btrayah replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was self pay, they gave me a booklet of each phase and what I should be and shouldn’t be eating yet. That was basically it. -
What is your rate of weight loss???
btrayah replied to mav2126's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the sleeve end of March, so almost 6 months post op. I’ve lost 70 lbs but the last few months it’s been sooo slow: I feel like I’m doing everything right but this last month I’ve lost 5 pounds and it just seems like I suck at this... I know there are stalls but it’s still very discouraging. -

Possible I've Lost Too Much?
btrayah replied to Monkeyfulbrighter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don’t look anerexic at all, you look great! Your BMI is normal! Just try not to get too dehydrated! Eat when you need to. For a normal BMI I need to be 130 and I’m a few inches taller than you so I think you’re totally fine! Just not used to seeing it! Great job -
Decisions , decisions, decisions

I started at 340, I’m also 5.7 I had the sleeve and heartburn constantly, my dr fixed a hernia and I have not had heartburn since either. I’m almost 3 months out and have lost 45 lbs. I chose sleeve because my dr said it had less complication rates and I also didn’t want my intestines messed with. You can lose as much weight as you want on either procedure it’s just always up to you. I also get all the benefit of my medicines I have to take for my arthritis. -

Anyone not lose significant weight pre-op?
btrayah replied to MsFACSTeach's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost like 5lbs maybe lol I thought I was the only one. -
Ever since I got sleeved food has tasted so differently, is it just me? Meat especially tastes like the live animal and when I cook it it smells so bad. No one else smells it or tastes what I taste I have to literally choke down all my protein because it’s so gross. It’s almost not worth eating.. anyone else?

Chronic Nausea--No Medical Reason
btrayah replied to Arizona25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omeprozale is for long term heartburn which works for a lot of people, but have you tried Rantidine? It’s the same stuff it’s just more for if you need relief within twenty minutes maybe you could try that 20 minutes before eating? I haven’t dealt with nausea that I didn’t know why yet but I had a lot of problems eating because of the smell or taste of anything, even my favorite foods so I can’t really relate but it sounds horrible! I hope something happens and helps SOON for you, good luck!! Let us know if anything helps or changes. -
It’s been two months, so I’m hoping it starts going away soon!

I was sleeved 3/28 and I’m down 36lbs. First 30 went fast and now it’s going sooooo slow. The last 6 lbs have been over a course of 3 weeks ugh.

May 2018 losers bench
btrayah replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to have your water so cold, that’s in thing I can feel in my stomach too is water but I’ve found that if it’s not freezing it’s not too bad. But I also can’t drink water unless it’s freezing hahah so I just deal with it. -

I was exactly the same way, it feels like you’re literally starving to death. I promise once you are cleared for real food you’ll feel so much better. I honestly just think that it’s the restriction that makes your brain think you’re going to die lol! -
I have arthritis and back problems as well, my dr okayed my nsaids that I am taking for it, I am 8 weeks post op
