  1. Just a little reminder to drink your water today! Us Barifolks dehydrate easily and in the winter we tend not to drink as much. Make sure you get your water today! 😍😘💙

    Poop-TMI?

Oh the boo hole issues! I went through what is happening to you now. Your body is just adjusting and yes you may be pooing out some excess stomach acid. I take sugar free fiber gummies everyday to help me even out my situation. Also, any medications you take can effect you differently than prior to surgery so that may be a factor as well for you.

    Protein Shakes

The macros look great! If you like the taste and feel good drinking them, I say go for it!
  4. Just like everything else there is only so much your body can use and process at one time. If you're eating too much of any one thing at any meal your body is just going to dump the excess. If you feel comfortable taking in that much at one time go for it. I tend to intuitively eat and I know protein makes me sooooo full. Go with what your body tells you that you can handle. Not even a surgeon will know for sure how much is too much.

    Psychological roller coaster

I ended up switching psychiatrists after my surgery. The one I had been going to for almost 8 years said I was getting too weepy and I should go into intensive outpatient therapy and really freaked me out that I was losing my mind. My therapist told me my psych was full of it and I got a new one. So much happier now! Not all docs are created equal and some just suck lol

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

My surgery was on June 4th and I've lost 90lbs since surgery! I've lost 119 overall through all of last year. I can't believe how well my sleeve is working! I feel like a completely different person. I struggled a little during November because I had stopped weighing my food, now that I've gone back to that I've been so much more successful. I hope youre all doing well these first few days of the New Year!

    Mental health

@mousecat88 thank you for posting that video! That was incredibly helpful. I actually took a few screen shots. I wish my surgeons office had explained the mental/emotional side of things a little better and that video seals a lot of holes in my knowledge. Thank you!!!!

    Mental health

Whew I am so glad I read all this. My psych nurse made me feel like I was nuts when I started crying in her office. (My therapist totally gets my emotional rollercoaster right now and this thread just proved what my therapist said) My psych wanted to up my meds and send me for intensive outpatient therapy. I didn't up my meds or go to more therapy and Im fine. Hormones are a real b***h kitty! Some days Im like la di dah! And the next Im a hot mess. Hopefully this will all even out soon enough.

    CONSTIPATION!!

I talked to my gastroenterologist about not going.. she said Fiber Gummies! I got some VitaFusion sugar free fiber gummies and now I go! I take 4 gummies instead of 2 like they recommend but, it has been a game changer.

    Emotions Post Op?

Youre going to have a huge swing of emotions! I was happy, sad, scared, nervous, excited, crying, laughing, and questioning my sanity.. and that was the first week lol Seriously though, youre going to have emotions all over the place. You'll be hurting some from incisions and gas but, the emotion thing was hardest for me. Just remember that you just traumatized your body and it's a huge shock. Go easy on yourself, be kind to yourself. Make sure you have any kind of low key hobby you can think of to keep your mind and hands occupied. Try to walk as much as you can, try to drink as much water as you can. You'll be sleepy and feel lethargic. Its all normal. If you have a favorite blanket or pillow, keep it with you. Treat yourself kindly and the rest will fall into place. Youre embarking on a great journey with ups and downs and it's going to make you happier and healthier! Change is good this time!

    Decreased Libido after My VSG

Have you started vitamins and perhaps spoken to the psychiatrist who prescribed your meds? It sounds like a frank conversation with your doctors is in order. I would include your fiance in those discussions so he can perhaps understand whats going on with you. If he feels like this is too hard for him to handle when you are at your worst.. does he really deserve to be in your life when you are at your best? You have the answers you need already, you just need to take action. I do wish you the best.. life changing surgery on top of mental health issues is not an easy road to take. Keep your chin up, you can do this.

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

@pacheka I walked at least an hour a day (split into 10 minute increments) immediately after surgery. After 2 weeks I was cleared by my surgeon to do as much exercise as I felt comfortable doing. Right now I’m 2 months post op and I go to the gym 3 times a week for 90 minutes. I eat between 700-900 calories per day and try to drink 128ozs of water. I eat no less than 80 grams of protein per day. The key is to develop these behaviors while the new tool we have been given is doing most of the work. Soon it’ll be the behaviors we created that do the work and we should be happy and healthy!

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I got Starkist tuna and chicken packets. They have a variety of flavors and they are nice and soft. I also ate hummus, soft Babybel cheese, string cheese, mashed potatoes, canned veggies, canned fruit in water, applesauce, refried beans with guacamole and salsa.. if youre short on protein I recommend getting some unflavored protein (Unjury sells packets of it) and mixing it in with your oatmeal or soup. Beef is pretty hard on me too, you might try white fish like cod, tilapia, etc.

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I drink both Unjury shakes and Bariatric Advantage shakes. I have also bought some things from the BariatricPal store that will arrive tomorrow! I'm excited! I was sleeved on June 4 and I use Sugar Free Torani syrup and a vanilla protein shake in the morning for creamer in my coffee. It sets me up with 30 grams of protein right away. Its a good and yummy way to start the day.

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

@Lisarocks my pain meds weren’t working properly and once that was fixed everything was peachy! The drive home was hard, definitely bring a pillow to hold against your tummy, it helps. The first few days I could barely get my water in and I was scared because I was hardly getting any protein, but after reading comments here and people telling me to just get my fluid in and the protein would come secondary it eased my mind a lot. Now I can get my protein in like a champ and it’s not a big deal

@sentaric I was responding to Lisarocks 😁 I had my vsg surgery on June 4th. I go for my two week post op check tomorrow morning! And absolutely reading all the posts here kept me sane during my 2 week pre op liquid hell diet And certainly afterwords when I was 48 hours out of surgery and sure that I had made a mistake. This forum has been super helpful! 👌🏻🙏🏻😍

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

I was just wondering the same. I hope your procedure went well, BurpeeZombie! We’re thinking of you! 🙂
  24. I have no idea if it’s normal or not as I have not seen anything on the interwebs about it and my surgeon never said anything But! I have some serious nerve pain going on between two of my incision sites. I definitely know it’s nerve pain because my feet and legs feel the same way due to neuropathy. Anyone else have this? Did it go away? I see my surgeon Tuesday however I’m worried about it now lol 😂

Hey June 4 twinnies!!! How y’all doin? I stopped my pain meds Monday and the gas pain is all but gone now. I’ve been taking my vitamins, trying like crazy to get as much fluid in as possible, and not gag on one more dang protein shake lol!
