There is no better feeling than skinny. So proud of you! I can not wait to be in your position. That’s a mountain of a difference from less than a month ago. Congratulations!

I couldn't find them anywhere either. I searched and searched but they seemed to be discontinued. I'll get the Gas X mint chewables as well. Has anyone purchased any Hair, Skin and Nails chewables (preferably sugar free)? My surgeon's office said the gel cap ones I currently take will be too difficult to dissolve going forward. On another note, I came across this little fun celebrity inspiration last night. I love Before and After pics! https://www.eonline.com/shows/rich_kids_of_beverly_hills/photos/13868/before-and-after-celebs-who-have-admitted-to-weight-loss-surgery/753790 -

YAY! You, me and @sanfletch70 are surgery triplets all on June 25th! Congrats on the date. I'm nervous and excited too and sometimes my mind goes into the "what am I doing" state because I really don't have any family support and I'm keeping this private from my colleagues and I'm worried about all the celebrating we always do at my office. But, then I remember how long I've struggled with obesity (up and down and up and down) and I know I need to do this for myself and my kids. I've got to fight this once and for all. If you just have 1 liquid day before surgery then that is amazing! I'm finding that everyone's surgeons has their own preference and diets vary vastly. I think mine is doable but that's what I'm saying now. HAHA! I'm not in the thick of it quite yet. We can DO this! Before you know it, we'll be on the other side! -

Pre-Op went great today! First, I paid for the surgery in full with the office ($$$!!!!! ouch - but a good ouch - this is the beginning of a big change and journey in my life). The Bariatric Coordinator reviewed all my vitamins and I'm in good shape. I received my binder (WLS Bible) which I'm eager to read over in detail. We discussed the Pre-Op Diet again which starts 10 days before surgery. The Bariatric Coordinator answered all my zillions of questions. I had a little pocket size moleskine that I've been keeping questions and notes in. By the time the Surgeon came in, I really had no further questions as I felt like everything had been answered already. I received my Pain RX script and also was told my surgery would be at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, 6/25. However, they did say that the time could easily get moved up to earlier in the day. I received a goodie/sample bag of various vitamins and shakes and juices to try out. The team is amazing and I learned that the facility that I'm having surgery in is so brand new that it actually is opening next week. They said the recovery rooms are like a hotel room with an amazing view and for patient visitors, the lounge is insane with an amazing coffee shop. YAY! I am a sucker for architecture, NEW, aesthetics and design. They told me the Nurse Anesthetist will call me in the near future to go over all surgery related stuff (timing, meds, what to expect, etc.). I left feeling pretty excited. I went to CVS after and filled my RX and purchased a few more items: Liquid Tylenol, Pepcid Complete (which I need to take 2 a day for the first 6 weeks before I graduate to Calcium Citrate chewable). I'm going to jump online and buy some Gas X strips. Otherwise, I feel pretty prepared in terms of supplies. -

1 week post op...feeling great

As a single mom you don't know how encouraging this is to hear. I don't think I'll need the pain meds long and I love that you were doing home chores and then actually went out the pool and shopping already. I so want that since I'm taking a couple weeks off. I hope to spend a little extra time with the kids especially my youngest who is 7. You really are a success story with your recovery. May I ask your stats (weight/height)? Qhere you started and where you are now and where you want to go? Love that you're already feeling benefits like sleeping better and feeling good energy. Feel free to jump over in the June RNY Buddies page. You're so close to June. There are a few on there just beginning their journey and I'm sure would love to read about your success so far. -

You're doing so great! It's nice you have your spouse to help you. I talked to the Bariatric Coordinator today at pre-op and she said sugar free gum is ok - Yay! She just said don't go crazy because it can make you salivate and may make you more hungry. It's encouraging you have not had any nausea. Has your family mentioned the tummy noises are loud enough for them to hear? I read that never goes away. Already cutting back on BP meds --- look at you GO! The emotional part if the best to hear and I can understand feeling down. Something has shifted in me in recent months from "no hope" to "I'm going to fight this obesity once and for all!" -

@sanfletch70 - You’re my Surgery Twin! I’m on June 25th. I’m nervous too. I’m just sitting in the waiting room at my surgeon’s office for my Pre-Op appointment. I have an entire bag of Vitamins with me so they can review and make sure I have the right stuff. I’m sure they are going to think I’m crazy. Haha! I just started becoming active on this Forum and am really enjoying the support. Sending you the best. Happy to have all these June RNY buddies. -
I'm 2 weeks coffee/caffeine FREE and it feels amazing! Great tip though on the creamer/protein as I'm sure one day postop I'll add coffee back in.

I haven't tried the Premier Protein yet but did stock up since everyone highly recommends them. I found them at Costco for $24.99 for 18 pre-made 11 oz. shakes. I got 3 packs (chocolate, vanilla and caramel).

I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow and am not quite certain what all to ask. I stopped at the grocery store and purchased some goodies today on my way home for my pre-op diet. I start 10 days before surgery but am thinking about making it an even 2 weeks just to get in the groove. Skim Milk Lean Meat (allowed 3 oz. for lunch & dinner) Fat Free Ham Turkey Chicken 1% Cottage Cheese Fruit Premier Protein Shakes Dannon Lite & Fit Yogurt (6 oz. max per serving) sugar free popsicles sugar free Jello Dill Pickles Broth Celery Broccoli Cauliflower Cucumber Radishes 64 oz. of Water This is all going so fast. I had my first appointment with my surgeon on May 22nd and am scheduled for surgery on June 25th. Fast track for self-pay I guess. Yikes. Excited! -

Yay! Nice to hear you're in the comfort of your home! I'm not sure about the drain but I've had 2 drains for another surgery before. They are a little annoying but they come out easy and help collect fluid. I'm sure you'll only have until your first follow up or so. -

@jrandolph68 That's a great idea about the cooler. I bought those little 2 oz. clear disposable cups with lids and think they may look weird in our office refrigerator. I like the idea of storing a little cooler under my desk. @jrandolph68 & @Kimbero Congrats on being this far our post op. You are my veterans now. Hoping I may ask you a few questions? Did you have help at home when you returned from the hospital? Can you chew gum? How does your tummy feel? Any head hunger? Do you feel weak or out of it or pretty much like yourself? How do you feel emotionally? -

Wow! Incredible to be back to work after Gastric Bypass so quickly. How was work today? How is the head hunger? Do you feel hydrated? I'm still so impressed at your ability to get right back at it and how much weight you've lost. Congrats! -

This is incredible. You didn't really take any time off. I was planning on 2 weeks off but my post op diet is pretty strict with about 3 weeks of liquids only before moving to puree. You are giving me hope that recovery may be much better than expected. Did you guys have any help at home?
