Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to try salad with some chicken on it for dinner. I really have not ventured out into the veggies yet, mostly all protein and some carbs. I have a feeling once I start getting more fruit and veggies into my diet I'll start feeling better.

Port pain..ow! ow! Ouch!
Trae replied to Jesusislove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I just love this site, I feel like I'm not alone, and I don't need to call my Dr. office crying all the time. I hope someone who has been post op longer than us will respond and let us know if this pain goes away or we just need to deal with it!:glare: -
I have not had a problem with getting anything stuck until last night I think. I had sloppy joes and fries so I'm not sure which one did it the bread or fries, but something is wrong today I still fell like there is a rock in my gut, I was not able to eat Breakfast this morning, which is strange for me I always have breakfast. I'm feeling like something needs to move. I know we're supposed eat only Protein, but I'm feeling like I need a salad you know some roughage to get things moving. Has anyone else experienced anything like this, feeling backed up? If so what did you do to reslove the problem?

Port pain..ow! ow! Ouch!

I am totally having the same issue. I sit all day at work and am in so much pain, I had my surgery more than 2 months ago and still have discomfort in that area. It also feels like a hard rock to the left of where my port is. I've called my Dr's office and they say it's normal, but I'm just wondering if the pain is going to go away or is this something I'll be dealing with forever. I only feel good if I'm streched out like standing or lying down. -
5 weeks, 3 fills, NO restriction! Is my band a dud?
Trae replied to LiseSeattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my first fill 6 wks out I got 1.5 cc's and felt restriction for the first couple of days, but now feel like I can eat much more, but I notice I stay full longer. On Friday I ate a whole Breakfast burrito, and felt so crappy about being able to finish the whole thing, but it kept me full all day so I skipped lunch so I guess as long as I'm staying full and not eating just to eat, and losing weight that should be okay. I worry about getting too many fills too soon I don't want to plateu too soon, last week I lost 1 lb, and I'll check my weight again this week and wait until I go 2 weeks with no weight loss before asking for another fill. How is everyone else handleing when to get another fill?? -
Yeah I did it on Thursday and Friday, but could not get out of bed to save my life this morning, but tomorrow is a new day right?

I also had to do liquids 2 wks b4 surgery and it was hard, I was starving! I called my Dr. a few days into it cause I was getting really dizzy and feeling like I was going to fall down so I was told to add 2 low cal high Protein Snacks, like 100 cals or less. It helped, but I was still starving. For the 2 wks after surgery I couldnt even get the liquids down, and was not hungry at all so that was a breeze!

Okay so I was banded in Feb, and I said as soon as I feel good I'm gonna work out, this is going to be great right?? Well easier said than done, after making excuses for not getting to the gym for 2 months, I woke up at 4:30 this morning and got into the gym. Geeze did it feel great! I worked out for 45 mins and I had so much energy this morning I can't wait to get up and do it again tomorrow morning. I don't know why I've been full of excuses, I think I just get intimidated at the gym aka meat market, but I just put my IPOD on turned it up and did not pay attention to anyone else!:tt1:

I had surgery back in Feb, and I still have pain near my port site. I just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. My Dr. says it's normal, but it just feels pretty severe, like a pulled muscle. I sit all day at my job and thats when it hurts the worst, I feel best if I'm standing or lying down. Any feedback about this would be great, like is the pain going to eventually go away, or is this something I'll have to deal with forever?

I know for me personally before surgery I partied a lot on the weekends going out drinking on Sat night followed up by champagne brunch on Sunday mornings, but since I've had the band I find I just can't get the cocktails down like I used to. This past Sunday at brunch I couldnt even finish a bloody mary! It kind of bumms me out that I can't drink like I used to, but then I think of all the calories and money I'm saving!

Yeah right after surgery I was in so much pain, for like 2 straight weeks I pretty much stayed in bed. My Dr said it's cause they seperate the muscle, you never realize how much you use your abs for EVERYTHING until you go thru something like this!
