Hi all- Just a quick thanks to everyone who has responded to my questions so far... I was banded last Tuesday (2/21) and you all have been a great help. Now my question... How long did you all stick to *JUST* liquids?? I know 1 week is what I am supposed to do, but it is getting really hard. All the liquids are making me nauseous and I'm not getting in my Protein. If I had surgery last Tuesday, does that mean I can start pureed foods this Tuesday? Would it be very bad if I started a day earlier? Please let me know what you experienced/what you think... your feedback is much appreciated!

I'm 4 days post-op and can't seem to get in my milk/calcium, so I came up with a recipe... hot vanilla & coconut milk... it's delicious, but I need some feedback about whether it is safe/good to have any sort of extract in our liquids. The reason I'm concerned is the fact that extracts have alcohol in them. Please let me know what you think... in the interim, here's the recipe: 8-10 oz skim milk - heated 2 packets of splenda a few drops of pure vanilla extract a few drops of imitation coconut extract

Hi everyone, I'm new :thankyou: I'm 33, from the northern virginia area, female, and just starting to get on track for lap-band surgery. I have a consult on Wednesday... I've done some homework and I'm lucky enough to have insurance that will cover much of this. My stats: 5'5" / 240lbs My questions: 1. Is there any physical exam during the initial consult with the doctor/surgeon? 2. Can I wear some sort of bra *during* surgery? I'm a 44DD+ and I really don't want to wake up feeling self-conscious/worried about "being out there." I know this may seem trivial compared to all the issues around surgery, but if anyone can shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it. 3. How soon after surgery can you drive? Will I need to have someone stay with me after the first day? Okay, that's it for now. Looking forward to reading your stories and hearing from you! Peace101
