That is an awesome idea that never entered my mind. It's crazy that I've been getting stuck on tuna salad - now hopefully I won't anymore. Thanks for the tip!

Ask your doctor if you are going to get an abdominal binder - it made SUCH a difference in the level of pain for me, especially when getting up from bed or the couch. -
Emend or other anti-nausea med for surgery
ImGonnaLose replied to Who'sThere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor prescribed a Scopolamine Patch, which I put on behind my ear the night before surgery, and kept on for a day or two after surgery. -
I've heard goog things about this one (but I haven't read it myself) Amazon.com: Lost and Found: A Guide To The LAP-BAND Journey: Dr. Nirmal Jayaseelan, Cynthia Jones O'Kelly: Books

Cramps and can't use NSAIDS pre-op :-(
ImGonnaLose replied to Pangaeus's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good point about the celebrex. I tend to forget that it is the "exception" because my insurance won't cover it unless the doctor specifies that I need it instead of traditional NSAIDs because it's easier on the stomach. For some reason, the PA wouldn't take that extra step for me. If you do need to take NSAIDs, it good to take liquid (if it's available) and to pair it with something like Pepcid AC. And drink a lot of Water to wash it out of the pouch. -

I'm going to recommend getting used to heating pads and tylenol - you should avoid NSAIDs after surgery, as well (they can play a role in erosion) -
I miss beer. I didn't drink it very often, but I enjoyed it when I had it. And I miss Braum's limeades and the occasional ginger ale. But I haven't had any of those things since June 2008, and it hasn't been too horrible. But I've always enjoyed drinking plain water, too.

But a married hetero couple doesn't have to seek out (and pay) an attorney to draw up a special agreement - so why should a gay couple have to take those steps? Also - if marriage was created by God and is a religious concept, are you saying that a hetero couple that has only a civil ceremony isn't truly married?

For some, it's pure laziness. (Except for my armpits - I can't stand not to shave them.) There's just so much surface area on my legs! Too much work sometimes. -
Dear Admin...Where are the Blogs...
ImGonnaLose replied to Cingulus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's not just you. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/blogs/ is a completely blank page right now. -
thedailyplate.com has a really large database of foods and also allows you to add additional food.

loss of menstral cycle due to obesity?
ImGonnaLose replied to lookingtolose84's topic in The Gals' Room
Mine came back a couple of months after my surgery. I used to go anywhere between four to eight months between periods, and now I'm almost regular again. I have to admit, I liked NOT having it! (BTW - I'm 35, and I don't have PCOS.) -
Is there a new "Give Feedback" pop-up/corner on this site, or do I have a virus?
ImGonnaLose replied to Band_Groupie's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I sure hope it goes away soon, too. It doesn't actually let me give feedback - it just hangs out in the corner of the page. If I click on it, it takes me to www.kampyle.com, but not an actual feedback form. -

Just jumping in with a definition: Preemie: A prematurely born infant; born prior to 37 weeks of gestation Just because a baby gains weight does not mean he's born any later. So he's still a preemie. Just sayin'

For those of you who have made this, do you think it would still be good without the mushrooms? Or is there something else that could be substituted for the mushrooms? -

I've been following this thread for a really long time, but have always resisted the urge to post (not sure why - I think I'm just shy). But this quote is the absolute BEST!! Can I steal/borrow it? -Marianne -
Thread Starter indicator
ImGonnaLose replied to ImGonnaLose's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
go into the main page of any forum (such as Introductions or General Lap-Band Surgery Discussion) and you'll see a button called "New Thread" in the top left corner (to the left of the list of page numbers) -
There used to be an indicator on posts made by the OP in a thread (I think it said Thread Starter, or something similar, in bold). Is that gone for good? I hope not; I found it very useful, especially in multi-page threads. Thanks, Marianne

I'm confused, so thats it...
ImGonnaLose replied to L.J's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you self-pay? I'm self-pay, and I had no medical tests before surgery - not even blood work. Seemed a little odd at the time, but I was told that I didn't need anything because my medical history didn't have any indications. But that didn't make sense, either, since I have diabetes and heart disease in my family. But it all worked out ok for me. I would question why they think you don't need any tests.
