    Struggling with Weight Re-Gain

It's a struggle. I have been gaining weight also and need to get this weight off. What is the shake diet you are doing? I may need to jump on this wagon! 😊
  2. As of right now, I received quotes from two different surgeons for an arm lift. One was close to $15,000 and another was about $10,000. The tummy tuck for the higher end surgeon was in the $20k's and the lower end surgeon would give me a price right now. I have read on other forums, a lot of people use resident hospitals for plastic surgery. They say it is 1/3 of the cost and that a board certified surgeon is present for the surgery and supervises the whole thing. I'm close to the NYC area which has excellent hospitals so I know I'd be in good hands. Anybody on here look into resident hospitals for their plastics? Resident hospital is looking better and better to me. 😉

How are the May sleevers doing?

The way it was explained to me was the reason why they don't want u to drink during meals is so that you don't flush the food through which in turn allows you to eat more. It also ensures that u r getting the nutrients. This is what I was told. I know ppl that are a year or more out that will drink with meals now but I haven't tried it yet. I imagine I will one day tho. It drives me crazy!

How are the May sleevers doing?

I was sleeved on 5/22. I am down 77lbs (sw 265 - cw 188). Everything has been going good with the exception of a possible hernia. I need to work in the exercise tho.. especially hittin the weights. I've been going to support group meetings too which help.
  5. Hi all, I am almost 5 months PO. I am having this pain on the right side of my belly button. I think it may be a hernia. It started out with a very dull annoying feeling (like as if the button or waistband of your pants was bothering your stomach). By the weekend, it got worse. If I laughed, coughed or sneezed, I got this bad pain. Yesterday is got even worse. Now if I sneeze or cough, I get an excruciating pain and I feel something bulge/pop in my stomach (it's gross!). I called my surgeons office yesterday (as I'm not sure if it could be surgery related), and spoke to the nurse who didn't seem to think it was a big deal. So I left that conversation saying if it gets worse, I'll call my regular doctor. As I was driving home last night, I sneezed!😖 The pain was horrible...I felt the bulge/pop and it was downhill from there. I put a call into my regular doctor and have an appt. for tonight, although the rest of the night I was uncomfortable and debating a visit to the ER. I was in bed by 7:30! Has anybody else experienced something like this?

5 mths PO - having pain on right side of belly button

**UPDATE** I went to my family doctor who felt around and seemed to think that I just have a pulled abdominal muscle. I was not convinced. This does not feel like a muscle, I can tell you that much. He referred me to a surgeon for a second opinion. The surgeon felt all around and then he pushed in the belly button area and there it was!!! The pain!. He was very thorough and had me stand and lay down. Checked around other areas. The end result....he said it is an incisional hernia in the belly button. I do have to have surgery. He went over everything with me. Now the issue is...shouldn't I technically be discussing this with the bariatric surgeon who did my surgery (even though his nurse kinda blew me off)??? I will probably give them a call tomorrow and see what they say.

How are the May sleevers doing?

I was sleeved May 22nd. I am on regular diet now. I have been avoiding the scale but at my 1 week post-op I was down 19 pounds. I have my 1 month+ post-op this week. I don't think the scale budged much since the 1 week and I don't want to get discouraged so I am avoiding it. I can feel the difference and notice it with different things. The food is still a work in progress. I find chicken is difficult...tends to hurt. Hopefully that will get better over time. I can only get in about 2 oz of protein and maybe a few bites of a fruit/veggie. Some days I can't even get the fruit/veggie in. Still doing 2 protein drinks daily right now.

    Soft food suggestions

I was told that my meat should be crockpot consistency (where it falls apart). I have been making chicken and pork chop dishes in the crockpot. I also do scrambled eggs with 1 oz cheese (that is my favorite). I am still have a difficult time with the meat. Its a little uncomfortable. Most time I can only get in about 2 oz. On a good day, 3-4 oz. I'm sure it will get easier as we move along.

Day one of 2 week pre-op liquid diet

Going through the same thing. Been making my family hamburgers, hotdogs, steaks, french fries, it's not easy. Keep wishing I could have a bite but I keep thinking that in 4 weeks, I will be able to eat solid foods again too (maybe not french fries but healthier choices). Hang in there. It will pay off in the end.
