So as it said I’m a bit over 4 months. Highest weight was 316. I’m now sitting at 228 as of this morning. I was wearing a size 28/30. Now I’m wearing a size 20 comfortably. Now where I need thoughts and opinions here is. I’m getting hungry more frequently now. I tend to wake up in the morning very hungry. I hate having that feeling. what does everyone else do? Do you wake up nearly starving? Another issue I’m seeing is I’m going nearly in a three week cycle. Where one week I loose almost 7-10 pounds then I sit at that weight for almost a full 3 weeks. Its driving me nuts. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong here. Im eating around 800-1200 calories a day. I don’t do protein drinks very often I tend to get protein from meats. Im eating nuts as a snack. I have started eating tortilla chips but I’m stopping that I think that killed me for a week allowing that carb back in. As a rule I don’t eat pasta, bread, and rice. I have let in too many carbs and sugar I think. I don’t eat sweets but I have been eating apple and peanut butter. I also have a 12 oz coffee with French vanilla creamer every morning. I also realized I forget a lot more than I should no drinking before or after rule Any thoughts, suggestions and opinions are very welcome.

Post surgery 4 months mini stalls
Oceanlove replied to Oceanlove's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Ty so much I’m loving the feedback. I never thought about the protein drink as creamer. I’m going to give that a try. As for my name lol yes I love the ocean I worked for a cruise line and loved being out on the ocean. -
You will get there!!! Just think not so long ago you were pre op. You made it here😀

By 3 months I was eating all veggies and fruits. I craved salad and veggies.

I had surgery 6/20/18. My bs lvl sits generally around 90-100 all the time. If I eat ofc depends on carbs or sugar I still have the spike up to upper 100”s. Then after 1-2 hrs generally speaking a hour or so, I drop back to 90-100 range. This is a normal effect even for non diabetics.

I started out measuring everything to make sure I was not eating crazy amounts. The first month I could eat about 4tablespoons at a time before I thought I would explode. It’s now 3 months post surgery I started at 316 and I’m at 244 currently. However I kinda freaked out this evening because I had a lean cuisine meal steak bits in a sauce with broccoli then a applesauce cup. All in one meal that was 7.5 oz plus 4 oz. this is not my normal by any means I’m surprised I could eat all that. It just shows me that I need to always be on guard with the what and how much I’m eating. As a general rule since my surgery I do not eat breads, flour, rice, pasta, potatoes and avoid surgery items. No carbonated drinks. Its a struggle believe me but we we can do it.

I had my RNY June 20 th. I have lost 62 pounds. But this last two days I have had this tear, burning pain really low on left side. It shoots from about 3-4 inches long. But it starts if I sneeze, move wrong or twist. It’s not constant but it lets me know it’s still there. I called surgery office they seem to think it’s normal but idk. If I kinda push in on the area it’s sore. I did not lift or do anything to cause pulled muscle. I’m kinda worried it might be hernia or lord knows what. It’s almost even maybe a tad lower than belly button and about 6 inches to the left. Any help or ideas appreciated.

Bowels after surgery
Oceanlove replied to nlmguerrero's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have the diarrhea issue nor did I have blood in my poo. You really need to see your Dr. my Dr. definitely did not mention anything about blood coming out of anywhere being normal. -
Gastric Sleeve & PCOS
Oceanlove replied to McKenna Colster's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I’m post op gastric bypass 7 weeks. Lost 55 pounds up to this point. I have PCOS, insulin resistance as well. I’m hoping that I will get my period and start ovulating. Even though it’s too soon to get pregnant it’s a step in the right direction. I hope the best for all who have PCOS. -
Awesome I have not seen anyone other than one other who had surgery on my day. Yay! My nutritionist says my program is ultra conservative compared to most. So I asked about absolutely no no’s. So I have been exploring things on my own little by little. Like I added canned veggies and thin sliced deli meat. I have noticed some strange things though. Like I could do scrambled eggs just fine on the third week but now I cannot tolerate them. And I also noticed my inability to tolerate sweet as gotten stronger. First week I could at least tolerate Powerade but now I cannot stand it that it’s too sweet. Just a lot of odd things like that.

Yippee!!! I’m so excited for you. I can’t wait to see you on the post side of things. Mine was a long time coming. 9 years getting here. So I know how you feel. I’m praying for you all the way.

When is your surgery I thought it was this month?
-
Surgery was 6/20 so 7 wks our and I’m wanting veggies and fresh fruits. But according to my plan I have to wait till 3 months. Where are you at in your food stages? Highest weight 316 leaving hospital post surgery 306 current weight 255 goal weight 135

So I’m now 7 wks post op. I have lost 54 pounds since May 26th which was the start of pre surgery diet. I lost 24 pounds pre surgery then gained 20 back due to fluids as I left hospital after 4 days in hospital post surgery. Since being out of hospital I lost everything again and lost a total of 54. So I suppose I’m just slightly disappointed that after 7 weeks I have not lost more than 30 lbs of new weight because I really don’t count the 24 pounds of weight I lost pre surgery. Where were you at at this 7-9 week post op on weight loss?

I would love to hear what your regimen of essential oils and vitamins are. I’m very new and been doing research on best practices so I can stay as healthy as I can. -
Internal Hernia post surgery?
Oceanlove replied to CyclicalLoser's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It’s normal to have the feeling you’re describing. I had problems bending certain ways. I also couldn’t sleep on my side or rolling. If felt odd. Getting out of the car or recliner was hard at times and had some pulling feelings. I think it’s just normal and it takes time to go away. I would say it finally elevated around 5-6 weeks post op. -
These stalls are no joke!
Oceanlove replied to Bryn910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I’m 5 weeks out as of Wednesday. I am experiencing my first stall. I expected from every post I been reading. I have lost 50 pounds up to this point. So I’m not to upset. It’s been a week sitting at this weight. I just expected to have lost even more this week since I returned back to work and tons more active. I was just super surprised I’m still at the weight. Then I realized I have not been getting my 64oz of fluids and I’m sitting about 300-400 calories this last couple days. I just hope all of our stalls break. -
Ok so I tried to search first before starting this but had no luck. I was diabetic before surgery taking 80units of levimere twice daily and 1000mg metformin twice daily just to try and control my blood sugar. Gaining weight because of the medication. The big push for the bypass was because everyone believed that post surgery you tend to get rid of diabetes. Well up till last couple days my glucose readings have been 95-104 when I check. I checked a bit earlier and I had a spike of 145 which freaked me out. Its now 4wks post surgery all I had today was my triple zero yogurt that I generally have and 1 cracker with pb on it. I have had this before with out issues. Idk does it take time for diabetics to eliminate it post surgery? Or could the worst be happening and it’s coming back ?

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Oceanlove replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my surgery 6/20 and I’m 4 1/2 weeks post gastric bypass. I’m on soft, fish, soft veggies stage. The hardest part currently is vitamins and liquid requirements. Protein for me is easy to get in. I hit my 50pound loss mark though today I’m excited about. Now on to my next 50 goal. I must admit it was not as dramatic as I was looking for. I personally look at a picture right before surgery and one today I don’t see a change. -
I’m going your route. Went to the Dr at week 3 for my post op he said everything looks great. I asked him about the glue he said it will come off on it’s own. He warned do not pick it off. So I’m not touching it. I’m now 4 and 1/2 week post. The tiny incision the glue fell off yesterday. It’s still indented where the incision was it has a dent where the skin needs to finish closing. I almost wish the glue was there till fully closed on all skin layers. Now my big incision the glue is on top of the massive scab it looks mean and ugly but not touching it because that’s one I really want it closed on as many skin layers as I can. Morale here don’t touch the glue it will come off on its own.

Low blood pressure 1 week post op
Oceanlove replied to soph504's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I don’t know the why of it. But I can tell you that I had high blood pressure before surgery somewhat controlled with meds. The same day of surgery post my blood pressure tanked. I was doing good to keep at 80/60 or something to that effect. That kept me in the hospital a couple extra days. In fact my dr had to have iv nutrition hooked up after it kept so low near the 36 hr post mark to try to boost it. It worked it brought it up to at least 100/70. We had a couple other issues pop up like my breathing would drop way down if they gave me iv pain medication. And my kidneys decided to act up. Thankfully my dr took good care of me kept me on the hospital till everything was for sure stable and thank goodness my insurance was one of the good ones and approved 3-4 full days in hospital if needed. And I did need all 4. At four weeks post surgery my blood pressure is still on the low side of things but it’s healthy compared to before. I’m off all meds. My dr thinks it will normalize as time passes. -
Well turns out it went back to its happy 104 spot a hour later and has stayed there. I can’t figure out what I ate that spiked but it went back down thank goodness. So I’m still off all the meds.

Trust me the recliner is where I had to sleep for two weeks the bed is still hard. I use pillows to sleep on my side since I’m a side sleeper but because of the angle I have to sleep it causes pain on my hip and shoulder so sleeping is complicated the first month.
