Wanda247 replied to jazlynvictoriaxo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's only been 5 days since your surgery, you are still swollen so don't stress yourself, keep following the plan and the weight will start dropping and also concentrate on getting your liquids and protein in. You got this -
Woo hoo!! What an awesome feeling right...Congratulations

Coworker Flat Out Asked If I Had WLS
Wanda247 replied to Swanton_Bomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people are just downright CRAZY!! Bottom line, they say and do all sorts of things. After I thought about it for a long time, I decided to just tell my co-workers because most of them gossip so much, they will even make up crap to talk about smh...so since I beat them to the punch they started telling some of our regular customers OMGEEEEE...I was too outdone when one co-worker said that so and so customer wants to see you, I'm like for what?? When I went out front to see what she wanted, she said wow you look great, how much weight have you lost... I told her thank you and said out loud so they could all hear "You all are pathetic" my younger sister works with me and she is so sweet and shy, I'm total opposite...she says all the time to me that I say what people are thinking but won't say it out loud. If people are bold enough to ask me something crazy that's none of their business then I have the right to respond with a CRAZY answer. LOL Don't let them get to you, it is going to continue happening because inquiring minds really want to be noisy. The more weight you lose the more confident that you will have and those insane comments/questions will mean nothing to you. ((Hugs)) -
She's so hilarious @FluffyChix tehehehehe

No you're just seasoned that's all Kathy 😘 I'm embarrassed to say that I have been using a space heater here in Florida when the weather gets below 60 degrees. It's crazy to think January 2018 before surgery I was in Tahoe on vacation, it was 19 degrees and I slept with the sliding glass door cracked LOL 360 turnaround 🙃

I drink plain peppermint tea, no sugar added. It helps me a lot or you can cut a lemon in half and squeeze some of the juice in your mouth, or lick on it (weird I know LOL) I get that from my mom, I keep it in a small ziplock bag in my purse.

Don't be ashamed of saving your life, and you don't need to tell anyone especially if you think they will have a negative impact on you. Your husband will come around, he just does not completely understand, maybe take him to one of your doctor/nutrition visits and a support group so that he can see that others are going through the same thing that you are. Go have your surgery honey so that you can feel like a new person...I'm 5 1/2 months post op and haven't felt this great in over 20 years. You got this!! ((Hugs))

Hi there...You are under a lot of stress and my heart goes out to you, my one and only son had medical issues as well growing up which entailed a lot of ICU stays in many hospitals, some close to home and some far away from home, so I can relate just a little because your load is much larger. This is just a thought because I am totally not in your shoes honey but you know when we get on airplanes and they go over the drill and tell us if an emergency happens, even if we have kids we are to put on our oxygen mask first before securing it on our kids because if we cannot take care of ourselves first then we are no good to our children...so try your best to take a little time for yourself and regroup, prepare some healthy snacks and make food that you can get to quick and not make the worst choices, you went through a lot to have surgery and you deserve to be healthy and feel good too. Make a meatloaf, bake some chicken, (food that you can get to quick and heat in the microwave) buy protein bars, pre-made protein shakes etc. that you can just throw in your purse when on the go taking your daughter to the hospital...I know it's hard but take care of you so you can give the best care to your children. Our children mean the world to us and we would rather endure their pain if we could switch places, but mommy please take care of you first (it may sound selfish, but it's really not) so that you can have the strength to care for your babies. I think you did the right thing my reaching out on the site because we get you and understand...if you mess up and eat something bad it's ok, we are all imperfect humans and you are aware of it so you are to be commended considering what you are going through. You will get a lot of good advice here Take care of you and your kids and we are here for you ((Hugs))

Okay you are on the west coast, it's nice there.

I know right lol. I live in Palm Beach County, south Fl...what about you?

I think that you're the only one Kathy lol...It started for me after losing about 30-35 lbs and yes I researched it and it does state we are losing our cushion (fat), I'm cold now everyday and before surgery I was hot flashing like crazy and could never sleep in socks, now I sleep in socks. I try to bring a throw to work everyday...It's a good thing to me 😁

Sleeved 1/5/19 pain and emotional
Wanda247 replied to michelle.boone27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi there and welcome, so sorry that you are feeling a little down, it is normal, your body is going through changes But it really does get so much better after all of the gas passes and you start to heal...I was very emotional right after surgery in the hospital but it was better once I got home, my gas pains lasted for about 6 weeks and I don't think that's the norm for most people but once it was gone I felt lie a new woman and still do at 5 months PO. You will too so hang in there sweetie ((Hugs)) -
That's funny...The State of Florida does not require weight on the D/L This is the first time that I am hearing of this BUT if they did I'm sure I'd have put another number as well. Congratulations to all of you on your accomplishments

Maybe start seeing the nutritionist again so that she can give you some tips to help you get back on track, I know it's hard but you gotta start somewhere and take it one day at a time. You can do it, you did it before, it's just getting motivated again so get the help that you need to get you back on track. Keep in touch with this site, you will find lots of motivation and tips as well...you may just read that one thing that makes a bell go off in your head like YES I can do this. I wish you the best ((Hugs))

Don't beat yourself up, it happens to most of us. I lost 1 lb in January but I fit in a size 11 jeans on Friday so I'm happy...I don't lose weight fast but it's coming off slowly. My doctor said the weight comes off up to 12-18 months. Keep following your plan and it WILL come off. You're doing really well
