I have gone to a few family/friends functions and ordered a glass of ice pulled out my Isopure apple-melon poured it over the ice and Appletini lol or so people thought.(yes I carry a big purse) -
Hello all! I am at the 5 week post-op mark,and I have gained back 4 lbs:o I'm on solid foods and find that I 'm constipated "alot" even with the benefiber and 64oz water required(well almost I drink about 3-4 16.5 bottles per day)I am starting to grow tired of the shakes(I'm one of the few people who dislikes chocolate which leaves me out for alot of good tasting protein shakes) I tried Isopure drinks umm not so good to me. I don't eat beef at all so chicken,some fish,shellfish,and egg whites are the proteins I eat.I eat low carb bread and I try to watch the other carbs.I have to be honest I am not on target with my exercise program.I work rotating shifts as a dispatcher, and I seem to tire quickly.I'm seeing Dr. on May 4th any ideas on how to lose atleast this 4 lb gain before than?I was so excited about finally having a tool to help me become healthier (and less of me):biggrin1: Now I feel like I am failing before I get out the gate :think

Thank you for the problem solving equation. I agree that I have to increase W+E+PS to=WL.As for portions well when I eat it's small portions.I have already decided to give up B even low carb kind after suggestion from a fellow bander and to be more careful of the other carbs as well.

Count me in- 255 lbs today. I will be 2 lbs less on Monday. LOL we will all be in line at the mall for the bathroom with drinking 128oz of water .

No kick just a big "HUG" Hang in there time will heal your heart.As for being proud welllllll Girl hold that head up and walk proudly for all the success you have accomplished thus far.Forget about the backward slide and look forward to a successful tomorrow.Now no more fries and sweet tea unless it's splenda sweetened.How about a grilled turkey burger and lowfat cheese to go? -
I have started my soft foods phase and I seem to be gaining not losing. I have gained back 3 pounds since my 2 week post -op weigh in with the doctor. I am wondering if I need to go back to just drinking shakes,soups and water. I have gone back to work so I am not able to walk as often as when I was off from work.:omg: I also seem to be getting hungry where I never really felt that during my 1st 2 weeks. I admit I have been eating more veggies than protein(creamed spinach, and steamed spinach):cry just seemed like I was really craving veggies. I have had some sliced turkey breast from the deli and canned tuna.Mostly get my protein from the shakes or isopure drink.

Rootbeer Float 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder(Designer whey) 1/4 cup semi- frozen skim plus milk 3/4 cup skim plus milk 1 1/2 teaspoon rootbeer extract more or less to your taste. Add everything in a blender blend . -

I am really depressed today,I got on the scale and I have only lost 13 pounds since my banding(3/8/06).My friend and I are doing this as a buddy system she looks like she lost weight and I look the same(hmm think I'm seeing the greeneyed buddy)I have been drinking water, the shake 2x a day and pureed bean soup ( tired of it now) for dinner. I thought I would lose more since I am being so strict and not cheating (boy do I want too)I went to a party and drank Isopure applemelon on the rocks instead of apple martini's (lol fooled a few people I think).Didn't eat anything just looked at the buffet.Now my friend has eaten mashed potatoes and pudding and has lost more(20lbs).I walked for about 15 mins a day last week for 3 days but seem to get really tired quickly.(I am back to work but not doing anything strengous)So what am I doing wrong?Still struggling with the 64 oz of fluid,I get about 48-50.

Thank you for the encouragement. I thought I was suppose to lose like 25-30 pounds the 1st month lol atleast thats what a friend who had the banding done first told me, so I was concerned I was doing something wrong.Gonna see Dr A on Wedensday and just wanted to be on target with my results.I don't mean to sound ungrateful for what I have lost, I am happy because the scale is going down not up and I have not had any negative problems,like some of the banders here.

March 8,2006.Banded at St Claires Hospital.Surgery went really well.I felt great not really alot of pain.Had about 2 sips of water and was full.

Fruit Smoothie 1 Week Post-op?

I was told not to drink from a straw because it might umm:paranoid increase the gas problem.But I tried using flat diet soda in fruit flavors to change up a bit and they are really good tonight I am gonna mix in a little strawberry/banana yogurt and milk with the protein and see how it works -

I purchased the isopure clear drinks.Well the applemelon wasn't bad but the orange was kinda yucky so haven't tried the other flavors yet.I use unjury with milk.I tried the vanilla this morning with a little decaf coffee yummy.I tried the strawberry sorbet which is not so great,but gonna try it with a little banana yogurt mixed in as well.

Hooooooooooray for Leenerbups! I am so glad you conquered your fears and became a bander I am sorry you are having some pain issues,but I also didn't take the pain meds offered and you will be fine in a couple of days.Heck today I surprised myself I felt so good. LOL and I am still having trouble with the sip thing(Guess I am use too gulp and guzzle mode)But I am trying.God Bless and continue to look forward it will get better .

I just purchased the spray type of vitamins from vitamist.com.You have to take 2 sprays in your mouth 4 times a day.Has anyone else used these ,will they provide enough nutrients or should I just stick with the chewables.

I realized I was finally ready to get serious August 18 2005. I have tried sooo many diets lol Dr Abkin had to laugh at my 1st visit.I was not always FAT but always had bad eating habits.Anyway I was leaning toward the bypass until on futher research I discovered banding.August 18,2005 my mother was killed in a car crash on her way home from church(not really so bad since it was her favorite place to be )My mom was a big lady in everyway(size, heart and spirit).They told me at the hospital that because of her size they had to work longer and harder to cut her from the car:cry Knowing how I felt/feel I decided to try to spare my children the thoughts I have, and to become as healthy as I can to be here for my entire family.Sorry took me so long to get to the point.

:clap2: Got banded on March 8th :clap2: Did great until last night . I got hungry sooooo I drank water waited for a hour went to sleep.Well woke up still hungry so I drank a protein shake,:think today I am hungrier than ever.Can anyone give me some suggestions? I am trying hard to get the 64 ounces of fluid in but it is so hard.I will see the doctor next week.Any ideas will grrrrreatly appreciated. Wanda

OMG!!!!!!!!! Well I was mixing the protein mix with the skim milk. I was drinking crystal light and the isopure drinks.But never counted that as part of the water intake. (duh) I was trying to drink the water as a separate 64oz of fluids.Guess I also need to sip more.
