoping I’ll have surgery in July!
