You brought up a great subject clynnc! We all deserve to treat ourselves when we reach Onederland! So... how are YOU gonna treat yourself? I am going to buy myself one of these ... Its an 80GB IPOD!! I've been wanting one for a while, but have refused to buy it until I hit Onederland! I can't wait to have it to workout with! In the past I would have just broken down and bought it without reaching my goal... hmm... guess the band has helped me in the self-discipline area as well. Well... what about you guys? What are you getting or doing for yourself when you hit Onederland? For those of you who have already reached Onederland.. how did you Celebrate?

Hey guys thanks for checking in! Wow everyone is kicking butt! Paulax, I think that you and I and Drews and Michelle are gonna get there together YEAH!!! I'm at 203 this morning! WAAHOOOO! Fluffer - I am so proud of you for following the WW and losing some pounds, that's awesome. BUT, I'm a little concerned... are you PBing a lot? Are you too tight or are you eating too big of bites or too fast? Try to remeber to eat small bites, chew thoroghly and eat slowly. Keep up the great work sister!!:clap2: Jaqui - You've done a great job! Congrats on the BMI... I've just now noticed that you are a fellow Tennesseean! I live just north of Chattanooga in a city called Soddy Daisy... ever been there or heard of it ? More importantly... do you know Keith Urban and can you tell me where he lives??? :faint:Just kidding! But.... I would take the info if you have it!:biggrin1: :biggrin1: Later Onderland Warriors! Keep it up!

Hey Maysters! Haven't checked in with you guys lately! How is everyone? Happy Bandaversary to all of you! We have done so well as a group! My Bandaversary is coming up in 9 days! I had hoped to be in Onederland (199) by then and am just outside of it. Today I weighed 204! How awesome is that?! I had another fill on Tuesday and am now up to 2.75 cc's in my band, so I'm still on liquids. HOPEFULLY I will make it to 199 by the 26th. If I don't, I won't be upset... this year has been amazing! I bought some size 14 MISSY's capri pants and a size 12 Missy's skirt the other day(It doesn't zip all the way, but it will). I have NEVER in my life shopped in the MISSY'S Department! I went straight from the Sear's half sizes when I was in elementary school to the Plus Size departments. I gotta admit that I am totally freaked out by the Missy's department and find myself wondering back to the safe, comfortable Plus Size area. This is a mental hangup that I have to get past. I feel totally out of my element in the Missys. How crazy is that? I have sooo many NSVs that I have exeperienced over this last year that I can't even begin to list them all... I had a wonderful talk with my surgeon the other day.... These were his comments: "Wow, do you realize that you have lost a lot more weight than we expect in just under a year?", and "You are definitely leading the pack", and "I can't ask for you to be doing any better" and "Since you have done so well... we aren't gonna go crazy with this fill.. the only thing worse than being too loose is being too tight". My doc made me feel sooo good about where I am right now! I love my band!!! Its the best 18 grand that I will ever spend. Also... I have been getting alot more attention from guys... A little background... my younger cousin (by about 4 years) and I have always been very close, she is practically my little sis... anyway.. she is adorable.. 5'6, 125, awesome blue eyes and gorgeous long flowing brown hair. She has recently become single(broke up with a total loser, thank you God!) and we've been hanging out a lot. In the past, I've always been the invisible fat girl with the hot cousin. Well, now I'm no longer invisible! I catch guys checkin me out a lot more now. This is nice, but I still am having lots of body issues. I think I've always hidden behind my weight and I am a little freeked out that its not gonna be my protection from the world anymore(I have no idea why I need this protection). Most people don't understand this because I am very outgoing... everyone's confidant, everyone's buddy,I never meet a stranger.... but nobody's girlfriend. My friends tell me that I put out a major "don't approach me vibe" when it comes to guys. I don't know why I do this... I guess it is because my self esteem has always been pretty low, which I have always attributed to being big. Anyway... the weight loss has been awesome and I will never regret being banded. I just gotta work on the self esteem and body image now. Slowly the fat girl in the mirror is being replaced by a "normal sized girl"...the transformation continues. Thanks for letting me rabmle and I know you guys can relate! Have a great day Mayster and thanks for being here for me!

Hey guys! Wow we've got some new Onederland Warriors! :welcomeB: Welcome Drews,Tootarts, Ole Miss Charlottes and Fitzgerald! A big Congrats to Jaqui! I am so proud of you! So how does it feel to be in Onederland? :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Come on guys, we can do it! Go get um Drews! :welcome: I can relate to those M&Ms.... I have had 2 reeses Peanut Butter cups today...:faint: . Man, I need that fill on Tuesday!
-
Hey Onederland Warriors! Hope all is well! Dot - Congrats on getting solidly into Onederland! :clap2: That is awesome sister! I'm glad that fill did the trick! Dynamo - You are sooo close, keep going girl! Jaqui - you can conquer that one pound! Up the Water, increase the exercise, decrease the carbs! Break through it sister. You can do it! Well - I'm still holding @ 207! I thought for sure I would break past that... but not yet. I can't wait for my fill on Tuesday. I still have the sore throat, what's up with that? I think there is some kind of creeping crud going around that starts with a sore throat.. either that or sinus drainage, I guess. On a positive not... I walked 3.5 miles yesterday @ 3.5 MPH and a 5% incline, did 2.5 miles on the Airdyne(exercise bike with arm movement handles) and an hour of pretty difficult free weights and weight machines. Yeah me! Where are the rest of our warriors? Check in with us folks! We miss ya!

Hey Maysters! I typed a lengthy post here last week and lost it somehow beofre I got it posted. Anyway.. Happy Bandaversary month to everyone!! Can you believe how far we've come? Keep it up everyone! Next year we will all be happily at goal and maintaining. Go MAYSTERS!

Hey guys! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm not reporting a weight today because of the TOM thing... I'll report in later in the week on that front. How is everyone doing? I've got a sore throat right now... and I'm tired of feeling all bloated! On a positive note I bought a pair of 14 capri pants in the Misses department yesterday(they are a little snug, but not for long)! OMG!!! I also bought a size 12 skirt.. it doesn't zip all the way yet.. but it will in about 10 more lbs! I am currently addicted to buying clothes that are a little too snug... waiting a month or so and trying them on again and they fit! Nothing better than that! Have a great week Onederland Warriors! Welcome Ladydi! Congrats on losing all that weight. You are doing a great job! Mini - your so sweet! Dwarden - glad that you got the port thing repaired and have restriction now! You will be breaking through to Onederland in no time! Fluffer - glad to hear you have some restriction. THIS IS A GOOD THING!! I think wraps are hard for anyone who has been banded to get down.. they are the one thing that I don't attempt. They get all gluey. How is the Weight Watchers thing going? Keep it up sister!
-
Welcome AMRDMR! You are doing great! Hopefully your first fill will help to push you into Onederland! Keep up the great work! Michelle and Fluffer! Keep it up ladies! Michelle- the band is a fickle b*tch, one day you've got restriction, one day you don't. Try to take advantage of those restricted days Fluffer - congrats on riding your bike! That is great quality time with your child! Don't worry about the pizza and reeces pieces, just begin again today... its a new day! You can do it About me - well, TOM is here and I swear I'm retaining about 50 lbs of Fluid I'm not going near a scale for a few days. I am enjoing eating right now, though. Come on Onederland Warriors! WE ARE GOING TO DO IT!
-
Happy Bandaversary Drews! You rock! Keep up the great work my Mayster friend! Awesome goals and awesome accomplishments. Here's to another great, losing year.:thumb:

Wow Fluffer! That is so terrible about your friend. I am so sorry for your loss. No wonder you've been doing the whole emotional eating thing. Congrats on joining WW , that will be a huge help in your weight loss! I'm sure the fellow bandsters will be helpful. I love talking to fellow bandsters at my support group meetings. Congrats on making this commitment. Annie - I haven't read the book but it sounds insteresting. How are you doing? Welcome sweethot143! You are very close to Onederland. Keep up the great work, it is just around the corner. Keep us posted!

Wow! I could pluck paragraphs from each of your posts, you guys are completely echoing my thoughts as of late... How in the world did I let myself get to 317 lbs... my skin is stretched and oh... the stretch marks. If I knew then what I know now... I definitely have a breast lift, lower body lift and arm work in my future. I've worked out a lot and drink tons of water, but my skin has been stretched out my entire life. I get compliments on a daily basis "your melting away" or "wow I didn't recognize you, you look like a totally different person" or "you don't need to lose 50 more pounds", etc. I can feel it in my clothes (I've gone from a 26 to a 14/16,), but when I look in the mirror I don't see everything that I have accomplished in the last year, I see the things that still need to be fixed. I'm definitely not happy when I look in the mirror.

Fluffer - What can we do to help ya? You've gotta take control of your eating... I know that I have learned more about food in the last year than I would ever believe possible... have you ever sat down and looked at the calories(and fat) that are in a bag of tostitos? If you are doing the whole emotional eating thing.. you need to ask yourself what is causing this.. are you depressed, bored, lonely, angry, sad? I know it is difficult to always make the right choices, but as long as you make good choices more often than bad ones, you are gonna come out ahead. Are you eating when you are hungry or is it head hungar? Maybe you could try tracking calories and such on fitday.com or sparkpeople.com, I've been using fitday for about a year now and it really helps for me to see exactly what I'm consuming.. calories, fat, carb and Protein wise. I wish I had a magic wand to wave over you Fluffer, but its all on you sister, you have to decide that you are ready to take advantage of the tool that you had surgery to receive. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help. I'm afraid I sound all 'holier than thou', but believe me I'm not perfect and I don't always follow the bandster rules(CHOCOLATE & JUNK FOOD makes its way into my diet), but I do most days and it has worked for me so far! You can do it girl! Dynamo - thanks for your kind words! I'm kind of see-sawing back and forth about getting an adjustment.. it is always such a big decision for me. My bandaversary is just a few weeks away.. this year has flown by!
-
Jen- Girly you need to not drink when you eat! That washes all the food through and keeps you hungry. Okay (tough love here), why aren't you following the rules? :boink:Are you emotionally ready for weight loss? If you aren't, you are probably eating around your band (believe me I know, I have sat with a plate of my mom's home cooking in my lap and practically cried cause I wanted to eat more, but my band wouldn't let me). Remember, nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. You gotta follow those rules if you want results! This band can be tricked soooo easily. You have to use the tool! I will be honest here... I HAVE NEVER WORKED SO HARD AT LOSING WEIGHT IN MY LIFE AS I HAVE SINCE BEING BANDED! I follow the rules, exercise 6 - 7 hours a week, count calories, carbs, fat and Protein and drink 100 ounces of Water a day, and still my weightloss is slow, lately(plus I need a little fill). I want this sooo bad and I know you do too. So, what is stopping you? If you are reverting back to old habits, the band isn't going to work. So what do you say? Are you ready to work your band? I hope so! :clap2: You can do it! Dynamo - congrats on the pound and the exercise! How about your water? Getting that in? Good luck!
-
Hey guys! Welcome Jen and Dynamo! Wow Jen - you've gone through a lot girl! So how come you keep having fills and unfills? Are the fills too agressive? Please don't feel down for losing 35 lbs, that is great. You shouldn't feel down about your loss if you haven't gotten your band adjusted properly yet. Sounds like you got everything irritated before the unfill. Hopefully the unfill will help everything in there to calm down. Are you planning an getting another fill soon? In the mean time try to eat good solid Protein and veggies... I (as a chocolate addict as of late) know how difficult it can be, so just yell if you need support. We are hear for you. Once you get to proper restriction, the weight will come off. What has your fill doctor been saying? Are you just really sensitive to fills? Do you follow the bandster rules for eating when you are filled? Please keep us posted! Dynamo - First congrats on being recently banded! Don't worry when you get your band adjusted to where you have good restriction, you will reach Onederland!(Step away from those M & Ms sister, they are bad news).:faint: Dot - Congrats on getting your fill scheduled!:clap2: I think I'm gonna have to get one really soon... I've noticed that I can eat more and am not as full for as long... I've had people notice(family) that I am able to eat more as of late.... man, I hate getting adjustments/fills.
-

Hey everyone! Just wanted to find out if what I'm experiencing is unusual... I'm coming up on my one year bandaversary on May 26th and am down 110 lbs! I'm thrilled with this, but my skin is driving me CRAZY! I noticed my face tingling and burning and itching and decided to go to a dermatologist. I was diagnosed with Rosacea.. giving Metrogel and another prescription topical med. These meds made my face worse... dry, flakey, red, etc.. But finally I think I have the Rosacea under control (by using Cetaphil cleanser and Aveeno moisturizers - after years of using expensive spa products, who knew?). Now I am experiencing another issue. I had my eyebrows waxed on Saturday by my hair stylist (who has done my brows for years). Well... MY SKIN CAME OFF with the wax and hair. YEOWWW~ that hurt! Now my skin under my eyebrows is all puckered and is definietly gonna peel.. the pain and tenderness and REDNESS is over, but now everyone is asking about my eyelids because it looks BAD. Have you guys noticed any "thinning of the skin" or anything? Could this be a lack of some vitamin or mineral? Could it be related to the Rosacea? My stylist used wax for sensitve skin and it wasn't hot. She went to the wax for sensitive skin after I lost a little bit of skin the last time she waxed them(nothing like Saturday.. I have racing stripes under my brows!). I've been waxing for years and have never had a problem.. Thoughts?! Right now I'm afraid to ever wax again... Are my skin issues weight-loss related? Hormone related? Nutritional issues? Any insight would be great!

Drews - Sorry you are in so much pain! I am sooo looking forward to pics from the Ball. Take it easy sister!
-
Welcome Sunta! Wow 3lbs away, that is great! Great plan to cut back on the wine calories. You can do it. Sorry about the sinus infection, I hate those. Good luck and keep us posted!
-
Jack - Welcome to the Onederland thread! I always read your posts and respect your opinion. You had mentioned somewhere that you were plateaued.. have you gotten past it yet? If so.. got any hints on breaking through a plateau? I think reducing my carb intake and adding more exercise is gonna help me, oh and staying away from the evil chocolate! You've come such a long way.. from 373! Don't give up on Onederland, you can do it.
