Yeah! I'm glad you are staying.. We woulda missed you... You'll have to ask one of the major Tony fans about the Smoke name, cause I got no idea, and actually I wondered the same thing myself.... Funny, I always called Rusty crybaby and for a while I called J.Gordon whiney... Guess we all evolve in our opinions...I do think that J.Gordon whines (he's a little nasally), but I'm also a big enough girl to admit that he's a hottie! I actually think Jimmie Johnson is cute too, just that he's too much of a goody-too-shoes for me, I guess. Do you guys ever vote on the Fox Sports Sexiest Driver award thingy? Dale Jr. won last year, and I have to say that as much as I love him, HE IS NOT THE SEXIEST driver in Nascar(most poplular yes, but most sexy nun-huh). Every year Kasey Kahne gets screwed out of that deal because all the Jr and J. Gordon fans vote for whoever is against Kasey so that Jr and J. Gordon won't have to face him (they have it set up in a bracket kind of like a play-off thing). Right now the voting is for Elliott Sadler versus Kasey Kahne and Elliott is ahead with 80-something percent. NOW COME ON!!! Elliott seems like a nice guy but sexier than KASEY? I DON'T THINK SO!!!! But if Elliott beats him, Gordon will win the bracket.. I just wish it was a fair representation... But hey, when your rich and famous and doing what you love to do, do you really care if you are voted Sexiest?? Dale Jr. seemed to be pretty embarrassed about the whole thing last year when they presented him their little award.... He seems really shy, which is one of the reasons I like him so much.... Anyway, here's a link to the voting if anyone is interested....http://http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/5340936 Okay enough of this girly talk, don't want to scare any guys who may be lurking away from this thread (I'm sure they are rolling their eyes and groaning ... sexiest , like it matters!!!) Its NOT ALL ABOUT HORSEPOWER GUYS!!!

Good gravy, now that's a question!! Never been there, done that.. But I can't wait to hear everyone's answers.. This sounds like a great thread for Vines, I always love her posts.. Vines, where are you????

Don't leave missy4gordon! You gotta jump in here and put us in our places if we're being offensive to your team. If somebody was talking about Dale Jr., I sure would! Believe me, I know Tony can be an a$$, but thats a big reason why I find him soo appealing, he says whats on his mind and isn't gonna apologize for it... Like I said before, Gordon is okay, its just Johnson and the Shrub that I don't care for... See, you should take this opportunity to make up nicknames that aren't so flattering for our guys......I always like to hear other peoples perspectives! Re-consider?? PLEASE!:ban:   Plus, I'm sure there are some lurkers out there that like the Hendricks teams??? Anyone??....

Brenda - I know how you feel.... I love this time of year in Tennessee because everything is so beautiful, but its heck on my allergies. Its amazing how lethargic and weak allergy/sinus infections can make us feel isn't it? I haven't been drinking as much water as I need to be the last few days, and boy can I feel it... Welcome all you Tennessee Bandsters! I have filed my appeal to my insurance company and am awaiting word from them. If my appeal is denied I'll proceed with the self-pay route. I hope to be banded by the end of May! Congrats again on the weight-loss Brenda and you too Skbishop! You guys are sooo inspiring!

They shoulda showed Tony climbing the fence live, what idiots! You watch the whole race and they decide to show 10 minutes of commercials instead of showing the winnner... About DW.. did you hear his comment before the race when they were talking about all the boos for Kurt Busch and others during drivers intro? It was something very dismissive like, "well we know how fans are". That really rubbed me the wrong way! If it weren't for us fans, has a$$ wouldn't have a job. I like him, but sometimes that old cocky smart-mouth from the 80s-90s comes out and I'd like to punch him! Yep, I'm over the Busch, Shrub, Johnson stuff... I find myself spending more time cheering against them than for the folks I like....Have fun in Texas Karen! I'll be watching for you.. hold a big ole LBT sign up for us! I hope Dale Jr. is the first repeat winner at Texas... cause he won his first Busch race and his first Winston race there... Go Dale JR!!! (Wouldn't Mind seeing Mark win either...)

WOOOHOOOO! Way to Go Tony and Dale Jr! What a race! I was totally bummed out when Junior got his car all banged up on lap 2, but man did he make a come-back! Glad to see Tony out-run the Hendrick bunch... I was so afraid that Johnson and the shrub would be one-two... Hated to see Kasey have problems, he woulda been right up there.

Hey Carol! I live just outside of Chattanooga, but I go shopping up your way quiet a bit (closest Williams Sonoma is at West Town). I love Turkey Creek too, been there several times! Seems like it just popped up there over night and the area has really exploded. Yep, the flea market is at Sweetwater, I haven't been up that way in a while, seems like I heard a commercial on the radio this morning about the flea market beeing under new management or something? I need to make a trek up to Turkey Creek soon and stop by the flea market to see whats going on there.. Nice to meet you Carol!

Good Article.. I had to re-read all those interviews with Dale Jr. and DW about the loss of his dad (links at bottom of article). I'm still sad about losing him.... I notice that your man is in two of those rivalries missy.. I must admit that I was a Jeff Gordon fan when he first started, but when he starting messing with my man Earnhardt Sr. and beating him.. that's when I began to dislike him. I'll never forget being at Daytona and hearing Earnhardt Sr. on the scanner telling his spotter to "tell that little SOB (Gordon) that if he doesn't stop getting me loose he's gonna re-gret it". Those were the days!

I forgot to add one very important skinny dream to my list.... I will steal Keith Urban away from Nicole Kidman. I will make him mine! Good Lord he's hot!! Could she be any skinnnier?

I see Busch and Kevin Harvick coming to blows before too long... if things keep going as they have been. Maybe Harvick will "box his ears!" I miss the good ole days too! They are men, I say let um' duke it out like the Allisons and Cale Yarborough! NASCAR is trying to become too politically correct and sophisticated. They are trying to appeal to other markets to the detriment of its birth-place, the SOUTH where we like it down-n dirty! Okay, I'll step off my red-neck soap box now... I bet they don't do anything to Gordon either...
-
Good luck today willybe! I can definietly relate... I've found that I don't pig out so much in the evening if I eat a more substantial breakfast and lunch. If I'm "really good" all day, I'm starving by the time I get home from work and look-out junk food! I'm currently appealing my insurance company(evil people) so, it will probably be May or June before I get my band.. When do you get yours? Congratulations on lowering your cholesteral, I've never really had that problem, but I'm a high-triglyceride girl... love those breads and sugars! Don't beat yourself up too much... before long you'll have the band to help you fend off that second and third humburger and tots!

That was a very interesting race! 3loves, our men mangaged to stay mostly out of trouble and finish decent. Tony lead a lot, I thought he would finish on up there, and Dale Jr. was in the top ten all day... They are back in the top ten in points. Yeah!! I laughed my head off at the Gordon/Kenseth "push". Thats VERY unlike Gordon, I can see why he was pissed though, that had to suck on the last lap! Kenseth definitely should have given him more time to cool off. Thats what always happens when Tony is upset, either the media or drivers get in his face when he's still ticked. Guess they'll never learn. I have to say.. with the race itself, the snow on Saturday and Kevin Harvick's comments about big Busch's ears, it was a totally entertaining weekend!!! Man, I just know that if Harvick had gotten to him, he would have punted Busch! That would have been awesome! On to Martinsville! Go Dale Jr!!

Got mine all pulled together this weekend. I'll send it out tomorrow. Got to get it out, its got to go alllllll the way across the country! -
Well, I just sent out my appeal package to John Deere Health. Long story short, they have an exclusion in my policy stating that WLS for obesity isn't covered. I know that I will probably end up paying out of pocket, even my surgeons office told me it would be a waste of time(the appeal). But, I HAD TO TRY! You know? I'm not handing over $18,000 without kicking and screaming first. I just wouldn't have been able to sleep with myself if I hadn't at least tried. John Deere will be getting some interesting reading, thats for sure. The letter that I sent is 3 pages and the package with documentation is about 1 inch thick. They probably will uphold their denial, but at least they'll know where I'm coming from, and I was able to get a lot of stuff off my chest. Wish me luck guys, though I have a feeling it won't do any good! Thanks for listening! I just hope they don't make me wait forever cause I'm ready to schedule my surgery!:faint:

Okay.. I've thought about this "skinny dream thread" for a couple of days now.. I have a lengthy list of things I will do, will no longer avoid, and won't do anymore. Sooo here's 20 or so items on my list........ 1. I Will go into The Gap, American Eagle, Express, Limited, Banana Republic without feeling like everyone is looking at me like "what is SHE doing in here?". 2 I will never step foot into Lane Bryant or ask another sales lady at a department store where the "Womens or Plus Size" department is. 3. I will ride roller coasters again (and not even bother to read about the ride's restrictions because I don't have to worry about it). 4. I will not be afraid to book flights on Southwest Airlines because I'm afraid they'll pull me aside at the gate and tell me that I have to purchase an additional ticket to accommodate my weight (also, I won't have to ask for a seat belt extension on other airlines, or hold my breath half of the flight cause the belt is too tight). 5. I won't look at the ground or avert my eyes when I see a good lookin man ("afraid he'll think what's that fatty looking at"). 6. I will not worry that the GNC store at the mall has weight detection devices that are hidden under the floor.. I swear every time I walk by there that stupid weight checking thingy says" Have you checked your weight today?" and I feel like it knows I'm fat! 7. I will go canoeing (don't think they make canoes in XXX wide, do they?) and hiking and scuba diving and snorkeling and not be embarrased to wear a bathing suit. 8. I will not worry that my car is tilted toward the side that I'm sitting in because I'm so heavy (can you say Paranoia?)! 9. I will not be the fattest one in the family. 10. I will no longer be the incredible invisible fat girl! (My perception, I know..) 11. I won't worry that chairs are gonna collapse, fold, disentigrate under my weight. 12. I'll be able to wear more that just the perfume from Victoria's Secret. 13. I'll go dancing! 14. I'll flirt, a lot! 15. Next time I buy a treadmill, I won't have to pay extra to get the one with a 300 lb weight capacity... 16. I won't feel ever again that I was passed over for a job because of my weight. 17. I will go jogging with my dog (she's a fatty too!) 18. I won't have to wait for the nurse in my doc's office to find a bigger blood pressure cuff... 19. This one needs a little explanation. For some cruel and unusual reason, my local Weight Watchers meeting is located directly next door to one of the best bakeries in town.. Every time I go to the bakery I feel like all the WW attendees are looking out the mirrored windows thinking "Whats she going in there for? She needs to be in here". SOOO when I'm skinny I will not go to the bakery, and I will not have to go to WW ever again! 20. I will live life, instead of just existing. 21. I will no longer have to take a hanfull of pills in the morning, and I'll no longer have to sleep wearing my oh-so sexy CPAP mask! Is that hot, or what! Thanks for the thread! Had lots of fun thinking about my skinny dreams... I'm sure I'll think of more. Man, I'm ready to get my band. This threads go me all revvved up!

The National Enquirer claims the "View" co-host, who has dropped more than 150 pounds over the last two-plus years, "almost died" late last week when she went under the knife for a breast lift. Star reportedly suffered complications hours after the elective surgery, including internal bleeding and a near heart attack, and was rushed to Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica. "Nurses saw her blood counts were dropping and she was going into shock. She was trembling and shaking uncontrollably," an insider tells the tab. "An ambulance was called and Star was rushed to Saint John's ER where she began blood transfusions to save her life. She lost close to half of her own blood and was in serious danger of going into cardiac arrest." On Monday, Star was sufficiently recovered from her "life-and-death drama" to be transferred to an exclusive private clinic that specializes in post-op plastic surgery patients. "She had an elective breast lift procedure. Star is recovering wonderfully," her spokesman tells the Enquirer (he denies In Touch's claim that she also underwent a tummy tuck "to remove excess skin"). So far there's no word on whether Mrs. Al Reynolds will be out of the hospital in time to celebrate her 44th birthday on March 24 -- or if her hubby will be by her side. Surprisingly enough, Al, the man Star has described as having "skin the color of cooked butter" and "the legs of a stallion" (they also have "an intoxicatingly sexual connection," which you didn't really need to know but why should we suffer alone with that knowledge), stayed behind in New York while she had the surgery. And in an unfortunate coincidence, he ended up in the hospital on the same day as his wife. Both In Touch and the Enquirer report that Al was rushed to the ER after he cut open his noggin when he fell during a workout at a New York gym. "He was taken to the emergency room where doctors administered several stitches," explains Star's rep to In Touch, adding to the Enquirer, "The doctors kept Mr. Reynolds overnight for observation. He is recovering and in good spirits." Star, by the by, has declined to give details on how she dropped her excess poundage, although she told People back in January the process was helped along by a "medical intervention" (most bets are on gastric bypass). "I will not be the poster child for a particular method," she explained. "Only your doctor can tell you what will work for you." </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I'm proud to say that I am 84% (Dixie)! Geeze, I've never seen a drive-through liquor store! I like to eat carmel cupcakes covered in icing and drink a cold coke while having a yard sale with my ant(aunt) yall!

Way to go Kasey, Dale Jr. and Tony! I was glad to see Mark Martin finish up there too. What about Kyle Petty being 8th? Haven't seen him up theire in a long time, we've always been big Petty fans, my grandparents were really big fans of King Richard. I hope Kyle's finish and Bobby Labonte going to Petty Enterprises will help them to turn their program around! Yep 3loves, its pretty obvious that Darrel has problems being impartial.... He's the same way to Dale Jr. sometimes too... I don't like any of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers, except for Gordon(he's okay). I don't like Rick Hendrick... It ticked me off when Clinton pardoned him and got him out of all that trouble.. Just goes to show what money can do for you.... But I'm sure they all have some skeletons in their closets as we all do... Can't wait for Bristol! It's always exciting.... Anyone going?

Thanks for all the info Brenda! You are aweseome! I can't believe you've lost 140 lbs, thats amazing! I need to loose at least that much. Dr. Rose will be my surgeon as well.. I asked him about how he determines band size, he basically said that it depends on what he finds when he gets in there.. I'm sure he learned a lot from your case, sorry you had to be the one to pave the way... Were you a self pay? I'm currently appealing my ins co's denial, but I'm pretty sure that I'll end up paying my self, but I'm worth it! God Bless! -
Man what crappy weather in Atlanta. I live about an hour and a half away, and it looks like today's weather is about the same.... 3loves did you hear DW talking about Smoke yesterday? I thought his comments were a little harsh. Something to the effect that Tony needs to get over trying to teach the rookies lessons and worry about driving his cars to win races... This is true, but it was like he was scolding Tony on national TV. If Tony was watching, I'm sure that he didn't appreciate it. I know he and DW have exchanged not so kind words in the past on tv... That was about the only interesting thing that I saw on Fox's "TV Coverage" yesterday, geez, talk about stall tactics.. NASCAR should have called it hours before they did. I felt bad for the folks sitting in the rain, but that was their choice, I guess. I know my cousin was there and she and her boyfriend left hours befor they called it after looking at the local radar... Oh well, we'll see what happens today! Go Dale JR!!!

Everybody Revved up for Hotlanta!? Oh, no I just went to NASCAR.com after typing the Hotlanta sentence (to see about qualifying) and saw where Bobby Hamilton Sr. has neck cancer! He is quitting racing to have the treatment. I hate to see that. We just lost my uncle in September to Lung Cancer, its horrible! Well, now I'm bummed... I'll definitely keep Bobby in my prayers... Talk to everyone on Monday, Go Dale JR!!!
