I am using my 401K... unless by miracle my appeals work. I'm taking out a "loan" from my 401K under the Medical Hardship provision. I will be repaying it over the next 5 years with interest.... This way, I don't have to pay a tax penalty... Here's some info from smartmoney.com that I found... This is pretty much my scenario to a tee... "Loans These days, about 82% of 401(k) plans have loan provisions. That means you can borrow money from your nest egg and pay it back to yourself without incurring penalties. Typically you're allowed to borrow up to half your vested account balance, but not more than $50,000. You have five years to pay back the loan, usually at competitive interest rates, and you can take even longer if the money is going for the down payment on a primary residence. Most companies don't restrict how you use the money. Better yet, getting it is a snap: There's no credit check since the funds in your account serve as collateral and many of the bigger plans now are automated, so all you have to do is call in your request, and you'll be sent a check in a few days. You pay interest as well as the principal on the loan to yourself, usually through an automatic payroll deduction. Plans are required to charge a market rate (usually prime plus one or two percentage points), but funds go right back into your account." I chose this option because I just payed off my land that I hope to build my "dream house" on in the next year or two and I didn't want to impact my credit by having to get a loan for the surgery... Its not the ideal situation, but I felt it was my best option...

Had to post this pic of Dale Jr's car that he is running this weekend, and the article explaining why he's running it.... I miss Dale Earnhardt!!!:cry I would love for Dale Jr. to win it this weekend! MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his two DEI teammates will sport his father's classic black paint scheme in this weekend's Busch and Nextel Cup races at Talladega Superspeedway. Dale Earnhardt Day is Saturday, on what would have been the seven-time NASCAR champion's 55th birthday. The primary sponsors of the two DEI Cup cars -- the No. 8 Budweiser with driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., and the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker with driver Martin Truex Jr. -- and two Busch cars -- Truex Jr.'s No. 8 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker and the No. 11 Menards/Turtle Wax with Paul Menard -- are paying tribute to Earnhardt this weekend. "I think this is a great tribute to Dale on such a special weekend," said Teresa Earnhardt, President and CEO of Dale Earnhardt Inc. "To have all of our sponsors come together with this tribute and want to be a part of it says a lot about the respect they have for Dale's accomplishments." Earnhardt won 10 times at Talladega, including his final Cup victory on Oct. 15, 2000. He will be inducted posthumously into the speedway's International Motorsports Hall of Fame on Thursday, with the induction ceremony to be shown at a later date on SPEED. GO DALE JR.!!!!!

I like your disclaimer 3loves! I read that about the guys getting electrocuted at Talladega, what a shame!:cry

Congrats Heather! You look awesome and you are such and inspiration! Your daughter is a doll, I can see where she gets her pretty face. It's not conceited to think that you are hot, because you are and your confidence is well deserved!!! Congrats again, you are well on your way to your goal!

Great job Sherri! Keep on keepin' on!

He ran 8th, not too great, but had a good time... The bad part is that we go home a little before midnight, could have probably caught the end of the Phoenix race, but I didn't even think to check to see if it was still on... We have a television in our truck, but no cable at the racetracks.. Oh well, there is only a few night races that I'll miss... Thats one of the things that I love about Dale Jr., if he screws up, he is the first to admit it and apologize.. The Busches are both idiots if you ask me. I swear, its like they take turns pissing people off! Kurt says "okay baby brother.. its your week to look like an idiot...". Later!

I need a personal assistant to manage my leftovers!
kim2bhealthy replied to Sunta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have this problem, yet.. but I have noticed that a guy I work with brings in the strangest combination of leftovers to work with him for lunch. He'll bring in pizza, Japanese food and KFC all for one lunch. I'm not sure if his wife is punishing him by not allowing him to go out to lunch with the guys in the office, or if she just cleans out the fridge once a week and packs it off to work with him..., either way he seems to enjoy not having to make the dreaded decision of what to do for lunch.... So my suggestion is... pawn it off on a significant other or maybe a elderly relative? I bring my 83 year old grandmother left overs or I order an extra plate for her when we go out to eat.. she really appreciates the change of pace from her usual stuff. Also, my parents have a bachelor employee, so my mom is always saving leftovers for him, he loves it! Hope this helps! -
Mine Was ..... " Something Special in the Kim" and "The Biggest Kim2bhealthy Pennies Can Buy" Now, that says it all! Cool Site!

Nope- Not a single lap... I did see the replay of Jr.'s wreck with Kyle Petty, and I read on www.dalejr.com his weekly race report.. Glad to see Harvick win one for Richard Childress.. Sounds like Tony was very impressive... Heard something about "the shrub" getting penalized for 5 laps? Whats that all about? Hopefully Dale Jr. will do better next week. I know he really felt bad about getting in to Kyle Petty.. Later!

Awww Heather! You don't sound silly at all!

Penni - I think you could take the sticky off this thread and leave it open (hoping for wayward bunnies) and probably close the Easter/Spring Exchange Sign up thread that is also a sticky.
-
I'm in K@t! I'll PM my address info to you... Oh Moderator.... can you make this a sticky? Thanks so much!
-
THE EASTER BUNNY DIDN'T FORGET ME AFTER ALL!!! He was just running a little late.... Thanks so much for my gifts Illude! I got a couple of cute picture frames, a red flower votive candle, a cute little shelf frog and a couple of other goodies along with a very sweet card. Thanks again Tabbi! Sorry, can't post pics, I'm having some technical issues with my digital camera right now... On to the Summer/4th of July exchange!
-
Yeah, what K@t said! That darned LBT Easter Bunny gave me the shaft! I put a lot of effort into the gift that I sent, and Penni showed so much appreciation for it by posting photos and thanking me! Thats the way this whole thing should go... I guess I feel cheated that I went to the effort and whoever got my name didn't, or couldn't, or whatever... Even if my secret bunny had an emergency, got sick, or wasn't financially able to send a gift, a PM explaining the situation would have been appropriate; and would have been enough for me..... Guess that's the risk you take... I'll participate in the next one, and hope it turns out better! Okay, enough whining from me! Later LBT exchange friends!

So - what's your status?
kim2bhealthy replied to sleepyjean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Great pics everyone! I'm in the single category, but I'm happily single, with my eyes on the lookout for Mr. Right or Prince Charming, whichever comes first! Josette- beautiful pics, what an awesome setting! I love that you are dedicating your weight-loss in memory of your mom, she was so young...:think -
Karen- so sorry to hear that you were denied... Are you going to appeal? I can definitely relate, I've been denied twice and just submitted my second appeal to the Ins Co. and to my state Department of Commerce and Insurance. Is self-pay an option for you? That's what I'll probably end up doing.. I hope it works out for you! You should appeal at least once, and really bombard them with information. I sent a package about an inch think in for my appeal... Let me know if I can help with what you need to include... The appeals department at my ins. co. even complimented on what an impressive, actually I think she said "beautiful" appeal package that I submitted. Unfortunatley, I am trying to fight an exclusion... Good luck, and keep us posted!

Phat Girlz - The Movie <HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I had posted this in the talk-lounge, thought I'd copy it over here too... Loved this movie... Hello! I just wanted to let everyone know about a great movie that I saw this weekend. It is called Phat Girlz and Mo'Nique (The Parkers) is the star. This movie is GREAT!!! There are so many things and situations in this movie that I could relate to (weight related). I laughed, I cried.. You gotta go see it. Monique plays a plus-sized fashion designer-wanna be who is trying to find acceptance in a skinny-girl world and has to learn how to love herself! I really encourage anyone who has ever felt scorned, embarrassed,or left-out of the world (because of weight issues)to go see it, it is very inspiring! I wanna be a Thick Madame (you gotta see the movie to get this)! There were parts that were a little over the top, but all and all both myself and my skinny cousin that went with me enjoyed it a lot! It is rated PG-13, by the way. Anyone else seen it? If anyone does, let me know what you think! Later my LBT friends!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
