Silly kitty, I absolutely agree! “Minor abdominal surgery” are the exact words I used to anyone who needed to know I was going in hospital but to whom I did not wish to divulge info.

Thank you. I have been using all whey protein from different brands (same protein powders/liquids I’ve used for years). I’m going to try some Pea protein today.

Cold turkey worked for me. My surgeon told me I had to quit 6 weeks prior to surgery. I quit two days later. That was in Jan. I had my surgery May 17. Not a single slip up in between. That’s how important the surgery and quitting was. I just kept telling myself, “If I’m going through surgery to get healthy, why even THINK about killing myself with cigarettes?!”

I’ve been through this twice. Over a decade ago I had LapBand surgery. I was completely transparent. No secrets. I had no clue how many opinions, judgements and lectures I’d receive. I also found a lot of support. But, had I known, I sure would have done it differently! This time, for my revision, it’s was on a need to know basis. And, even though my band caused an injury and my port was painfully flipped, I caught some grief. 🙂🤷‍♀️

Thanks for this info. I’ve used/loved whey protein forever. Came home from the hospital after surgery and found even the smell of it disgusts me now. Natch, I have about 20 pounds in several different flavors in my pantry! I am choking it down, hating every sip.

It seems that everyone’s doctor gives them different instructions about post op diets and how to separate fluids and meals but rest assured, until you are further along ,(and getting closer to more solid food), mixing water with your rotein liquids is just fine.

I had my revision from Band to sleeve on May 17. Glad to here your surgery went went well, too!
