@jsan just doing very light weights. I’m so out of shape any movement is working out. It gets me in and forces me to stick to the hour workout, but realistically it’s probably similar to an even slightly more fit person walking with 5lb dumbbells 😂
-
@Tracy1978 I tried that too!!!

Man! I'm down only 30 lbs PO. I've been fighting the same 3 lbs up and down for 10 weeks. Probably time to call my NUT, but last time in I was doing everything "right". :/ I've added in 4 days a week of an hour of crossfit. I'm up to 900 cals, keeping carbs under 50 g and fat under 30 g, and protein over 80 g. Water is probably around 80 oz, not inc my shake.

Not yet 😞. I’m failing myself with this surgery ( or working out at all, not eating as good as I could) and honestly, I’m embarrassed to go see my dr 😭

YES. In droves. I didn't have a ton of it to begin with sooooo.... I'm def going to have to get in and get it cut short. It is/was very long, and curly, so it looks to be thick, but is actually pretty thin. I think I've lost about half of it. Loosing more hair than weight. :(.

Surg 7/17. I 'm pretty much eating what I want, but I've been stalled for 2 weeks, which is frustrating! I'm going back to all protein shakes for a few days to see if I can shake things up a little. @RobbieBG what's your cal count per day? @nibble how are you doing?

Anyone have a good egg salad recipe?

@lizvirgo09 is your surgeon requiring the premade shakes? Mine made me buy a medically formatted one, but it’s powder so I can make it with almond milk or water as I prefer. Just a few more days for this phase, you can do it! You may want to look at the Baripal store for items that you can use during your first 2-3 weeks post op and purchase now. I thought “ehh- no problem, I can get all these “approved” things from the grocery store”... turns out the sodium in the creamed soups is crazy salty, I hate the fake sugar taste and thus hated jello and popsicles, I love plain water but was craving flavor with it; it was a lot of complete opposite of what I had planned for. The Millie’s sipping broths and BariPal fruit mix is good, and @nibble posted a great post with info for some stuff. And use us! Everyone here is or has just gone through what you’re going thru!

Try drinking warm or room temp water, and not cold. I’m 9 days out and my tummy still makes a lot of jerky moves. The cold water or frozen stuff at the hospital caused me to throw up every time, took 4 days or so before I could drink without it reeking havoc.

Welcome! So I traded one shake for 3oz chicken, made it so much more doable
-
I was 7/17 too! How much walking are you doing? I got my rounds in at the hospital but I’ve been slacking here at home!
-
Your surgeon should have given you guidelines on this; from what I’ve seen it tends to be a little all over the place. Mine was 3 protein shakes, (I did the Costso Premier Protein), 3 oz of lean chicken, unlimited (specific) veggies, and then I was supposed to really watch the SF in takes. And a lot of water. Really; low low carb. Let me see if I can get a picture in here.... but all of #2 is a no no.

What brand of SF sorbet are you getting? I’m struggling to find some!

Thank you Everyone! I was, poking for the scoop on poop too! 🤣

Pre-op was hard for sure. Did a house purge which made it some amount easier, but hub and kids mean there’s always something around. Honestly, it was a lot of mind over matter, I knew it would be totally apparent to my dr. If I didn’t, and it mattered to me that I showed my commitment to them as well.

@nibblehave you found a good jello recipe? I hate the fake sugar taste, and don’t really want my kids to eat it either.

i finally got approved. They took the whole 30 days, and didn't update my surgeon until business day 31. I'm sooooo excited and nervous!

Another 7/17 here!!! Have been reading this forum for a few weeks but this is my first comment. Way to go for everyone who has already made it through surgery! My pre-op diet has been 2 weeks of (3) shakes, 1/2 cup broth, and unlimited veggies, and 3oz chicken per day. I've been mostly hit with a few misses. Down 12 lbs so far. So, all of pre-op has been going well. I have my list of hospital stuff that I'll pack up tonight. I have read and reread over my week one and two post-op diet. But, I am getting nervous. It all seems too simple (post-op food, that is). My surgeon's office has provided me with post-op vitamins (Bariatric Fusion) and (2) tubs of protein powder that they want me to start off with, Other than that, I've not done much shopping or prep. I'll have hubs grab the SF Jello/Popsicles and broth, Looks like I'll have a lot more shopping options for the full liquid and mushy state, but it also looks like these can be moved through pretty quickly, I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff that I only need for a few days. I have bought a handful of 4oz containers that have measurements on the side so I can make them as little as I need. I'm a big planner, so the apparent ease compounded with the importance of the surgery is putting me into a tail spin! Dr. suggested a flashing water bottle to remind me to drink. Thoughts on the necessity? They are expensive and most seem to have not great reviews. I drink a ton of water throughout the day, generally speaking I don't need help with getting 150oz in. Maybe this would be better in the Bariatric Haul convo, I'll probably post there as well, but I'm curious about just what everyone here is doing/feeling!

Kat any feedback? I have 5 consecutive months, doctors office cancelled my April appt and I didn’t know I needed 6. Totally freaking out as today was 30 days for ins to respond and they haven’t
