I was just wondering if anyone has gotten pregnant after being banded or if you have any information on pregnancy & lap band. I have been married for a year and a half and my husband and I plan on getting pregnant within the next 2 years. I was banded on June 13th. Congrats! I did ask my doctor is there was any risks in pregnancy while having a lap band. He said none b/c the baby will still get the proper nutrition. I was just curious if any has gone through it. Keep me posted if you don't mind.

I just got my first fill Monday. I am feeling restriction but I don't know if it's as much as I should be feeling.

Hey liquidbluegal, I just wanted to introduce myself b/c I noticed we had a few things in common. I am 27, my highest weight was 235 and my goal is 140. I was just banded on June 13th. I will be getting my first fill on Monday and very excited about it. I've lost 11 lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery but haven't lost anymore since. I am worried about the flabby skin also but think the best thing to do is exercise. I am joining the gym tomorrow. Do you know if you are allowed to have alcohol with the band? I am 11 days post op also and my port incision is still red and the one that is most sore. However, it does not hurt. Mine has bled a little within the last two days so I re-bandaged it. I would definitely call the doctor if it hurts. Better to be safe than sorry.

I hear, using the flavor packets are fine. My nurse also told me not to drink vitamin water, but Propel is ok.

Congrats Salsa1877! 100lbs & a size 4, WOW!!! It's hard to even imagine. I hope to be like you in a year. I will be banded Friday. Pincham2brn, I wouldn't be too concerned about not losing any weight. I have two friends that were banded and their doctor was more concerned about them healing, then losing at that stage. Once you are healed enough to get your first fill, things should change. Good luck!!!

I will be banded on June 13th. I can't wait!!! I'm full of anxiety and excitement now, but I will be nervous when the time comes. This will be my first time under anesthetic.

I will be banded next Friday and I have to start a liquid diet Monday. I am a little aprehensive about it too but as long as you keep the end goal in mind, you (we) should do fine!!! Good luck!

I will be banded next Friday, June 13th. Monday & Tuesday of next week I will have to go on a full liquid diet of just soups, shakes & smoothies. Wednesday & Thursday I will have to drink nothing but clear liquid. Does anyone have any suggestions of things to eat / drink so I can plan for next week?:eek:

Congrats! I just got my news of my insurance approval about an hour ago. I am so excited! I will be banded on June 13th (Friday, the 13th):lol:

He does look like a huge head. LOL! He's cute though. Looks just like my pom except the color.

I can't wait to feel full after eating that little. Think about what you ate before being banded! I should be banded in June. Keep up the good work!

WOW! That's record time that you guys are getting approved. Hopefully Aetna doesn't take too long. I'm anxious!!!

That's awesome. I'm am happy for you. I am waiting approval but my paperwork was just sent in yesterday and it takes about two weeks with Aetna. Oh by the way, I love your dog. I have a black pom named Sebastian. He's about the same size. Not to get off the subject but how does he do with his hair shaved like that? I shaved mine and it took a year for his hair to grow back. It grew back in patches. Anyway, I am very happy for you. CONGRATS!!!

What insurance do you both have? I am waiting for insurance approval right now and am scared. I have Aetna. What is the reasoning for them not approving you?

I'm going for my final weigh in today and scared I haven't lost enough. I've been working with my dietician for 3 months. Last month, she put me on a diet where I was supposed to consume 14 servings of carbs a day. That's 210 grams of carbs in one day. Well needless to say, it wasn't working!!! So when I visited with the nurse from my doctor's office 2 weeks later, I hadn't lost any weight. When I told her what diet the dietician put me on, she was appauled. I was only supposed to be eating 45 grams of carbs a day and the dietician had me on 210. Needless to say, she changed my diet to 45 grams of carbs a day and 60 grams of Protein a day. That was only 3 weeks ago that my diet was changed and so far, I've only lost 7 pounds. (And that's when I way myself in the morning) When I weigh myself in the evening, my weight is usually 2-3 pounds higher than the morning. My final weigh in with the nurse is today at 2:00 and I'm scared that I won't have good numbers. :w00t::thumbup: Wish me luck!!!

It went well. Even though I only lost 2.6 pounds according to her scale, I should hear from my insurance company in two weeks and if all goes well, I should have my surgery on June 6th. That was the best part!!! Hopefully I will not have any problems with insurance and can officially be in June bandster. Thanks for your replies and support. Waiting patiently! :biggrin2:

Yep! It is frustrating. I feel like I'm trying to make up for 3 months of weight loss in 2 weeks. I agree about eating light. All I've eaten today is a 1/2 of a pickle. 3 more hours until the moment of truth.

WOW! There are quite a few of us. I should be banded in June also. I go for my final pre-op weigh in tomorrow and my nurse is pushing for me to get my approval and have my surgery before July 1st. My insurance renews on July 1st and my nurse doesn't want to take a chance of any coverage changes. Good luck to all!!!

I am sitting here laughing at loud at some of the things ya'll won't miss/don't miss. It's really not funny, but I can relate to ALL of them. (Especially the one about answering the phone and the person on the other end thinking I ran a marathon.) This is my first post on this site and I find it wonderful. I am in the pre-op stages of sugery. Had my first consult and weighing in for the first time Friday. I won't miss: Being out of breathe :ohmy: Lane Bryant Squeezing my @$$ into chairs with arms :confused: Legs rubbing together Not being able to have fun around skinny people b/c I think I'm being judged. :wink: back aches :scared2: heart burn :thumbup: Boobs all up in my neck when laying down. :crying:
