Advice needed please 🙏🏿 my tummy still feels so hard and blown up! I am day seven today, is this normal? I’m still doing liquid diet but still getting stitch pain on left. Are your tummies still really hard and blown up?

I guess we are all different, I know that I have to walk after my 200ml of soup to make everything move! TMI haven’t been for number twos for seven days! Going to take some meds tonight 😱

Who would have thought the joy of passing wind, at the moment it’s like winning the lottery!!
-
That sounds much more pleasant

Also have to wear my surgical tights for two weeks, so hard to get on
-
Me too, took so long to get the hair brush through! Has anyone changed their dressings yet. Just did two and was a bit icky so didn’t do the other three

You too NurseSmiley80 xx. Wow you sound like to are doing way better than me! I haven't left the house yet...am i being over cautious? Are you back to normal activities now? How come you left on puree stage and not liquids? you sound like you are doing amazing! What meds are you taking against gallstones? would love to know as most certainly do not fancy having my gallbladder removed? So pleased for you, well done x

I hope everyone is recovering well from surgery? I had mine done on Friday, home Sunday. Working hard at keeping up water and liquid diet. Everything seems to be going well apart from this horrid pain on left side. It comes and goes in waves. Nurse said it is gas and healing, need to keep walking and deep breathing. I have to say I am quite exhausted and could easily sleep a lot! but going to try and get moving today. How is everyone else getting on? would love to hear

Hi I am having surgery next Friday 27th!! I had to do a three week liver shrinkage. Would love to know what advice you where given ie what to buy etc.....would you mind sharing your top tips please?

Okay officially been given my date today...drum roll....Friday 27th July at St Peter's hospital , Surrey, UK. Still waiting to hear from pre op. So I travel to LA next week for my son's 18th Birthday (been planning that for three years) then I fly back for three days and then head to Spain to see my parents. Return home for three days and then in hospital for the op. Also have to do a three week liver shrinkage diet before hand!! PS not telling anyone about my op, I have just said I am having my gall bladder out! This is going to be the busiest July of my life and probably the most life changing. Feeling completely overwhelmed by everything at the moment and giving myself panic attacks, genuine ones not just saying that. Having a hideous menopause with mega hot flushes. Phew, is that too much information?!

Hi I am going to be in St Peter's hospital down in Surrey. Fingers crossed for your pre op

Hello, I have just joined the forum today and starting to feel a little overwhelmed. I am due to have my gastric by pass in the UK on 23rd July. Would love to join your group and have some support with what everyone else is going though. I have also hidden this from my family (apart from my husband) as I want to protect my son from what I am doing. Told people I am having my gall bladder removed!! I have been told to start a liver shrinkage diet three weeks before the op. I haven't really started preparing anything yet apart from ordering the vitamins.
