Weight Loss Journal (May 2018, Sleeve)

WOW! You look amazing...Congratulations and it's so awesome that your weight loss encouraged your wife to have surgery as well. I wish you both the best!!
  3. Hello All, I have searched the threads for shakes but most that are mentioned have milk product in them (I'm lactose intolerant) I have also contacted my nutritionist and I have tried the ones that she suggest like plant based, I tried "Plant Head" a vegan protein shake and I thought I was on to something, two weeks later it was not agreeing with me anymore...Anyone out there have a very sensitive stomach like myself and have found a shake that works well for them please let me know. I'm 5 months post op and having a problem getting all of my protein in so a good protein shake would be great for me to add into my meal plan. I've tried yogurts and also a lactose free yogurt that I found at walmart and they make me ill. Right now my appetite is very low, I eat my 3 meals a day and every now and then I may have a snack in between meals. I can only eat between 2- 4 oz. at each meal and feel full. (It's funny because I DO NOT lose weight fast eating such a small amount) I'm okay with that because with thyroid and menopausal issues I' m so grateful to have lost what I've lost in 5 months Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
  4. I agree planning is key especially for me ((Hugs))
  5. @FluffyChix Thank you so much for taking the time to break it down like that and share your food log, I do log all of my food it just works better for me, but I usually do it after I eat each meal but it makes so much sense to log it for the entire day, l will admit I am one of those that will get to my last meal and then realize that dang!! I did not meet my protein for the day. And I usually cook a couple of meat dishes on Sunday's so I pretty much know what I have to work with as far as my protein for the week...I needed to see that because I was starting to feel like it's a chore to get the protein in and that's not good. New goals ๐Ÿ˜Š

What is the best time?- May be TMI

The restriction is real!! Love it LOL. I agree with the OP I would suggest taking at night too. I'm the same as you with getting in veggies so i usually mix some spinach, zucchini, squash or carrots with ground chicken or turkey so that I can get some in...It's going to get better for us, hang in there and so will I
  7. True...when I used the vegan brand I had to double the recipe and add peanut butter powder to get enough protein and flavor. You all ROCK!! When all else fails and you've tried everything, go to the experts at BPal ๐Ÿ™Œ Thanks again!
  8. Thank you, It was easier in the beginning to get the protein in because I always added a shake in, I'm going to try the suggestions given here and I will keep you posted. Thanks again
  9. That sounds so yummy!! Will try it this weekend Thank you ๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. Thanks for the info, I am going to see if I can find it in lactose free.

    Type 2 deibetic

I agree totally with @FLHappyGirl I'M 4.5 moths post op and I was told by my endocrinologist not take any meds after surgery and I too stay away from sugar and most carbs, if I have a little it's whole grain. I never really had a sweet tooth so that makes it easier. I do check my blood sugar several times a week at different times of the day to monitor. I wish you the best ๐Ÿ˜‰

    "You're too skinny!"

@Oct517 @DeeberLee @Lynnlovesthebeach Hi there...I've experienced the same comments except the cancer one YET whoaaa now that is BOLD!! The work folks can be the WORST unfortunately and when people try to call you out in front of a lot of people that is nothing but a hater bottom line!! Please DO NOT allow anyone to rob you of your joy, they see you happy and feeling good about yourselves and it's really sad but people can be very insensitive. I do notice that the men that I work with and the regular men customers that come in to my work place are really genuine and sincere. Now when people make ridiculous comments like these I just start laughing and say and I'm not done yet and keep it moving...No one walked in your shoes before surgery and knew your struggles but YOU. They only motivate me to work harder. I feel great and NOBODY is going to take that away from me. Smile and wave ladies you are doing a fantastic job!! I wish you all nothing but the best!! ((Big Hugs))

Seems I always push the envelope, but......

Same here, I was fine too and was eating solid food by week 6 but that was ok'd by my team. (No beef or pork though and still none at 4.5 months out) They move their patients along quickly if you can tolerate it.

    Awkward at Work

Hi there, you may not lose too much hair that it is noticeable to others, you look pretty young. I've read on this site that a lot of people keep their surgery private and choose not to tell people which is perfectly fine and I respect them for that. In the beginning I was going to keep it quiet but I am not a good liar and I'm older and would forget what I told who...funny thing is that I am not an open book at work but I work with a LOT of people (hundreds) and see a lot of regular customers so I just said what the heck let me tell any and all who are interested that way they can hear it from the horses mouth and not spread rumors, interestingly most people that work in my section have been motivated by my weight loss and have started working on their weight, after I came back from surgery I started walking 1 mile twice a day on my breaks and now so many people are doing the same, with that said if you want to just tell them then do but you DO NOT owe anyone any explanations. That's your personal choice if you want to share. Congratulations on your weight loss and keep up the good job!
  19. Don't be scared, there is just a lot of information on this site that folks are kind enough to share but can be very overwhelming, everyone's experiences are totally different. Follow what your doctor says and you will do fine. Look at a lot of the advice as worst case scenario. Make it work for you. I was so overwhelmed when I first joined this site and started reading but you take what works for you and what doesn't then look at it as " just good to know information" You will get into your groove and be just fine. Congratulations!! you got this! ((Hugs))
  20. Congratulations on your surgery...Check with your team, I was able to have decaf coffee right away and just mixed protein shake in it for creamer.

Sneezing and Other Weird Signs Your Pouch is Full

I did sneeze in the beginning when I started on puree but it did not last long, now I only burp when I'm full which I never did before surgery, but I'm so ok with that...thankful for the sign and restriction YES!!
  22. You're funny @Carl Winslow I think that's pretty normal, it will pass and you will start losing weight like crazy. You are gonna be just fine
